@MDFishTanks when will you drop the video with you and Matt?
Hey, I really wanna do what you’re doing I love your lifestyle, if there’s anyway you could get me involved in your community I would be so very delighted! I’m from Canada btw and I’ve got a couple tanks that I want your opinion on:) thanks in advance
I love going to ADG! Jeff's scapes are just amazing, like a living art gallery. I bring my newbie friends there to start their fish addiction. Lol
This was amazing, I've learned so much from this video! Jeff & MD what a team!
The man himself!
Mr.jeff done exactly same greening with Mr.Mayur dev aquascaper INDIA.
check out his channel too. Same name. Free promotion for the hobby hahaha 😄. Additionally I like your experiments too Mr.MJ 😉
Nice to see MJ here. I watch your channel as well. I think it’s great that you all support and learn from each other. It’s so inspiring! I love this community🥰🐠🌱🪨🌱🐟
Md Fish tanks, MJ Aquascaping and Serpa design are my go to fish channels.
@@geoffprince2258Me too. The perfect combo 😊❤
11:40 "Have a look at these branches.... they look like part of a tree" - MD, September 2023 😆
Haha. Literally thought that when editing but kept it in 😂😂
No way this guy just said ‘I could but there’s something sometimes in limiting the access to materials to really make you extract the most impact from what’s there’ THATS DEEP
Right? Makes me feel like maybe I can create something that doesn't look like poop on my limited budget!
Yeah that was absolutely beautiful him saying that. I applaud this man!
MD is on 🔥 this month dropping the best fish content, just want to say thank you for allowing us to be apart of your experience at ADG, and ADG letting us in on beneficial information to help expand our fish minds, as well as our fish scapes.
Jeff has such a good taste. And trained with Amano himself, how awesome is that
This Man’s mind is amazing that tank turned out so awesome looking
When you reach a certain level of expertise, you start hanging with the elite - Well done MD.
This video was so engrossing, I hung on every word. How fascinating to hear Jeff’s process. The tank is spectacular! I absolutely loved this. You did a fabulous job on this video MD, thank you for all your hard work.
There is nothing better than relaxing and watching one of MD’s vids
That guys amazing. Looking forward to seeing how he influences your own scapes
Absolutely beautiful hard scape with greening. I am so glad you have been able to make some great friends on this side of the pond. Thanks to both of you for this video! Cheers!
Been watching since you were in your garden shed. This is one of the best videos you've done; absolutely fascinating watching you, an expert, learning from a master.
Just 🤩 wow… what a great looking tank…. Could just sit and watch that for ages…
What a stunning gallery and warehouse. So fun to see this masterclass. I love your collab, MD, with this awesome artist. Always quality stuff you give us! Now if only Matt joined in, it'd be heaven!
I absolutely love danios and I can't believe I've never had glowlights before; I need to get some! Later, because I'll be moving shortly, but I still have one brand new tank sitting in the box ready to go so I know what my inspiration for the next scape will be! What an amazing place, an amazing tank, and an amazing opportunity for all of us to see this many years of experience in action!
MD visits the Aquarium Bob Ross 👍
That looks incredible, thank you for filming the process
So inspiring!
To be completely honest I don’t vibe with those “professionals” or their videos. That’s why I love your MD “amateur” versions and videos because those are realistic and enjoyable to watch. Highly respect everyone in the aquarium hobby.
Jeff’s a genius. Very humble about his skills too. Would love to buy that tank
Thank you for this and thanks to Jeff for sharing his process with us. as a Saltwater reefer how is thinking of turning a large tank into planted FW was not sure where to begin. Jeff made it easy to understand and WOW the results speak for them self. what a great way to look at and create FW planted tank!
great job.
on a side note you could tell MD was trying so hard to hold back all the jokes that he and Fish store Matt too. but a few did slip through.
Wonderful. The concept of ‘greening’ is the perfect balance between a planted tank and a fish tank - nature inspired art as opposed trying to replicate nature. Thank you.
