They work even better IMO with 2 T75's on top with 2 V30's on bottom since the V30's are louder (not just higher sensitivity, but louder than most 100db speakers because of the aggressive upper mids).
I've been using the G12-75 in a 1960 A cab on DSL2000 with SM57 and Greenbacks in a 1960B cab and JVM205 with SH906, running together. The sount in the room and out of the monitors.....MY GOD!!! Those two speakers really blend well together. The sound is huge!
@@Dixie-Normus-209 yes, when pairing mixed speakers you add up the wattage based on the speakers with the lowest rating. I personally prefer to match speakers that are closer in wattage and efficiency but as malmsteen said, "If it sounds good then it's good."
I have T75 and V30 in X pattern in my Marshall 1960A cabinet, and live I also use this as a combination IR's in my Fractal units which sounds absolutely brutal!
I just picked up an EVH 80W Iconic head to go with my Marshall 1960A 2011 cabinet with the G12-T75 speakers. I have not had a chance to crank the amp up yet as I currently live in a condo. I will be transporting my head & cab to the practice place the band I am in rehearses at and I will be cranking it up there. Since you said that the G12-T75's are lacking in mids, and also the EVH Iconic, I'm thinking about turning the mids on the amp up and maybe setting my EQ mids higher to get more of that "in your face" sound like the Vintage 30 speakers. It just might work !!! I will, get back to you once I get my amp and Marshall cab over there to let her rip !!! Great video, very informative Euge. Thanks so kindly for taking the time to talk about this. Happy shredding brother, you're a great guitar player !!!
I wasn't really paying attention until you got to the G12-75s! Wow! They sound beastly! I have two Peavey 6505 cabs and am considering swapping out the stock Sheffields in one of them for something else. These are a good option!
2:18 The "12JN" on the sticker indicates the date this speaker was made. The sticker on yours indicates it was manufactured on the 12th of September, 2003.
@DanielRGuitars Thanks ! Trying to decide between the regular 1960B with the G12-T75s and the 1960BV 🤔 quite a price difference too… the Vintage 30 cab is like $500 more Canadian
Excellent. 👊 I took 2 UK made K100s out of my mode four cab and put them in my 1960B X pattern with vintage 30s awesome stuff. Have my 4 T75s all boxed up. Edit : The Creamback 65 with the T75 was awesome. 👏
Great video Euge! Some excellent points there you make about capturing the T75 with a mic. I personally use this speaker with a V30 and really love the 3 dimensional but still in your face sound you get from them, especially with an amp like a Soldano. Thanks Euge.
His sound is great. People just can't stand how it sings. It's just stubbornness and expectation. But he really made it his own and that's what it's good for. Satch also uses these speakers, who sounds quite different obviously, different pickups and drives not least of all. - And Maiden has mostly used them in their cabs as well.
I've got a jcm 800 2 x 12 from 84 it came with the vented og t75's mixed with a v30 its fantastic. i have old g12 65 and mojotone greenbacks in my other cabs and im not a fan of the v30 or t75 on its own but they sound great together.
Great video Euge!. I took out my late 90's G12T-75's in favor of some late 70's black back's (same as lead green backs but with black magnet covers) I use a '77 jmp 2204 and a 1970 superlead 100 with vintage SD-1. I love the sound of the black backs but I play at lower volume and I think the T-75's would sound better if I could crank them. My 25 watt blackbacks are gonna break up nice at lower volume of course and they have something to them compared to modern greenbacks, they are so smooth probably because the paper cones are broken in so much. Anyway I love your comparison videos. Keep them coming!
Great video, thank you very much! I like your videos because you always analyze what you hear and this is the most useful thing. As to the speaker, your T75 was made on 12 sept 2003 in China.
I came to say the same: the sticker with straight corners is a giveaway that it's made in China (made in England units have round corners). So it can't be from the '90s. 12JN is the date code, 12 stands for the day, J is the month = september, N is the year = 2003. It was after the factory move in 2003. I have Greenback units from 2004 and 2009 and they beat later units, the 2004 one sounds so full and vintagey, the 2009 ones sound so smooth, round and defined. It seems there was a shift in production specs afterwards, when harsher units became notorious (why Celestion did that, nobody knows).
