Great video Phil and as always a great explanation of what you are doing , what works and doesn’t work. Good luck with all future plans. Food source is very important 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Enjoyed watching.
Some good plans, going ahead for the farm shop. I'm not sure what's in your area, but a kids' soft play area with a few good slides can bring a lot of business. Then you could tap into the Christmas trade with meeting santa. I know these things won't be cheap to do, but possibly the investment in some indoor attractions that help to get more people through the door will only be a positive thing for the farm shop. I'll be sure to call in when I eventually get a chance to cone over to Ireland.
When I was a kid in the 80s I loved it when we got to go on a Farm Tour I can still remember going on them Tours with my school here in DUBLIN. It Whould be great if you are able to do Farm Tours in the future for school Kids from Dublin and other places that don't have any farms where they live so the kid's can see where there Food comes from because lots of kids just think it comes from the shops.
If and when you go down the open farm path it would be worth your while to visit Glenroe open farm in Wicklow. It was established in the mid 90s when the Tv series was filmed there and has lasted long after the cameras left. You can see how the different animals are contained in enclosures.
A older lady uses geese/ some small bird to control slugs in her larg vedge garden might be mutual beneficial to have pen of them neat the farm shop and in the pumpkins ot eat slugs
Hi Phil, you surely have a double chop harvertor that would work, take off the shute and open the auger. That should fo the job on those sunflower stalks.
Would it be better to put in some Peaches and Cream sweet corn, and how about test crops of some other types of melons ( cantaloupes, water, honeydew) for the farm shop . Are there any other pig farmer around that would buy some of your leftover pumpkins for feed. You could feed the leftover sweet corn to the pigs and chickens along with some of the leftover melons and you can always chop the stocks up for cow bedding. The sunflowers are a waste of time and money. Get as much back as you can for the work you do.
You must not have been listening to RTE weather for the last week, they are trying to convince us, we had the hottest year ever on record! Just to add, I have seen a video on line, where in China they use a flock of ducks the eat all slugs in crops and they do a brilliant job at it
Weird you cattle turn their nose to pumpkins, i seen many videos of the devouring them wholesale. Also heard pumpkin seeds have a natural de-wormer in them.

Hi farmer Phil that was a great job with your land and keep up the good work with all on the farmer 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’d love to see a video that was start to finish the process of the pumpkins. Pieced together from the whole year!

Are you buying chicken and duck feed. Sunflower and Pumpkin seed should be a crop harvested for them over winter.
You already used the best machine to mulch sunflowers in a previous video. And those machines were the front and rear mowers.
Best of luck to Liv and yourself Phil for the future 👍 . The videos are always deadly 👌
A mulcher would be a super job for those sunflowers and the pumpkins and for other bits around the farm like rushes etc and for the orchard

Thought you had a major cyclone
99 needs sum tlc