I just had a full circle moment. I watched this video and months later was in Houston and went here having forgotten about the video. Just stumbled back across the video and realized the tank I saw in person I had watched by made. Kinda crazy. Love this style. I want to do it on a shallow tank.
Love this series. Hope you're enjoying your time in the States!
Thank you, MD and Jeff! What a magnificent video. Great collaboration.
What a place, and you're doing a fantastic job showing us around along with the team from ADG. Thanks, I hope you consider this type of series again in the future. Once again, great job!!
What a amazing scape.. and the water is so clear.... a amazing place definately on a go to wish list.....😊
I really love jeffs style of aquascaping I'm definitely gonna make some greening and hardscape only tanks in the future, they just look so clean and minimalist it looks. I love it. thanks for all the awesome videos of the ADG gallery!
Wow ok, so it turns out hardscaping hasn’t only been my trade for the last 20 years, but now is part of my new hobby as well 🙌🏻
So cool that there are masters around who studied under the legend, Amano. Awesome tank.
I too enjoy having some good impact from the backside!
What a fantastic video! Love the scape and fish.💚👌
I had the biggest smile on my face seeing this completed scape. Wow. This was indeed a MASTERCLASS.
My god this is a beautiful tank and collab!!!!! We need more collabs like this! This is art
YES - I love what he said about limiting his choices of wood and rock and finding a way to make it work. That is what really happens. I have these specific rocks to work with - how to make them look their best. I have these specific pieces of wood to work with - how to make them look their best. What to leave out, what to keep, where to place for maximum impact.
I'm really loving this series of videos. The tanks are all so amazing! I have sort of been "greening" one of my existing aquariums. It's a 75 gallon with a gravel substrate. I didn't even know you could put real plants in one, so I used to have lots of fake plants, but now I keep adding anubias, and java fern to driftwood (and threw out the plastic plants). I was worried that I don't have dirt and sand in it, but now I don't feel so bad about it.
Some tanks experience greening without any plants in them at all! 😂
@@Tugela60 So true! lol
Fabulous video, could watch this all day long. Thanks MD for the great work!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Bravo from Romania Dracula land ❤🎉
I hate that I missed an opportunity to meet you in person! I'm from Houston and didn't see you were here until Sunday after you left! I'll catch you in 6 months tho!
Going to give this ago in the next couple of weeks!
They look great!
This scape is absolutely stunning thank you Jeff and thank you MD for Visiting.
I like the fact that you are very humble MD but you are WAAAAY to humble!! ALL of your tanks look MUCH better than what this guy has, you should be teaching him!
Loved this collab. Jeff has such a great humble attitude about everything. Great work gentlemen!
Such a cool scape amazing contemporary and stylish techniques from ADG.💯💯💯
Anthracite is indeed a form of carbon. Specifically, it is a very high grade of coal which has a low sulphur content. Just thought people, including Jeff and MD might want to know.
Ahhh finally an aquascaper that thinks like I do …. 😅😂
Great place I buy my fish from them all the time and wood and rocks... great place great people and beautiful tanks
Hi MD! I love this style, would it be possible to have a video or explanation on how Jeff suggests to maintain such aquascapes in term of balancing CO2 - Lighting and Nutrient dosing?
You’ve come a long way, I remember the video when George visited you in your first Shed and it was a big deal for you.. Look at you now!! 💪🏽💪🏽
Why not experiment? Many regimes work lol. EI, lean dosing, etc. For CO2 use a drop checker lol? Light...go up until there is a problem, then reduce a little 😅
I have loved every episode of this series! This tank here is my favorite so far, I think. Although I've thought that for each episode..LOL! Thanks MD and Jeff, for bringing us to such a beautiful place. Watching a master at work, can't get any better then that! Looking forward to seeing what lessons you have learned, and will bring back to the studio with you. It's been an absolute pleasure watching Jeff do his magic.
you always make such beautiful tanks and It inspires me
I’ve never seen a tank with water THAT CLEAR😮😮😮😮😊
I'll grab the popcorn!