Hell yeah! I've been using this lately (an IR) as a mic in the mix to give the sound that top end snarl. If you need to cut through in the mix this speaker can help for sure
I mostly listen to extreme metal and rock from the late 80s early 90s. that is what i grew up with. In that time period almost all albums were done in studios that recorderd with marshall cabs with celestion t75 in them. So for me when i think of Marshall tone, that's the Celestion t75 without a doubt. It has such a unique specific sound, nothing comes close. It's hillarious to see that you hardly find any impulse responses of stock marshall 4x12 with only t75 in them. These are the most recorderd speakers in history yet there are very few impulse responses of them hahaa. maybe that's the reason why internet people always chase tone and always have mediocre tone :))
Thanks to this video, I got some T75s to pair with my Marshall G12 Vintage speakers, and they sound killer in a Mojotone British 412. Thanks for the video, Euge!
Great video. I use a t75 in a randall iso cab at home, miced with a 906 and a 606. Very very happy with the sound! Way better than the v30 the iso cab came with. Other than that... a 4x12 cabinet blended with t75s and v30s are the best. For me.
Nicely done Euge.. all 3 speakers sound great. The T75 still has that bit of Fizz to the top end, but sounded great non the less. the T75 and Creamback blend sounded FAT... You could see the smile on your face when you were playing through that combo. haha
i'm using a marshall 1960a vintage cab with marshall uk vintage speakers and a 1960b lead with g12 t75's. i love the way they sound together. it creates a kind of mind blowing 3d sound like you describe that is very addicting. and you can change the way it sounds when you move your head in different directions until you find the sweet spot. you seem to have found it.
Excellent video, Euge! I love the Greenbacks sound (specially if it is vintage with the Pulsonic cone before 1973) and eventually blending the GBs with the G12T-75s - in a JCM 800 bias. Never really liked the V30s on its own, but the blend with the G12T-75s you just did called my attention, it sounded incredible! Cheers!
Man....mixing speaker's is the best idea...l find certain amps,weather it be a combo's or heads....shine with certain speakers....like V30s or creambacks...lve just added a creamback 75 to a 2x12 vintage 30.....so lm getting 60 watts frim the v30 and 75 watts from the creamback...this combination is solid.....
Do you like the Creamback or the Greenback more? They sound very close to me, the Greenback being slightly brighter. My speakers are the G12E-60’s. I want a brighter tighter speaker, more bite
I like ’em both but I tend go more often with Greenbacks; 25M & EVH. The 75H Creamback might be what you’re looking for. I have that and the 65M and the 75H is brighter & tighter.
Awesome and educational video! I'm not sure why the T75 gets as much hate as it does over the past decade. This video should help show the haters how good it sounds!
I have been using 2x UK made T75 and 2x UK made V30's in my Marshall cab for quite a while now. But i have V30 on the top and T75 on the bottom. I think it is a great sounding combination. Thanks for the great vid and agreeing it is a good combination of speakers. I enjoy watching all your videos. Cheers.
@@MrBlackHimself I initially did try both V30s on bottom and aldo in X pattern. But prefer the sound of the T75s on the bottom. More of a secondary speaker adding bottom end I feel this way. Thanks.
solo speaker i thought the vintage blew them away everytime(almost ready to order them from this vid alone) -Mixing the 2 i preferrred the 75 and the creamback weirdly enough ! great vid as always man!
My rig is an Engl Savage 120 MKII and old JCM800 cabinet with 4 G12-T75 speakers. I have no complaints but I would love to try a cabinet with V30's someday. This was very interesting!
Having recently built my setup, I replaced my crappy stock speakers with vintage 30’s and greenbacks. After seeing this, I wish I would’ve gotten those T-75’s. They really seem like their sound would just go through you. I achieved a good sound with what I got but damn, this very good comparison makes me wish I went with the 75’s. Very nice video comparison! 🤘🤘🤘
I love the video. I'm personally a fan off G-12 - T75 and because of all the reasons you have told and presented to us, it's so obvious that it sound's huge and it does not suck at all. It kick's ass!!!
