Kinda cool that Elora has unused lines narrating the level intros and outros, but I'm not upset about it being removed. It wasn't necessary to understand the scenes, and I think the versions without narration ended up being more charming anyway.
JUST CAME FROM TWITTER! Edit 2 years and almost 4 months later: How has it already been almost 2 and a half years since this video came out…? This time gap is criminal!!
A new prototypes arrived at long last. This will be a blast. ;D Also, Elora's intro and outro narrating's were a thing?! Charming, but i think making them silent was a right move. You can actually SEE whats happening and its conveyed rather well.
I kind of hoped this would be the build with the additional doorway in the hula arena. I wanted to see what the original intended path was for Colossus Springs.
@@bayl2329 I hate that they did this, it means we don't have the cutscene music without voice. But I understand that the PlayStation could only stream one audio file at a time, so the alternative would have been sequenced music, which probably wouldn't work well with the music that was composed for the scene, and also would be a whole other music driver to code that the game would make little use of.
But this is also probably why so many cutscenes had completely different music in the remake. No clean rip for classic mode, and nothing clean to listen to in an attempt to recreate it for the reignited soundtrack.
@@Hwd405 , thank you for the response. It's fascinating that it was the only instance of that in this prototype. I would have figured there would be more, even if Zoe doesn't have many lines in the later part of the game.
@@asra-5180 What about it? There were three versions of Spyro 2. NTSC (United Sates), PAL (EU), NTSC-J (Japan) NTSC-J is the only version that kept the lines. Its also the most 'updated' with fixed bugs like double jump, and additional content like dragonfly eggs.

@Jon Acosta Funny you say that because they did intro dialogue for the Japanese version.
But she explains why Breeze Harbor and Zephyr are at war with each other. Before it was just a mystery.
This is amazing! Elora has much more to say this time around.
Prototype-Sparx is my sleep paralysis demon.
It's the same Sparx model from Spyro 1
I can see that, but its textures are hilariously whack and unfinalized. Lmao

What is also interesting is that Foreman Fred is a cut NPC who tells you (Spyro) to come back to learn how to swim.

Today marks a great day for PS1 prototype preservation!

The charging animation is slightly different, it looks more like the spyro 1 one
The gem cutters saying they have crops of gems being eaten implies they grow gems like grains or vegetables.
The prototype opening I saw in the Target’s get into the game a couple years ago.
I kind of hoped this would be the build with the additional doorway in the hula arena. I wanted to see what the original intended path was for Colossus Springs.
Wish we could get a build with the cut enemies. If that even exists
It's crazy how the dialogue for the opening cutscene sounds a lot better and less compressed than the final build. I wonder what happened.
might have something to do with the music being inside the dialogue

@@ErdrickHeroat least the remake fixed it?
@@DamnZtar No! The very problem is that the original cutscene music is all lost.
Holy cow I can’t wait to watch all of this! Amazing finds
That's so cool, good stuff we've been blessed with knowing! How do we get these prototypes anyway?

Proto-Sparx looks like he's seen some shit...
I like that this Sparx looks like Spyro 1 Sparx
This is awesome 😄❤
WTF THEY DID TO SPARX
Snake eyes to cartoon eyes.
Different voice actor for Zoe at 22:44? Perhaps an audio glitch?
Not a glitch, it’s just not pitched up like the final

I wonder why they removed Eloras dialogue during those cutscenes

Translating them. It would've cost more money. Which honestly sucks.