That’s my Houston boy! Excited to see ADG on here!
Jeff and the ADG gang are definitely talented. Great store and gallery, thank you!
Ein wunderschönes Scape! Jeff hat scheinbar viel von Takashi Amano gelernt. Der Tipp mit der Kohle in der Einfahrphase ist top! 👍
so beautiful tank.. simple and elegant
🤤 the hardscape in storage.... omg
I know, right?!
Oh no, not the "flow" joke. Jeff did not look impressed. What an amazing video and a stunning tank..... love it
absolutely love this video, i do however have a bit of a nitpick, and its a personal experience thing. I dont think Amano would teach it if he was not certain about it, but any time i have ever had activated carbon in my fish tanks i have had problems. In my first couple of years of aquascaping i had a HUGE problem with Green water. It happened in a season where im busy with work, and did not catch it as it started progressing. I TRIED EVERYTHING. I still have the U.V. Sterilizer i bought which was the biggest one they sold. I dosed hydrogen peroxide, i dosed seachem excel. Any small thing i found on the internet to deal with green water i had tried. On top of all the different products i had to help with it, i was doing 10 gallon water changes almost every single day, this was on a 20 gallon tank so 50% water changes EVERY day. All of it had minimal impact on the production of the green water. It got to the point i nearly exited the hobby. The water changes kept it down to where it was in its formation stage, so cloudy water but i was FED UP!. The entire time i was dealing with it, i had this nagging feeling that it was something to do with the activated carbon in my filter. I dont remember specifically why, but it was just there in the back of my mind. I talked to my LFS multiple times about it, and he was out of solutions to try, and i was at my wits end with the tank. So finally on one of my normal maintenance days, i finally ripped my filter apart and removed the carbon, replacing it with just filter floss. Then continued the regiment of water changes, and treating the water with Hydrogen Peroxide. After two water changes the water was clear, and it stayed that way. I wish i had gone with my gut feeling to begin with, because it would have saved me a lot of time and some money.
I dont know why it worked, but it 100% did. I have not used Carbon in ANY tank since that time. I think that this might be one area of fish tank science that is absolutely ripe for a deep dive, and also is 100% going to be a controversial topic, as the actual results of using activated carbon are obviously not understood. I can though understand how having it in for the first 30 days could be beneficial as a way to absorb access nutrients, and other chemicals that might be getting added at that time. However, i have done at least 10 new scapes after having solved this issue, and none of them ever had carbon in them.
I would really love to find someone who has done a deep dive of carbon in the aquarium.
"How cool are these branches? .... They look like part of... a tree" @11:40 - love the vids!
You know what I’m seeing, Jeff? A rock
Master class indeed. Great video brother.
Wow, absolutely amazing work. Beautiful aquascape.
Thanks for highlighting my comment MD
Jeff tanks are amazing. I love that you still get to see the hard scape even though he greens it. His voice is so calming he should do some sleep meditations on RUclips as a side line Lol 😂
Looooove it! Thank you for taking us with you on this trip.
Superb content MD! Thanks for coming all the way over to the USA to film this. I hope you will visit other places like this and continue to expand your knowledge with us.
Wow true master makes it look effortless stunning thanks for sharing this experience MD
Awesome build awesome insights!
Super clean cool warm looking tank ❤ awesome setup here 🙏🏻
Stunning
Really love this video, quality in so many ways. Artists at work!
Nice one Jeff well done
Love this collab!
In one of my tanks I have Glowlight Danios, Sterbai Corys, orange neocaridina shrimp, and a super red bristlenose. So basically all orange-ish fauna. It's my favorite tank by far!
Someone needs to make a school of aquarium design. Jeff could be a department head professor. I think MD is definitely a grad student working on his PhD, and will likely join the staff as a tenure track professor as soon as he graduates. Right now, he only has a few more classes to go before he can start his dissertation, but once that's all taken care of, he will definitely be tenure track material. Welcome to the department of Aquarium Sciences and Design at King's College, Cambridge MD!