On the 75/906, first thought was try moving the mic away from the speaker to reduce the proximity effect. Sometimes little changes there can make a huge difference. Also if you haven’t tried a v30 with a g12h30, that works extremely well.
O damn. This depth/darkness is exactly the part of the sound I am missing with the v30 2*12 now, will keep this speaker in mind! Switch one out maybe 😁 thanks for the video!
I am glad that I found your channel. I am fairly new to the tube amp game and it's great to find someone who is willing to educate the masses and chases the same sound that I do. My base sound has always been the "No More Tears" album. Right now, my main amp is the DSL 40. I've been able to get my sound for the most part with the stock speaker. I do have an EQ in the loop as well which might be doing more than I give it credit for. The Crunch channel with the SD-1 is pretty stout and is a fairly decent clone of the 800 sound. Anyways, a lot of people crap on the stock speaker, but I can't find a replacement that would give me a better sound with just the one speaker as the Celestion line up seems to need a combination to hit all the frequencies that our ears want to hear. I ask myself if would be better off just keeping the stock speaker or getting the T-75 and redo my EQ like you did? I ask this also, would it be a worthy (and fun) idea to try to get another DSL 40 and pair it with my Chorus Ensemble pedal in Stereo like Zakk Wylde, but with a V30 in one and the T75 in the other?
an idea you could do to save money (edit*depending if your DSL is the later model with the V-Type, or the older model with the seventy-80 speaker) is trying the T-75 alongside the stock V-Type in the other. In the room where you can't balance their levels, the V-Type is a quieter speaker than the V30 (97dB vs 100dB), the same as the T-75 (97dB) so if you wanted more of the T-75 character to come through, that might do a better job at that. I haven't had the chance to test this myself as I don't have a 2x12, but could be an experiment worth doing.
I'd bet an Eminence Swamp Thang and Creamback would work excellent together? They're both very distinct and have minimal overlapping frequencies. Together they'd crush all other pairings I can think of. Put 2 Eminence on the bottom, and 2 Creambacks up top, in a 412. That'd be the ultimate do anything cab of death! It's a project for a RUclips video, that would get massive attention. Euge is the guy for the job. Kick'n ass on the speaker content. Thanx for all the work buddy. Gets people thinking.
I remember the standard Marshall cabs in the 90s sounded awesome with the T75s, as did the Greenbacks. I have only heard YT demos of the modern T75s and to my ears they sound nothing like the old ones. And I'm not talking about having the speakers broken-in. The old ones sounded awesome brand-new in the store. I'll have to re-try the modern ones.
Man that sounds awesome. Haven't messed with T75s much, generally a digitil/IR player these days. I've avoided the T75 mixes in packs as they usually are harsh with sims. But I've only briefly tried those, and only the quick mixes/supposed perfect mic positions (as if someone knows what my perfect mic position is, it varies mix to mix). Cab in the room sound here, amazing. Makes me mis my DSL ❤
Wow. That chugging tone at 7:46 is amazing. This did not turn out how I thought it would. In many amp sim plugins I use, the G12-T75 is usually very bright and seems better for lead guitar and melodies. I often have to dial in some room or put a 57 off axis to soften the highs. In the plugins, the V30s and Greenbacks seem better for rhythm guitars because they are less harsh. But here the results were the opposite: the G12-T75 was scooped and the V30 was a bit harsh. I wish I could experiment with cabinets more in person but they are expensive and heavy. There are also so many variables: how the cabinets are built, when the speakers were made, and how they are wired in the cabinet. I do know 20 years ago when I was young I liked a big scooped Mesa sound. I did not like the Marshall DSL/TSL 2000s when they came out because I thought Marshalls in general lacked gain and distortion. But now in my 40s I now prefer a boosted Marshall sound with a slight scoop like what you have here. I grew up listening to a boosted JCM800/900 sound in the 80s and now I have returned to that amp instead of chasing 5150s and Bogners, Engls, Diezels, and other high gain boutique amps. I should have been putting a pedal in front of a Marshall the whole time. Listening to real cabs in a room I have heard a Marshall 1960B (not sure about the speakers--around 2010 or so) and a Mesa Triple Rectifier oversized cab. I liked the Marshall much more because it sounded much tighter in the lows than the Mesa cab. Thanks as always for your knowledge you share with us, Euge. 🙏
