Hey man, Owner of Sanctuary/Ascension, yes we were DDOS'd 1000s of times unfortunately to the point that we had to take it down, however, i still make content in the form of powersets now, i hope to have them featured on the other private servers, but i dont blame Homecoming for it, all the other servers such as Rebirth, Tspy and Homecoming are still up and doing well, just wanted to clarify.
They so nailed much of the music in CoH. So heroic, so inspiring and so haunting. Kind of here notes of Star Trek music that hint at the wonder of space but in this case, the wonder of a world filled with superheroes. Hearing this makes me sad the story ended [officially that is as I play on Homecoming and TSpy) prematurely. There so needed to be a City of Heroes 2.0. Thanks for uploading and keeping the memory alive.
xara505 Having tried it, sure the absence of enemies is noticeable. However, wandering through familiar streets and hearing familiar sounds is quite refreshing. And it isn't entirely empty, I've interacted with plenty of other people in it.
@@paveesfox375 Not to mention City of Heroes: Homecoming pulls about 50% of GW2's steam player count which is pretty wild for a private server of a "dead" game. Though to NCsoft it's the korean playbase that really matters unfortunately.
city of heroes is back, look for rebirth, sanctuary, unity or thunderspy. They're all great servers
Sadly not sanctuary any more, someone (bets on HC) decided to DDOS it and spam it for 2 days straight, and the devs took it down
@@bognog0469 Well that sucks, sorry to hear that
@@bognog0469 Meh, all the rumors are conjecture. Bringing down one of the smaller servers would be entirely pointless.
@@SoggySoup Tell that to Tspy who got constant DDOSs last year, and right at the same time HC got their income.

We're back in business, baby!
COH IS BACK! Lookup Homecoming or Rebirth, I've been playing for a week!
A gem from a now long lost era.... Sigh.
xara505 Quite unfortunately true. However, it's not completely gone, not anymore. Have you heard of Paragon Chat?
***** I sure have. I'm not sure I'll try Paragon Chat, though. It'll be so empty and incomplete feeling.

***** I can understand the appeal, but as the saying goes, "it just won't be the same". It's not the endearing experience we remember and love, alas!
Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
Ah, I remember this while futzing around on the character creation screen...
We lost this for Wildstar...
Guild wars 2 you pleb, they closed this down and diverted the work force to gw2 expecting a much larger success
