  • 4.2 Mile Alpine Style Hill Climb in West Somerset, The Porlock Toll Road! This was filmed in Auguest 2023, one month before the Porlock Hill Climb Weekend featuring CTT hill climb events on the Main Porlock Hill (main road) and this climb The Porlock Toll Road. Today I was going hard to see if I could get a Strava Segment PR in the lead-up to the hill climb race in September 2023 #porlock #hillclimb #cycling

    Flippin heck mate. That's similar power as Paul Hamblett up there, only he had to do it for 4min less than you. Crazy power. That's about 100w more than I can do up for 20min 🤯

      Piglet is a proper machine! 👍👍 I’ve had a bit of a mental block on the longer efforts, blew up with cramp cycling up there with Nat the other week just over a mile in at 370w Av until then. I would have liked to stretch out a few more watts yesterday but at times I was focusing on getting more aero and going for the speed for the PR instead of the watts, you’ll see when we do it there’s a fast section where I dropped the watts in hope the HR would get a micro rest. Maybe it was the hard effort in the morning before this ride still in my legs but yesterday the cardiovascular system wasn’t really firing, struggled to keep the watts high at m usual cadence so you might notice that cadence was a little low for me, grinding out the PR. Probably explains why my legs are so sore today… all good training 😂😂👍👍🔥

      @@KOMRides Mate, if that was struggling I would love to see you on a good day :)
      I just did the wtrl TTT, and I struggled for 43min, averaging 260w, and ~275 for 20min. That's just 5w below my alltime pb. Last 20min my hr was pegged at >93% max hr.
      Needless to say that even if I'd go fullgas on Porlock, I'd need at least 25min.