Cabinet construction only matters at the room. Through a microphone the only variable is the speakers tolerance that may make different speakers sound different even if they are the same model
@@ClaimedEagle Thanks. I thought the baffle construction inside the cab made a difference. I thought other than build quality (some cabs are more durable than others), the wood of the cab as well as its dimensions and weight made a difference. And most of us also know open back vs. closed back can mean a great difference in sound. I thought the mics would pick up all of these details. Also, because I am ignorant as far as matching cabs and speakers up to power amps in terms of impedance and wattage (especially with solid state power amps/modelers replacing tubes), I was never really comfortable mixing speaker types/wattages for fear of damaging something. I've also seen some debate about series vs. parallel wiring in the 4x12 cabinet changing the tone. I can see how mixing different speakers would make for a better overall tone though by balancing out frequencies. I have a 4x12 Carvin MTS3200 amp and cabinet, 400 watt cab, 100 watt head, circa 2000, which I'm guessing is a clone of Marshall's 1960 cab with some kind of Carvin made British voiced 100 watt speakers. The head sounds like it is going for JCM900 territory. I also have a Randall Cyclone head and Warhead 2x15" cab which is crazy rugged but massively heavy. The Randall just does solid state mid scooped high gain stuff--the only thing Randalls seem to do. Having a parametric mid and graphic EQ on that head is nice though. I browsed Marshall's page looking at their new cab offerings because I was considering a guitar cab vs. FRFS speakers for a modeling preamp like an Axe FX, Kemper, and Seymour Duncan Power Stage. Most of the current Marshall cabs on offer seem to be much lower wattages than cabs from the 80s-00s, although I realize we are now getting away from 100+ watt tube amps. My Randall Cyclone actually does 300 watts so finding cabs that can handle amps like that or higher wattage power amps seems to be a challenge. I'm aware that doubling wattage only makes about 3 db volume difference, but I would rather have higher wattage speakers so the power amp can be turned up safely. Thanks.
@@ClaimedEagle I would also think cab construction only mattering in the room would mean impulse response differences from cab to cab would be meaningless. If a mic only picks up speaker tolerance as a variable, then IR capture wouldn't pick up all the nuances of each cabinet/speaker/mic/space combination. That said all an impulse response is really is an EQ curve at a late stage in the signal chain. We just get that curve through cabs/speakers/mics/rooms.
Really underrated speaker, you can listen to it on records from early Deftones like White Pony until the early years of modern metal like Måsstaden from vildhjarta
Marshall has always paired those with their heads because it rounds out all of that Marshall mid range and it's very easy to dial up the mid range and balance it out which is also why they would always use the vintage 30 in the jubilee cabs because the jubilee was a lot darker of an amplifier. Combined, they are great and complement each other great also a K 100 or a K 85. And the old old school marshals yes they love the greenbacks or the cream backs but I do feel like an 800 with a good cabinet with those two blended is just solid awesomeness.
Very nice video Euge! the biggest problem of all the T75 haters, is usually the mic setup. For this particular speaker, there are really better options than Sm57. I use two Marshall 1960 cabs loaded with T75/Vintage and T75/V-Type speakers, and I really dig both. Kippis!
