If this is the case for any life pod then there are 4 different possibilities that could have occurred, those being: 1. The life pod and the person inside could have been killed at some point during planetfall. 2. The person landing in a resource-poor area and being unable to create anything besides food and water. 3. Their blueprints all got deleted due to damage like Riley and they were too far from the Aurora to be able to scan wreckage and thus could only build the most basic of things. 4. Their blueprints were not deleted and they were able to make a rocket, this however could have gone 1 of 2 ways, the first outcome of this is that they launched before the quarantine enforcement platform was disabled and were shot out of the sky, or they could have saw the Sunbeam get shot down and postponed their launch until seeing Riley launch off with his rocket then they successfully launched and got to go home.
This also makes launching time capsules make sense, it would be proof to other survivors, that someone else survived the crash, and it would give proof, that you can leave the planet without issue.
However, you technically can't leave the planet without turbing off the quarantine enforcement platform, because the Neptune has an on-board threat detector, not allowing you to launch before the QEP is disabled. The second thing is, that the Neptune Rocket blueprint was uploaded on a computer in the Captain's quarters on the Aurora, so, without the ability to get to the ship, you won't get the blueprint, and, by a long shot, won't leave the planet, unless you have acces to a completely different rocket/ spaceship blueprint.

That should be from a hidden lifepod on the wall of the crater, deep in the void. Or slowly sinking, as only one of the buoyancy pads works, and all systems are trying to keep it afloat, but there is only a pda containing that log, and a torn hatch.
@empirecrumbles, Personal Ruffian It happen in space (very far from surface, it can be inferred from PDA) so it is possible, if I remember one time Russians wanted to land on Kazachstan but they were on trajectory to Japan (or something like that)
But his PDA is found on the floating island. So he must have turned back due to complications. Plus, the Aurora isn’t accessible, only after the quantum detonation is it actually possible to get inside.
Well actually I know keens story he left the pda on the island to let other people know while he went with his partner to fix the aura but there was no entrance so they got eaten by a re-
I haven’t seen the entire video, and this point may have already been made, but a very strong point could be that they sunk endlessly into the Dead Zone. Think about it: the dead zone is endlessly falling. Especially relating to his first idea (damage to the lifepods after it was hit) the lifepods may have been damaged enough to where life support or something similar were compromised. As the pods sank into the dead zone, the crew may have panicked and fleed from the pod, only to find themselves in open water, where they were most likely killed by the Ghost Leviathans. This also may explain why we cannot find any of the lifepods, as they simply continued to sink. That’s just my take, anyway. Feel free to drop any ideas you have about this theory in the replies!
Dude, you sound extremely educated on this scientific ish. It’d be awesome if you continued with this and helped some developers on the realistic details! Also, it’s nice that you’re able to speak freely and intelligently and you don’t sound like you’re reading a script.
The void bit is especially terrifying, when you consider the fact that Ghost Leviathans Never. Stop. Growing. It is a LITERAL fact that this means some could be Much, MUCH bigger than the aurora
It would be VERY COOL to find lifepod 5 (Rileys lifepod) in Below Zero somewhere floating, it could of drifted there. Maybe you can even find a PDA log that was left behind.
Wait so so if you finished Subnatica press read more because i writing a spoiler. This is NOT a spolier about below zero So in subnatica you send off a capsule as you launch into space in the NEPTUNE rocket. Your able to write whatever you want in this capsule,. so if you are on the same account for BELOW ZERO you could find that capsule with the same message you wrote in the 1st game.

