Hey, I really wanna do what you’re doing I love your lifestyle, if there’s anyway you could get me involved in your community I would be so very delighted! I’m from Canada btw and I’ve got a couple tanks that I want your opinion on:) thanks in advance
Mr.jeff done exactly same greening with Mr.Mayur dev aquascaper INDIA. check out his channel too. Same name. Free promotion for the hobby hahaha 😄. Additionally I like your experiments too Mr.MJ 😉
Nice to see MJ here. I watch your channel as well. I think it’s great that you all support and learn from each other. It’s so inspiring! I love this community🥰🐠🌱🪨🌱🐟
MD is on 🔥 this month dropping the best fish content, just want to say thank you for allowing us to be apart of your experience at ADG, and ADG letting us in on beneficial information to help expand our fish minds, as well as our fish scapes.
This video was so engrossing, I hung on every word. How fascinating to hear Jeff’s process. The tank is spectacular! I absolutely loved this. You did a fabulous job on this video MD, thank you for all your hard work.
Been watching since you were in your garden shed. This is one of the best videos you've done; absolutely fascinating watching you, an expert, learning from a master.
Absolutely beautiful hard scape with greening. I am so glad you have been able to make some great friends on this side of the pond. Thanks to both of you for this video! Cheers!
No way this guy just said ‘I could but there’s something sometimes in limiting the access to materials to really make you extract the most impact from what’s there’ THATS DEEP
Wonderful. The concept of ‘greening’ is the perfect balance between a planted tank and a fish tank - nature inspired art as opposed trying to replicate nature. Thank you.
Jeffs 'Green Concept' (epiphytes, wood or rock for hard scape, layer of sand) is working exceptionally well based on using matrix, lots of carbon in the beginning and purigen as filter material. I think he has created his own style like a fotographer (or any other artist) would do to separate himself from competitors. Hats off! 👍👍👍
What a stunning gallery and warehouse. So fun to see this masterclass. I love your collab, MD, with this awesome artist. Always quality stuff you give us! Now if only Matt joined in, it'd be heaven!
Thank you for this and thanks to Jeff for sharing his process with us. as a Saltwater reefer how is thinking of turning a large tank into planted FW was not sure where to begin. Jeff made it easy to understand and WOW the results speak for them self. what a great way to look at and create FW planted tank! great job. on a side note you could tell MD was trying so hard to hold back all the jokes that he and Fish store Matt too. but a few did slip through.
I really love jeffs style of aquascaping I'm definitely gonna make some greening and hardscape only tanks in the future, they just look so clean and minimalist it looks. I love it. thanks for all the awesome videos of the ADG gallery!
To be completely honest I don’t vibe with those “professionals” or their videos. That’s why I love your MD “amateur” versions and videos because those are realistic and enjoyable to watch. Highly respect everyone in the aquarium hobby.
What a place, and you're doing a fantastic job showing us around along with the team from ADG. Thanks, I hope you consider this type of series again in the future. Once again, great job!!
YES - I love what he said about limiting his choices of wood and rock and finding a way to make it work. That is what really happens. I have these specific rocks to work with - how to make them look their best. I have these specific pieces of wood to work with - how to make them look their best. What to leave out, what to keep, where to place for maximum impact.
I absolutely love danios and I can't believe I've never had glowlights before; I need to get some! Later, because I'll be moving shortly, but I still have one brand new tank sitting in the box ready to go so I know what my inspiration for the next scape will be! What an amazing place, an amazing tank, and an amazing opportunity for all of us to see this many years of experience in action!
I just had a full circle moment. I watched this video and months later was in Houston and went here having forgotten about the video. Just stumbled back across the video and realized the tank I saw in person I had watched by made. Kinda crazy. Love this style. I want to do it on a shallow tank.
I have loved every episode of this series! This tank here is my favorite so far, I think. Although I've thought that for each episode..LOL! Thanks MD and Jeff, for bringing us to such a beautiful place. Watching a master at work, can't get any better then that! Looking forward to seeing what lessons you have learned, and will bring back to the studio with you. It's been an absolute pleasure watching Jeff do his magic.
Superb content MD! Thanks for coming all the way over to the USA to film this. I hope you will visit other places like this and continue to expand your knowledge with us.
I'm really loving this series of videos. The tanks are all so amazing! I have sort of been "greening" one of my existing aquariums. It's a 75 gallon with a gravel substrate. I didn't even know you could put real plants in one, so I used to have lots of fake plants, but now I keep adding anubias, and java fern to driftwood (and threw out the plastic plants). I was worried that I don't have dirt and sand in it, but now I don't feel so bad about it.

Jeff has such a good taste. And trained with Amano himself, how awesome is that

Yeah that was absolutely beautiful him saying that. I applaud this man!

