OMG!!! This is exactly what I needed to hear. I have watched all the videos of Dr. Ramani and Danish Bashir about Narcissism. She has explained it beautifully, but it's in an American context. In this podcast, @Raj Shamani mentioned the Indian culture/upbringing aspect of it. My father has all the traits she mentioned. Now, I have left home, and as an Indian, I feel guilty every day about leaving a parent and not taking care of him. It took me 25 years to come out of it, and finally, I did. I’m serious-this freedom terrifies me. At last Raj used the perfect words it either Guilt or Suffocation, no other choice. Rebuilding my whole life-financially, emotionally, mentally, and even my nervous system-is overwhelming. I need to find good people, rebuild my "village," unlearn the survival skills I picked up in childhood, and relearn how to create and thrive in a healthy environment.
We both are on the same boat ..I walked out after 24yrs of being married and Dr. Ramani really helped me to understand and move forward. I have no guilt, infact I am happy that I am in a true sense able to be myself...
You are not alone. You will experience the best form of "Love & Life" you deserve when you put an end to the abuse & once you see it you can't unsee it. Sending you healing Hugs and Love. The generational curse ends with you, girl ❤
I'm going through this shit , i left home for studies living seperate and can see toxic patterns in myself, can you please tell how you able to create a healthy environment for yourself?
I hear you !! We need to observe and become aware of everything that's registered in our unconscious mind as kids. It's like cleaning the glass to perceive our reality as it is Versus looking through a tainted glass i.e through childhood trauma.
Excellent!!! I have personally experienced narcissism at all levels, and so I can say one thing...all narcissistic people are players, but they forget there is a coach and their worst nightmare...A Super Empath, and the narcs know it intuitively.
@lawliet2019 Well,a super empath is a sigma male/female. Once they know their true worth, capability and confidence both, believe me they turn tables around and how.Narcissiits run for cover coz, empaths drop their masks and illusion and thus the big fall of the Narc, especially their PRIDE. Narcs are hollow and cowardly they always have flying monkeys to do their work, but a Sigma is always a step ahead.Period.
Chill reh bhai 1-2 din me sab bhul v jaenge, mai saalo se logo se is baare me baat kr kr ke thak chuka hu, ab mai bolta v nhi hu, society hmare prati hmesha cold thi or rhegi
This is so so relatable... I have my father like this... As the orator said I quit and moved to different city for job and was happy. He use to call every now and then to chk how am I doing... Everyone thought he is such caring father. The moment I came back home. He would fight so much with me. He would not even provide food and constantly nag to kick me out of the home. I just wasted 10 yrs of my life. I would never understand why is he behaviour like this. Beyond everything he never had remorse feeling. He always said I did the right thing. I never do wrong to anyone. He messed up me mentally so much.
This is for any child who still lives with their narcissistic parent, work hard, find your niche, try to tune out what is happening in your house. GET OUT of that house, the first chance you get whether it is to study away from your house or to find work away from your house. As a daughter of a raging narcissist, I got out 3 years ago, the changes you will see in yourself, the self worth that you have to rebuild..It takes time, but believe me, it's worth it. It comes with a lot of shame and guilt, but it is worth it in the long run. The world around you becomes a little more colourful and beautiful. But the little voice that is programmed into your head constantly saying you are worthless and useless will not leave you, for that you need therapy. And that is where the 'work hard' part comes in, so earn and spend money to better yourself. I didn't have any of my own interests or likes/dislikes. At the age of 27 I am finding myself now. If someone who was worthless/useless like me can do it, You can too. ❤
This podcast is probably one of the best I have seen in a long while on mental health issues in India. Ms Havovi did a beautiful job translating the work of Dr Ramani into Indian context, which would make it so much easier for Indians to relate. I love how you categorized narcissists and their behavior patterns, and then also emphasized the solution of leaving their grip in a planned calculated manner. I am so glad that you touched not just upon the problem, but also discussed the solutions, which is as much, if not more important than discussing the problem itself. Thank you, Raj and Ms Havovi for making this a solution-oriented talk. This is some amazing work right there! Can't wait for more such podcasts in the future.
Life after moving on from toxic narcissist relation is so so soo fucking good and that freedom you gona feel is best feeling. Move on from that toxic relationship n believe me i’ve been there for like decade and really thr is no cure. Value urself move on . CHEERS
My brother finally left his narcissistic wife after years of suffering!! He got a divorce after 25 yrs of marriage - by that time their kids were adults!!