Great comparison thanks. That sounds so massive: T75+V30 is the winner based on my ears. Actually if I remember well Leon Todd's free IR (that I use a lot) is actually a Marshall cab with mix of V30 + T75. Now I know why I like that IR. I only play 1x12 at home (loud basement ;-) and I like quite a bit the T75 on its own as it gives a deeper bass on a small cab whixh is pleasing when playing for myself ;-)
Great demo - really amazing how much better the V30/Marshall speakers sound - just because more mids are more like VH. After the V30, the 75's sound like there's a pillow in front of the amp! I read Yngwie uses the 75's - maybe with a bright, loud Strat they are more neutral?
The T-75 is the speaker I toured with since 2007 and I can easily say it’s the most volatile speaker depending on the room. Used both Marshall and Mesa heads. The highs and lows are insane when you play a small room but the speaker disappears in a big room. Big love-hate with the T-75 but it’s still in my cab so 🤷
Have an Engl 412 Pro with v30's and a 1960B with unvented white label T75's from '86, together it's heaven. Both speaker types really compliment each other.
Great video Euge! 🤘🏼 Hey did you ever try the G12-65’s from late 70’s/early 80’s? Those things are killer, I have them in some cabs and they pair so good with Marshalls for high gain stuff
I've been using an Avatar 4x12 with 2-T75's, and 2-V30's for about 7 years now, and I find it hard to describe how good it sounds. And mind you I was coming from a Mid 90's Shitflield Peavey 5150 4x12. LOL. I might put the same speakers in the Peavey cab. Being able to mix the 2 speakers on the same cab is awesome for recording.
I've always had the big boy Celestion G12K-100, feed my Diezel Herbert, no comment. I have G12-T75 Roland Stereo JC-120, sounds fantastic! BTW, the G12M-65 sound "weird" %) If you switch between 15:56 and 20:31, you can really hear the fullness in the mix of them fill in. :)
I think a lot of people would agree T75s sound great in the room/live, but I've never had a single issue RECORDING with them. Absolutely one of my favorite speakers in that context...they give a certain "air" and liveness to a mic'ed tone and don't sound like a disembodied speaker. It's a very synergistic sound between the speaker and the cab itself. When I had my Uberschall/Uberkab, my prevailing thought when recording that setup was that the T75 was THE speaker doing the heavy-lifting with that amp, without question. They translate the bottom end that amp has to a T, pun intended. They give you the "snap", the articulation/attack and they don't sound honky. Better still, they're a 40+ year old speaker and STILL sound modern. Yes, the highs extend a bit, but most modern amps are plenty capable of dialing it back while still giving you the pick attack heavy guitars need. I'll defend T75s 'til I'm dead and buried!
@@metalinsights9664 When I had the Uberschall and Uberkab, I used an Aston Element on the V30 and a regular ol' 57 on the T75. Aston was on the cap-edge, the 57 was mid-cone. That worked AWESOME for that Uberschall Uberkab setup. YMMV. I no loner use regular mics since I moved to using modeling mics because it gives me all these sounds in one shot, but that Aston Element and the AKG D112 were BY FAR my favorite guitar cab mics. They both had a way of immediately giving you a modern guitar sound. I'd never use a 57/i5/609 or whatever by themselves, except maybe for leads. But for that, I infinitely prefer the MD441 anyways. Better midrange focus and smoother on the top.
Wow very nice job comparing and contrasting the differences! I love your channel. I wanted to ask about your Tele in the rack behind you. I don't think I have seen you play it. I will search your channel. Peace!
Just from the side by side comparison. To me, the T75 has more definition in the notes and a well round bottom end. While the V30 is more open and brighter in general, Yet loses a hint of the definition in the notes. I wonder if mixing the two would be like putting a JCM800 and a dual rectifier together to get definition in the notes and a thick well round low end punch.
Would love to see you do a video like this on the hated celestion 70/80 and hear your thoughts. I think it's a decent speaker in the room but like the g12-t75... It's hard to make it sound good when micing
After hearing the first playback @7:54, the T-75s are much brighter sounding and fuller. The V30s sound flat, like they’re missing the presence frequencies around 2.5 kHz. I verified this with a spectrum analyzer. On the recording, the T-75s were more pleasant sounding and would probably cut through a mix better because of the presence bump. The V30s sound dull in comparison. That’s my opinion. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
Actually the v30 is more cutting and has more presence in your face both in the room and recorded but it's also harsh; T75 is more pleasant to my ear, doesn't cut as well and has a fizzy thing going on...if it wasn't for this last issue it would be a really great speaker. I hope I'll figure out how to take the fizz away because I know a lot of great albums were recorded with t75's, so it should be possible to fix it.