Loved this collab. Jeff has such a great humble attitude about everything. Great work gentlemen!
This scape is absolutely stunning thank you Jeff and thank you MD for Visiting.
So cool that there are masters around who studied under the legend, Amano. Awesome tank.
I just bought this same filter second hand (my first canister filter) I re-watched this video just for the filter advice! Thank you!
🤤 the hardscape in storage.... omg
I know, right?!
Ein wunderschönes Scape! Jeff hat scheinbar viel von Takashi Amano gelernt. Der Tipp mit der Kohle in der Einfahrphase ist top! 👍

Absolutely gorgeous!
Wow true master makes it look effortless stunning thanks for sharing this experience MD
Some tanks experience greening without any plants in them at all! 😂
@@Tugela60 So true! lol
Jeff tanks are amazing. I love that you still get to see the hard scape even though he greens it. His voice is so calming he should do some sleep meditations on RUclips as a side line Lol 😂
Absolutely beautiful. Job well done
Master class indeed. Great video brother.
Wow ok, so it turns out hardscaping hasn’t only been my trade for the last 20 years, but now is part of my new hobby as well 🙌🏻
Nice one Jeff well done
Stunning
Wonderful and inspiring creativity.
Getting an ADA 90p soon. Plan to try the greening method for the lower maintenance of not having to frequently trim the plants.
Awesome build awesome insights!
stunning work
You are this good MD. You could do any of those tanks.
Absolutely Gorgeous and I love it... I live in San Antonio Texas so driving to Houston is not to bad... I'm definitely heading over there soon... Always love your content and so glad I met you at Aquashella in Dallas... You're awesome brother... Totally deserve all your wonderful success... ❤ 😊
Love this collab!
Hey MD don’t worry about choosing fish now you have a perfect partner Mr.Matthew the fish shop Matt indeed 😂
Gute Arbeit. Good work.
absolutely love this video, i do however have a bit of a nitpick, and its a personal experience thing. I dont think Amano would teach it if he was not certain about it, but any time i have ever had activated carbon in my fish tanks i have had problems. In my first couple of years of aquascaping i had a HUGE problem with Green water. It happened in a season where im busy with work, and did not catch it as it started progressing. I TRIED EVERYTHING. I still have the U.V. Sterilizer i bought which was the biggest one they sold. I dosed hydrogen peroxide, i dosed seachem excel. Any small thing i found on the internet to deal with green water i had tried. On top of all the different products i had to help with it, i was doing 10 gallon water changes almost every single day, this was on a 20 gallon tank so 50% water changes EVERY day. All of it had minimal impact on the production of the green water. It got to the point i nearly exited the hobby. The water changes kept it down to where it was in its formation stage, so cloudy water but i was FED UP!. The entire time i was dealing with it, i had this nagging feeling that it was something to do with the activated carbon in my filter. I dont remember specifically why, but it was just there in the back of my mind. I talked to my LFS multiple times about it, and he was out of solutions to try, and i was at my wits end with the tank. So finally on one of my normal maintenance days, i finally ripped my filter apart and removed the carbon, replacing it with just filter floss. Then continued the regiment of water changes, and treating the water with Hydrogen Peroxide. After two water changes the water was clear, and it stayed that way. I wish i had gone with my gut feeling to begin with, because it would have saved me a lot of time and some money.
I dont know why it worked, but it 100% did. I have not used Carbon in ANY tank since that time. I think that this might be one area of fish tank science that is absolutely ripe for a deep dive, and also is 100% going to be a controversial topic, as the actual results of using activated carbon are obviously not understood. I can though understand how having it in for the first 30 days could be beneficial as a way to absorb access nutrients, and other chemicals that might be getting added at that time. However, i have done at least 10 new scapes after having solved this issue, and none of them ever had carbon in them.
I would really love to find someone who has done a deep dive of carbon in the aquarium.
Nice video watching from Kolkata in India ❤

Hi MD! I love this style, would it be possible to have a video or explanation on how Jeff suggests to maintain such aquascapes in term of balancing CO2 - Lighting and Nutrient dosing?
You’ve come a long way, I remember the video when George visited you in your first Shed and it was a big deal for you.. Look at you now!! 💪🏽💪🏽
Why not experiment? Many regimes work lol. EI, lean dosing, etc. For CO2 use a drop checker lol? Light...go up until there is a problem, then reduce a little 😅
Beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏
In one of my tanks I have Glowlight Danios, Sterbai Corys, orange neocaridina shrimp, and a super red bristlenose. So basically all orange-ish fauna. It's my favorite tank by far!

Thanks for sharing!
Great video and set up example of an Amano type aquarium. What were those tetras in the same tank as the dwarf corys, at 41:48? They looked like a Red Eye Tetra, but had a reflective spot at the base of the tail.
sweet tank!
That is an awesome tank
Thank you for continuing to make wonderful inspiring videos.
Can you list the actual plants, moss, rocks and wood in your description?
Good job
Such a phenomenal scape! Loved hearing Jeff's rationale and seeing his process throughout the entire video. Look forward to seeing how you interpret all these learnings from your trip MD. Great content coming up, no doubt!
Amazing!