Absolutely Gorgeous and I love it... I live in San Antonio Texas so driving to Houston is not to bad... I'm definitely heading over there soon... Always love your content and so glad I met you at Aquashella in Dallas... You're awesome brother... Totally deserve all your wonderful success... ❤ 😊
Hey MD don’t worry about choosing fish now you have a perfect partner Mr.Matthew the fish shop Matt indeed 😂
Love the in-depth discussion.
Great video! Such much food for thought! Thank you both for the great content 🐟🌱
You are this good MD. You could do any of those tanks.
SO COOOOOOOOL!!!!!!
Oh wow!! Thank you MD! This is beautiful! Jeff, I hope you take "copying" as a compliment! After 2 years of research & budgeting I'm about ready to pull the trigger on having my first tank since I was a kid and this style is really impactful and looks like the fish are so happy! Can someone tell me would Apistos or Rams be happy living under those rock ledges AND I'm always up for a good road trip around the Western USA and I've been thinking about "harvesting" my own hardscape but where to go and how to know if a rock is safe or not? All my research said was "no copper"!
Rams are awesome, just remember they like it hotter than a lot of other tropical fish. I keep my Ram tank about 82 degrees, so there are some limitations on what you can do with them. I think they're awesome and will probably always keep some. Temperature is why you'll hear occasionally that Rams are challenging fish to keep... sometimes people don't realize they need it to be a little warmer than the "green zone" on the thermometer 😊
@@maxredd6207 Thank you very much for sharing that, I read several times about their range but it's good to know from someone with practical experience that they like the higher end. What kind of rams do you keep? Have you had them breed? (LOL! I know! Lofty goals for someone who is waiting for Black Friday to purchase her hard goods!)
@@GenXHeart German Blues and Gold Head Electric Blues so far, but I've got plans to keep others in the future! As for breeding, I haven't tried it yet. They're kind of the centerpiece fish in a 45 gallon community tank along with the Honey Gouramis. I may try a breeding project down the road, but I'm going to start with Bettas, which are my other fish love :)
@@maxredd6207 Sounds similar to the tank I hope to create! I love betas too! Breeding them looks like crazy work but has to be SO fun to see what you get! Earlier today I bundled up my strawberry runners and lowered them in the tank similar to how I usually do to root spider plant shoots and my beta cracked me up, checked them out, apparently he approves and has a new hangout spot. lol Like an XL patio umbrella.
@@GenXHeart mine hangs out on the big leaves from my Dwarf Tiger Lotus'. He loves that thing!
So beautiful. Fantastic work boys.
Hey md! Absolutely love your videos, I’ve learnt so much from you and put it towards my own tanks. I now work at a Maidenhead too as a result of this! I was thinking a good idea for a video could be looking at viewer submissions of their tanks and / issues, and giving them tips and pointers on how to improve, or any answers to their queries. Kind of like a monthly q and a! Would be really useful
Oh, how neat! 😊
Wonderful and inspiring creativity.
I love how pygmy Cory's will attempt to school with any schooling fish. They're honestly the absolute best.
🌱🌱 too much beautiful 💚💚
Amazed scape, Jeffs a cool guy 👌🏻
Absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏
Brilliant scape, but I do have a question. Can you set up a "greening" tank without CO2?
Oh this is cool, i thought this was your studio
Gute Arbeit. Good work.
Absolutely beautiful. Job well done
Beautiful
Beautiful 😍😍😍
I love your video's!!! Watching them with so much pleasure every time!!
Can you make a scape for clownbotia? I'm very curious what you make and what kind of fish you put with them.
I ask because I really want to have them and hope you can inspire me for a scape for them.
Again, love your video's!!!!
Hello,
Really beautiful.
Which fert do they use?
As always I enjoyed this video. It was fun having you ask the questions rather doing the work. I didn't see the name of the black glue. Do you recall?
sweet tank!