I felt so sorry for the survivor in life pod 4. He had no choice but to take his chances with the decoy. I can’t even imagine how terrifying that swim for the ship would have been, which ultimately ended badly for him.
What I love is that a Warper radio message suggests that you weren't alone as it says that 1 of the 2 subjects have been killed which adds another question of who survived?
Thats a scary and unerving thought that the quarentine enforcement platform and the stalkers work hand in hand at finishing advanced civilizations survivors
It really makes you think about how lucky Ryley was, they not only landed in non of the dangerous biomes, but they managed to land in one of the safest biomes in the entire game, as well as far enough from the Aurora to not be dying of radiation poisoning. The only other lifepod which had anywhere near that amount of luck was lifepod 3 landing in the kelp forest, and somehow they still were killed.
"This is lifepod 35. I have been sinking for the past half hour. These erie glowing creatures are patrolling outside in this void of water and micro-organisms. *Life pod reaching maximum crush depth* If you get this message, don't come for me, and tell my family I love them. *static*
An additional Possibility can be that the Explosion caused some of the Lifepods to violently crash into each other, dashing the pods to bits. If it didn't, the collision could have thrown the Pods either into space, Crater's edge (the Void to you), Land (which would have shattered the pod), or even down into the Dunes or Mountains (home of the Reaper Leviathans)... And some may even have been swept into the lost river or the Magma Caverns, the latter would mean they became the Sea Emperor Leviathan's idea of "Canned Food".
fun fact: ryley robinson wasn't the only survivor, another lifepod way out of the wreckage of the aurora survived. story continues with Subnautica 3: Craters Edge
Hey man! I’m pretty sure I gave you this idea! Yeah I’m undertheshallows I change my name a lot😅 (if I didn’t then sorry) also I LOVE you videos and I’m pretty sure I’ve almost watched all of them? Keep going, your videos make my day😁.
when i clicked on the video and heard "there was 25 lifepods deployed and only nine are seen in the game" i was like "oh the 16 others are just in the void"
Since we're including malfunctions, I'd say it's safe to say that many of them just didn't launch from parts of the ship being torn. Many pods may have been directly hit by the beam.
i know you said this comment a year ago but from the balck box date we can see that 25 of the lifepods did launch successfully. what happened after. we do not know
I'm pretty sure the ship was already in the atmosphere when it got shot, not in space. The sunbeam backs it up, and it would also need to be within the planet's gravity well to crash into it in most cases
I think a cool subnautica mod is where the aurora crashes with you inside it and still alive but you have to try and make it out of the aurora before it explodes you have to make a radiation suit with materials you find on the aurora and eventually you make it to the place where you exit then you get the message that the aurora is about to explode you know you can’t make it far enough away intime and accept your fate
one could’ve landed in one of the hydrothermal vents that are at the deep ocean floor and then gotten destroyed by the lava. We know from the lava zone that it can easily destroy the plasteel that the prawn suit is made out of so it could probably destroy a life pod as well.
The void is probably the most Likly the option if the life pod didn’t get hit by the ghost due to momentom they could be crushed by the deapth this could be anthor likly posibility that people could impload and be aten because of the deapth and by judging the pron suit is taller and by the animations their life pods could be eaten aswell of corse this might be my own head cannon but it’s interesting to think about (btw love the content keep up the amazing work my guy)
I know this is a late response of a year, but it could make sense as lifepods were probably launched early in space, so they could of had a sub-orbital flight and careened sround to sector zero
Alright, so, hear me out: Another Possibility are the Reapers. And I know what you're probably gonna say: Where are the Lifepods then? Well, if they dragged the Lifepods over to the Back of the Aurora, who's to say the Lifepods didn't get Buried by the Reaper Leviathan Swimming Routine, not to mention the fact that a lot of the Sand back there was completely jumbled up (Probably not because of the Reapers but because if the Aurora's Impact). Another Option of Lifepod Disposal Leads me to a Voicelog from BZ: (Spoilers for Marguerite Maida's Story after the Degasi) Alright, so: After the Reaper Attacked, it is stated that Marguerite battled with the Reaper up until the Point where the Reaper decided to plunge itself into the Void, possibly in the Hopes of getting rid of her. Instead Marguerite finishes the Reaper off down there. Then comes the Part where she Realizes she's in the Middle of Void with no Idea where she is and the whole Reaper Raft Thing, but that's currently not important. Whats important is the Fact that the Reaper decided to drag her down into the Void to eat/dispose of her. So the "Dropping into the Void" Theory would still work, if a bit different (It's far fetched, I know)