Hi Raj and team u r all doing great work and as viewer i request u to you pls bring environmentalists also to highlight the environmental issue bcoz this is the most important thing which every person should know as underground water are not pured as before and I want to understand how it affects the crop in farming land pls
i usually don't comment on any video but Raj forced me to comment on this. He was not letting Havovi speak and kept on letting out his thoughts(felt like flexing his knowledge). He cut her so many times
You do not need narcissism to be a leader, narcissistic people have the drive to want to be a leader, admired and appreciated by many that’s why they make efforts and tend to put themselves in leadership positions doesn’t mean they’re good leader and history doesn’t say that you have to be narcissistic to be a leader, the way you’re talking, you mean being leader is desirable it doesn’t have to be a good leader or a bad leader. If a leader is leading people following him in wrong direction, that’s a bad leader. Many people change the world doesn’t mean they are good People are good leaders.
what Havovi ji said about in the podcast matches to my husband to the dot. Coming out from the abuse and trauma which is attached afterwards is extremely impossible to get out. As a narc abuse victim, one can't feel great after they left the relationship, it's like grieving forever. Thank God our society is more open to have these kind of discussions now. You can't explain how it is and no one can understand it until they personally experienced it. It is living hell. I hope people who are under these monsters break free and try to lead lives as any human supposed to be.
Raj, I love all your podcasts and I like the fact that you are so invested in them. But it would help if you learned to listen and allow your guests to finish their sentences.
Thank you so much sir for this episode, seriously we need to discuss all these issues, my mother is suffering from narcissistic personality disorder, she spoiled our family, I can understand all this, suffered loads, i also want to help such people 🙏
Very true. It almost reopens all wounds right, left and center. To draw a line between just having a discussion to make life easier vs nagging to get whatever they want is very thin. Validation vs Gratification. Makes life miserable.
Bhai raj chup ho ja, ek article pad k tu psychologist nhi ban jyga. havovi was just gonna tell how to plan a escape from a narcissistic family and u shunned her. Matlab saare podcasters apne aap ko bahut zyada samajhdar smajhne lagte hai same happened to ranvir thats why i stopped listening to his podcasts please let ppl talk we are here to listen to them not you.
very informative Raj sir, i would like to thank you for the podcasts and guests like her, i am self learning abut the psychology from last 6 years and from last 2 years i am learning many things from your podcasts like this... thanks a lot
So informative and this is the need of the hour ! It's important to educate ourself and near n dear ones Please also speak more on exit strategy with the narcissist!
Really?? Ranveer?? So sick of his tantrik ,punar janam ,ghost talks kind of stupid podcasts !!! The kind of crazy things that educated people hardly believe!
My husband is a religious person, but he has very specific expectations about how things should be done. If I don't conform completely to his way of thinking, he accuses me of being disloyal or coming from a flawed background. This constant criticism makes me feel guilty, as though I am always at fault. His persistent nagging has left me hesitant to speak freely, even in front of others, because I fear it will lead to another round of accusations or guilt trips later. I feel like I am walking on glass bottle all the time. To cope, I sometimes speak to my brother and sister-in-law, as it helps me release my emotions. However, my husband disapproves of this, which only leads to more guilt and tension. I worry that if I donot find an outlet to express myself, I might end up overwhelmed or emotionally unwell.
Request for another podcast topic Raj - Please try and bring someone on the channel who can dissect the entire spectra of LGBTQIA+ community and related concerns. It will enlighten so many flickering minds who lack knowledge on the same.
This is the best podcast for people who are putting an end to years and years of cyclical abuse or still trying to figure out. Once you SEE it, you'll never be able to UNSEE it. ❤
I've got used to it, in my mom and then my hubby that if I'm out of it. I can't breathe . Jal bin machhli..the toddler thing is dil toh bachcha hai ji... Nasamjhi hi toh hai... whether it's right or wrong we drag it along,... The relationship..😂😢😢😅😢😢😢😢😢
Yes, I am suffering the same with my partner. But now the problem is, how do i make him understand further with the help of this video? this will also loop back to me at the end! please help. i am an emotionally stable and mature person. now that this is the last resort showing this video to him, he will act volatilly back to me. Ab iska solution batao. i dont want to break up becoz of this but i want to make him mentally healthy.
Boss u r talking abt the contracted diseases which we already have. It would be better u talk how to over come as well. Over all thanks for bringing this up. So much relevant.

In this way every other person is unwell mentally and every second person needs a therapist. The result of such thinking already we see in the west and Europe where there are therapists lined up in each street. And are they doing well. No. They are not. By the way, those therapists whom they go to as in the medical profession doctor can't operate on himself or they don't do so for their close ones. As the horoscope fellow doesn't look into his own. And the solution arrived in the end is to LEAVE . Joke. Spirituality is a way to live life not therapy. Medicine therapy is for illnesses like schizophrenia etc. Rest, it's better understood and handled by the society as a whole. Guest I wish to watch Swami Sarvapriyananda ji. No therapy can equal his discourses.