I have a Marshall MG cab. I didn't spend much on it. I play a Valvestate through them. I doesn't sound bad, but it don't like how it sounds micd up. would it be worth it to try some G12s in it or should I just be satisfied with it and move on?... In your opinion. Thanks!
Hi! I have a Line 6 Spider II 212 which has two Celestion C12P-80 (I see they are also called Seventy-80s) and I'm considering making a cabinet with them. Do you think it would be worth it? For a moment I thought they were the same featured in this video but no, it's a different model number.
I wonder what a 75 and a greenback would sound like? I have a cab each loaded with those respectively...might have to try that. I also love my 75 loaded marshall cab in the room at practice but have always hated it micd up live. There's like this weird jangly frequency in the background of everything that's just always there.
I've got 9 1960 cabs at work with G12t-75 speakers.. if you use a 57 on them they sound like an vacuum cleaner on high gain sounds it's better with a JCM but with my Recto it's pure vacuum cleaner. This did absolutely not change my mind either 🤣
segeborn made a video of a guy comparing the old 80s t75s with the new ones and they sound completely different. the 75s in my 800 cab from 89 sound great
Bruh! My T75s sound more more Crispy than yours but I could hear that Depth thing, I might get a couple V30s and run them in an X pattern with a couple of my T75s in my 1960A Lead Cab. A question please, I was thinking about getting a "Friedman Mic No Mo Passive Cabinet Simulator" so I wouldn't have to Mike Up anymore, have you ever used one or something similar, if so what were your thoughts on it?
I like this speaker but l must admit my setup is a bit different than yours. I use a Kemper and 1 or 2 4x12 cabs. I tend to like the balance of my cabs with the 75’s. I also have Mesa v 30 cabs. I kinda like the old 75’s
T75 is the Metallica tone in RtL & MoP. I'm not sure what they used in KeA; AJFA was a frankenamp with marshall mesa and whatnot plugged together (though I'm pretty sure they were still using 75s); Black Album was Mark IIC+ through V30s. But if someone wants to replicate the Ride/Master sound, they can't do it without T75s. To me, they sound too spiky on their own, but they mix really well with Marshall Vintages.
The T75's are a bit bright and spiky with a 57, IMO, and adjusting the mic has too much mid range fall off, and it gets too dark too fast. That said, doing a fredman technique with a 57 or on a V30 and a 421 or 58 off axis on the T75, the two complement each other nicely, filling out. Also, if you record it with a ribbon or an e906 or e609, it sounds fine by itself if you adjust the amp's EQ. So, in all fairness, you made the right choice, microphone wise.
With all my love and respect this tone is over saturated (for me). I can tell some difference in the mids more than anything. Anyway my fave are V30s maybe V30s - Greens X pattern. I have a dry signal out of 77 jmp though. For me that's when you can hear an "open" sound and of course it's not easy to play. Nonetheless it's another interesting video from you, keep it up mate. 💪
they are not that easy to put in a mix in comparision to scratchy v30s but they dont suck and blending makes sense in this case for my taste ... fits better than g25 and v30 together imho
@@jaychen2000metal somewhat scooped. They're fairly flat overall. I don't think they've been made in decades. I have a mid '80's Randall cab they came in.
That is exactly what I have in my 4x12: T75 & V30 in an "X" pattern... thanks for the confirmation, sounded great!
Cool! Thanks!
They work even better IMO with 2 T75's on top with 2 V30's on bottom since the V30's are louder (not just higher sensitivity, but louder than most 100db speakers because of the aggressive upper mids).
Me too! Men of taste 😂
I love that speaker combination as well, and from other conversations I had in the past I know we aren't alone.