Somewhat unrelated but my theory as to why we survived is because of a few things. 1: we know from lifepod 17’s audio log that many pods got damaged or were close to being damaged by HUGE debris chunks, these most likely broke off of the aurora with much more speed than the lifepods, so Riley was lucky as they managed to get into a lifepod very quickly, why? Well they are a maintenance chief, albeit non-essential. They were doing work near the lifepod bay. That also explains why nobody joined them in the lifepod, as Riley knew that if he waited any longer he risked never even reaching the planet. 2: Riley landed in the safe shallows. This is a very simple reason as to why he survived, he simply landed somewhere lucky. A lot of the lifepods were destroyed by creatures after landing. 3: He isn’t stupid. As we learn many lifepods succumbed to human error. Like lifepod 6. Plus Riley has some maintenance experience, which as we know from what the PDA says in the drive core, the repair tool still requires SOME skill.
Here is a good one Possibility #10 The life pods went into orbit and landed onto other parts of the planet, some in the void and some in other parts of the planet. For example, the Below Zero Crater or other upcoming game locations.
If a lifepod sank in the void, it is more likely it would have imploded before the occupant could starve/suffocate. Assuming the leviathans didn't tear it open, as the reapers did with some of the ones the player actually does find.
What is a pod crashed into the enforcement platform and the nearby reaper destroyed the remaining bits because the pod would most likely fall into the water
My theory is that maybe most of the people didn’t make it in time cause you know how it says when you enter the aurora that there was human tissue so I was thinking that the lifepods were destroyed by impact to the ground.
Imagine if we got a game where we were another survivor on 4546B. Our lifepod fell in the void but was going so fast it went right by the ghost leviathans and got to the bottom of the void. In the game youd be able to explore the void in its entirety. Obviously the area you start in would be inhabited by ghost leviathans or anything hostile but as you go further you discover many new biomes and fauna. Yk how subnautica had a little land and below zero had more well in this game sense your lifepod landed at the bottom of the void there would be no land. A problem that comes up is "well if your that deep then wouldent it be impossible to survive bdcause the water pressure would crush everything?" Yes. But its a video game! Also how would you beat the game? Well id say itd have a bad ending, kind of. You build a underwater rocket thing to fly up and away and as your doing it you get out of the water and you see rileys rocket leaving. But then the ship gets yanked down and you see a ghost leviathan jump out of the water and bring you back down. The lights blink red, a hole is made and water starts flooding in, then you see the ghost leviathan head to head before it roars and the screen cuts to black, cueing the credits. I could see it being called "Subnautica Deep End" or something. I think itd be fun and intresting idk. Edit: i came up with an idea. It could be a rust type multiplayer game where you and up to 15 other people could start a world. There would be a map similar to subnautica where there would be three safe areas near the middle and your life pods would all be in them. I think it would be interesting and make it unique.
Fauna. And do you realize how powerful reentry heat is? EVEN METAL BREAKS! (even vaporizes) There is literally plasma. It's like saying that: ok car exploded and there is no car but where are corpses but it is even worse scenario. And fauna.
Epic video. I do have two things I want to bring up though. First one is at 3:10. The Aurora was most likely flying at the edge of the atmosphere. If the Aurora was in a stable orbit, they would not have hit the planet, they just would have sat there. (also why would the precursor gun fire at them if they were cruising in a stable orbit) , so even if life pods maintained their speed, the atmosphere would slowly degrade their orbit. The second is at 6:00. Because of the way the atmosphere would slow down the life pods (and their terminal velocity) would cause them to land far from the crash site of the Aurora. That makes me think that Riley was actually one of the last crewmen off, considering how close he was to the Aurora.
"The Aurora suffered orbital hull failure. Cause: unknown. Zero human life signs detected." But it was probably orbit with high max altitute point and very low lowest point (Because it happend right after slingshot so it might be on trajectory to słów down using atmosphere).
Maybe that one (or several) lifepod landed on the sector zero because the lifepods were Ejected on 4546B, so it is possible that one (or several) lifepod would have gone around the atmosphere and finally crashed into the sector zero
I think it’s also possible that the precursors warpers went around and destroyed them because it looks like some of they were blown out from the inside almost which could’ve been the warpers
Sidenote: Lifepod 13 was not destroyed by atmospheric entry, but destroyed the critical landing systems. This caused the drag-centered slow-down system to fail, and big splash.
I have something to add to theory 2 maybe the aurora had the lifepods split into 2 on both sides of it so the other 15 pods were ejected into space:edit another theory I have is that they collided mid air and their pods systems failed

