Oh thank you so much, I’m so glad you’re finding my videos helpful! I was gifted a blending board several years ago and I struggled to find a use for it. All of the videos I found were of people preparing textured art batts and super colourful rolags. I wanted to spin repeatable, wearable yarns. It was only when I was trying to find different ways of preparing multi-coloured blended top that I picked up my blending board and properly fell in love with it. I haven’t got room for a drum carder so a blending board is perfect for me.
I have room for a drum carder either and I don't think that the amount of spinning I do would justify the expense. I've decided to make my own blending board. I got a really nice teak cutting board at a discount store. I'm now figuring out which carding cloth to order. I'm looking forward to being able to play with it! This fiber hobby is really addictive.@@KathrynCraftmehappy
@@zoedoodleBrilliant! I would probably have made my own if I knew more about carding cloth at the time. I would go for a higher tpi carding cloth, maybe 90+ and then use a dense brush to help draft the fibres on. I imagine a wide paintbrush with the bristles cut down would work well.
