I remember when I lost my grandfather in April of 2019...my stepmother's mom was going to marry him and they were going to have a big wedding..sadly he had a stroke, but a cotton ball somehow got into his lungs in the hospital, and he passed away because of it. Then to make it hurt even worse, on July the first, my grandma Judy died from cerrosis of the liver. She got so thin and frail. Then a few months later, and uncle on my dad's side which was his dad's brother died of a heart attack. One after the other. I was still getting over my abusive relationship that ended the year before, as well as losing my cat a few days after Christmas. After all of that, I had a job, and was working at the YMCA in the childcare system for a year. Then the pandemic hit and I wad laid off. I just sadly smiled as tears ran down my face and said to myself "Well y'all..it ended, and it didn't end good. But we gotta accept it." Then things got better for a while. I started dating a nice guy. It lasted a year, but ended on the 11th of May, last month. I lost myself in the relationship so much, I stopped taking care of myself and lost myself entirely. It affected my mental health very badly, and things weren't good between us because of me. So I ended it. It was for the best. This song represents life and death. Loss and the discovery of new, wonderful experiences. Cherish life as well as accept death. It hurts and it's not easy. But keep on smiling and walking forward. Don't keep looking back all the time. Live your life good, my friend.