Lifepod 7: Might of been badly damaged, and hull breached
Khasar: maybe attacked by boneshark
Lifepod 3: died by stalkers
Well, this is according to distress calls
Yes, but this video is asking what happened to the other life pods besides the wrecked ones we can find...
Ozzy: attacked by crabsnakes, not sand sharks.
CTO & Keen: killed by an unspecified leviathan, likely a reaper.
4: reaper.
Khassar: died before planetfall.
3: their seaglide exploded.
Berkley/2: unknown fate, possibly killed by warper?
12: died of unknown alien infection, caused green glowing green blisters.
6: fire + fuel line = boom.
7: couldn't fabricate proper equipment due to a busted fabricater.
Another confirmed death is considered to be keen, to apparently a warper

That should be from a hidden lifepod on the wall of the crater, deep in the void. Or slowly sinking, as only one of the buoyancy pads works, and all systems are trying to keep it afloat, but there is only a pda containing that log, and a torn hatch.

@@danielarcher1797 let's just pretend that this guy had enough plot armour to escape
Sea dragon, the emperor doesn’t want to eat you, they want you to help their kids hatch before they die
fun fact: ryley robinson wasn't the only survivor, another lifepod way out of the wreckage of the aurora survived. story continues with Subnautica 3: Craters Edge

Your videos are amazing and the editing is great your videos encourage me to work harder with my videos. So thank you for that 🙂
one could’ve landed in one of the hydrothermal vents that are at the deep ocean floor and then gotten destroyed by the lava.
What if some life pods were propelled by the explosion, and launched to other biomes, like the arctic biome?
What if other life pod successfully "launched" but:
- Due to damage to Aurora systems it weren't noted
- They got out because of explosion

So the "Dropping into the Void" Theory would still work, if a bit different (It's far fetched, I know)
Makes sense. Thanks for the input, was a nice read
Ok, but can we talk about how altera has a 4% survival rate for their life pods? like, they must have cut cornered somewhere
Floatation. It’s floatation. That’s what they cut corners on.
Riley has dream level luck
Suspicious amounts

8:40 another option: chrushed by too much pressure
btw there is extra possibility: the life-pods were eaten by the stalkers.
Stalkers are too small
Maybe reapers again
@@everyfiend835 maybe too small, but they work in groups.
Like pirahnas.

Great video 👍
If a lifepod sank in the void, it is more likely it would have imploded before the occupant could starve/suffocate. Assuming the leviathans didn't tear it open, as the reapers did with some of the ones the player actually does find.
True, but when has 8000 meters deep worth of pressure killed the player
What is a pod crashed into the enforcement platform and the nearby reaper destroyed the remaining bits because the pod would most likely fall into the water
probably all the other lifepods just landed in the void and got eaten by ghost leviathans and other creatures.
My theory is that maybe most of the people didn’t make it in time cause you know how it says when you enter the aurora that there was human tissue so I was thinking that the lifepods were destroyed by impact to the ground.
but 25 life pods were launched the other 25 life pods blew up
you’re literally my favourite subnautica yt creator. keep up the great work
Imagine if we got a game where we were another survivor on 4546B.
3:36 that would be *_AMAZING_* if a lifepod is found in sector 0! it's quite plausible, too!
Why are there no bodies around?
They could have burned up while entering the atmosphere but there would still be charred bodies
Fauna. And do you realize how powerful reentry heat is? EVEN METAL BREAKS! (even vaporizes) There is literally plasma.
It's like saying that: ok car exploded and there is no car but where are corpses but it is even worse scenario.
And fauna.
We also have to remember that if there were bodies lying around it wouldn't be rated what it is...
Zero human life signs detected."
But it was probably orbit with high max altitute point and very low lowest point (Because it happend right after slingshot so it might be on trajectory to słów down using atmosphere).
How speedy are you in MPH?

Maybe that one (or several) lifepod landed on the sector zero because the lifepods were Ejected on 4546B, so it is possible that one (or several) lifepod would have gone around the atmosphere and finally crashed into the sector zero

I think it’s also possible that the precursors warpers went around and destroyed them because it looks like some of they were blown out from the inside almost which could’ve been the warpers
Sidenote: Lifepod 13 was not destroyed by atmospheric entry, but destroyed the critical landing systems. This caused the drag-centered slow-down system to fail, and big splash.
It could also be possible that the sea gragon or reaper dragged some of the life pods to unreachable area maybe some goth melted in de lava zone
thats a good thery
