I have 2 olderJackery's The 500 and the 240.The 240 I use almost daily for running a small USB fan to cool off my Battery charger and Charge Controller and also a Tire air compressor for my mountain bike. Plus i like i can use the Jackery 500 power brick to charge the 240 in no time at all.
I bought one from Amazon on Black Friday for $349.00 (was $399.00 but they had $50 coupon and free shipping if I agreed to delivery in January which I guess is so they could buy them in a predictable bulk shipment). Hopefully I still get it at that price and it ships. My intent is to have this in the back pantry/washroom hooked up to my solar array (still waiting on that) which is going to be 1600 watts max, going into the MPPT to a 24 volt battery, and then the battery will have both connections to the solar input drawing 400 watts, and the Jackery will have a modern fridge plugged in as well as a small 250w ceramic heater to keep that area from freezing in the winter. Lots to work on for that but thanks for that detail about the 400W solar input. I too thought it was going to 600w, and that maybe there was the capability of more but it was underrated for some reason.
That's the only reason to buy this unit. It's inexpensive at $350. If you're willing to spend a hundred more then there are better options. Otherwise the solar charging limits are lame and the odd connectors are worse.
@@christopherdickson8307 I got the Anker C1000X for $429... It went to that price at the end of black Friday on Amazon. I got it on Wellbots though for the same price.
@@adriftatlas Yep, exactly and it gets me around the necessity for a permit since it will not be hooked into my house or grid power ! Plus my son will take it camping sometimes. I also have a 1200w (in reality 600w) wind turbine for the days when it is windy across my field which is pretty much every day. That will hook into the 24v battery, and I suppose I can use my old 1000w PS inverter hooked up to the battery as well, but that will be turned off most of the time. My son is tired of lugging his big Champion 8500w inverter generator to the campgrounds so that they can play music and run a rice cooker and a blender for drinks LOL. The jackery fits that need for 350 bucks. I could have built him a DYI in a milkcrate like Will Prowse did for half the cost, but being self contained and having the flexibility without looking too hokey sold it for me.
I got one for that price on Black Friday as well. It will be here tomorrow. I bought it to power the truck camper I'm currently building. I'm going to use a 600 watt DC power supply to power the camper's 12 volt fuse block. I also plan to have 400 watts of solar on the roof, but will also get a small 2000 watt inverter generator.
You are spot on about the company and their website. I absolutely hate misleading information on company websites. I believe it is often done intentionally. I have an older Jackery 500 and ordered the 1000 v2 on black friday, can't wait to get it. I've been happy with their products but not the company. Thanks for the excellent review.
@@jabbajawz Yeah I like the design and specs of the Anker a bit better due to the expandability and the extra outlets and the longer light in the front across the entire front. Kid would use that a lot camping. Also the 600W solar input would have been great, and I had seen it for $429, I would have snatched that up too. If I see them go on sale again in the future for THAT price, then yeah, I'm snatching one up and will let the kid have the Jackery full time.
You know… I have the original 1000 and notwithstanding the comments made, it’s a great device … and it’s lasting now 3 or 4 years from camping, boating, power outages and at the cottage.
I have the 1000V2, 300plus, 100plus. No problems, they all work as they should. Well build and solid, all the USB outlets line up in the housing (unlike my Anker 300AC). When charging/running loads, they might have louder fans, but don’t reach stupid high temperatures like my Anker 300AC. I ran my Anker 300 with a 275W load for an hour, it reached 52C/126F !!! I did the same with my Jackery 300Plus, it reached 37C/98F. I thought the Anker product would be superior to Jackery, I was wrong. Stick with something that isn’t going to burn your house down.
Couple of comments. (1) The plastic thing in the 120V plugs is most likely a tamper resistance feature, not water splash feature. Indoor outlets are now required to be TR, and that logically might be extending to power boxes. (2) It makes sense that they suggest 6 100W panels to actually provide 400W. If you use less than 6, likely you won't achieve 400W under any typical condition.
Got one a month ago for just $328 including tax! (sale, $60 coupon, $98 extra discount). So far I’m liking it but I haven’t put it through its paces yet. The design is great and the phone app for it is very helpful. The one thing I don’t like is the fact that I had to buy a 12v car charging cable aftermarket for $25. I wish they would stop cheaping out and include those cables…other than that I don’t have a whole lot of complaints. Also, I did not get the cable that you are showing in this video. The cable I got was just a straight traditional power supply cord with no USB inputs or anything else. I am curious about the cable that you showed in the video.
I really love your channel since you review EcoFlow Delta 3 plus and explained problems with hhe overheating... ONLY YPU! Everybody else showed only good sides of this station... These mid-size solar generators should be designed to be easily compatible a standard 400W mono panel (cheap and widely available) with a built-in MPPT and standard PV connector port . . . all those portable PV panels in the market are 2-3X more expensive ($/W) and many have proprietary funky DC connectors . . I really dislike proprietary connectors.
i love the remote internet control the station from anywhere internet available!!! I can remotely turn on ac , dc, and the integrated light. I can remote control the device to enter battery save mode to limit charge limit to 85%. I can see the temperature etc. awesome!!! I got my Jackery expkorer 1000 v2 for $380 or so from Amazon Thanksgiving deals. Btw the light is good but too much glare into eyes. The light is like a high beam into your eyes.
Why only 85%? if you want cell balancing, it needs to hit 100%. You'll eventually get cell drift and loss of capacity. You're way more likely to degrade cell from calendar aging than from just using it's full capacity. People seem to confuse LFP with LiPo. LFP is meant to be used and abused. LiPo doesn't like 100% SOC.
I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding something: I currently have 2 of the Jackery 240 model. Is the input port for the 1000 different from the port on my 240s? Because, yeah, that's definitely going to affect my plans to upgrade to a bigger one down the road.

The are thinking maybe somebody has a ~20A (12 AWG) extension cord they would like to use even though they are powering a ~12A device. Particularly useful for very long extension cords. Beyond that, the 1500W won't even fully power a 5-15R, which is rated for 1800W.
