Paul Durston Hello Paul, no worries. It reads just under 700ft as the elevation at Leeds is some 680ft, the highest commercial airport in the UK. My altimeter is set to QNH not QFE ;)

Hi Matt hope you're well! I would definitely say PTT is an amazing school and the experience flying out of LBA with up to date diesel aircraft was one to remember. The instructors are good as well with a lot of varying experience. I passed my PPL over around 6 months, however was doing an hour or two over first few months then started doing 3/4 a week as I had a target set as when I wanted to have it done by. Hours also started slowing down during December as it was winter. Don't be upset if your lessons get cancelled a few times as LBA is the highest elevated airport in the UK and is sometimes subjected to a lot of winds, as well as a low cloud base. Would recommend doing your hours close together and not having many gaps so the flying stays 'fresh'. You could possibly get your PPL slightly cheaper elsewhere however the experience was ace and really loved and enjoyed being in controlled airspace with reality around you. I was flying with 737s, 757s and A320s. Feel free to ask me anything else, wish you all the best! :)

John Ahaha I like the comment. It’s a high visibility jacket to be visible during the day not just through the night. It’s compulsory to wear it on the ramp at all times regardless of the time of day. Also, the flight was only 5 mins so no point taking it off, does no harm :)