I'm running two '80's T-75's (bottom) and two 25w GB's (top) in my JCM800 1960 Lead A cab. I can't imagine it sounding better.
Does that make it a 100w cab?
@@Dixie-Normus-209 yes, when pairing mixed speakers you add up the wattage based on the speakers with the lowest rating. I personally prefer to match speakers that are closer in wattage and efficiency but as malmsteen said, "If it sounds good then it's good."

Perfect timing Euge !!! I was just debating on getting a Marshall 1960B cab for my JVM … looking to change things up from all my Vintage 30 cabs
Glad to hear thanks!
@DanielRGuitars Thanks ! I’m looking at the Marshall 1960BV cab like Alexi had
@DanielRGuitars Thanks ! Trying to decide between the regular 1960B with the G12-T75s and the 1960BV 🤔 quite a price difference too… the Vintage 30 cab is like $500 more Canadian
Excellent. 👊
I took 2 UK made K100s out of my mode four cab and put them in my 1960B X pattern with vintage 30s awesome stuff.
You are my favorite! Great reviews but outstanding delivery and playing. GOAT 🐐
Thanks man! 🤟
Some people hate his tone but man I LOVE Malmsteen’s Marshall T75 tone 😭❤
His sound is great. People just can't stand how it sings. It's just stubbornness and expectation. But he really made it his own and that's what it's good for.
Satch also uses these speakers, who sounds quite different obviously, different pickups and drives not least of all. - And Maiden has mostly used them in their cabs as well.
I've got a jcm 800 2 x 12 from 84 it came with the vented og t75's mixed with a v30 its fantastic. i have old g12 65 and mojotone greenbacks in my other cabs and im not a fan of the v30 or t75 on its own but they sound great together.
Cool!
For me.
Thanks!
Cheers!
You really sound great any speaker you choose.Well done and the work you put in is much appreciated !
I was looking for demos of this speaker 10 minutes before you uploaded LOL
Awesome! :-)
That’s my favourite speaker, I’m using a SM57 and a m201 on the edge of the dust cap.
Cheers.
TRY THE V30'S 0N THE BTTM BECAUSE THEY ARE L0UDER/M0RE AGRESSIVE SPEAKER, 0R PUT THEM IN AN X-PATTERN LIKE B0GNER D0ES 0N THEIR UBER CAB! CHEERS!
Great comparison Euge. I’m a greenback man myself but man you made the t75 sound great!
T75s sound great in my Marshall 2x12 cab. Read Adrian Smith uses the T75. Have you tried the Sterling P10 mic?
What do you think about a blend in a 2x12 with the G12-T75 and g12h-75 creambacks?
Haven't tried it but should work great since H75s are bit similar than V30s. Or at least my H75 is :-).
I have my custom cab setup with v30’s on top row and celestion k100’s on the bottom row. Sounds very balanced but incredibly loud and brutal sounding
a mojo BV30V vs Marshall vintage would be a great comparison
Kippis!
Do you have any advice on what mic(s) to use and how to place the mic(s) to get good recording tones out of the G12T-75?
@@metalinsights9664 depends on what toner you're after, but for eg. e906 right on the edge of dust cup worked for me. Cheers :)
Euge. Quality content from a quality player, I’d imagine a more mid focused guitar would shine bright with the speaker combo as well. 🤘🏼
Big love-hate with the T-75 but it’s still in my cab so 🤷
Also thanks for making killer vids for us on this nerdy stuff
Just found out my man MICK THOMSON used the G12-T75's before going to his signature celestions that are based on those T 75's.🤘
Thought he uses eminence dv77s?
I use one of these and a V30 in my 90’s 5150 2x12 combo.
Sounds brutal.
RAWK \m/.
Thanks! Not that I know. I’ve played, recorded & used so many different cabs throughout my career so it could be possible 😎.
BTW, the G12M-65 sound "weird" %)
If you switch between 15:56 and 20:31, you can really hear the fullness in the mix of them fill in.
What is your go-to mic and mic placement for recording the G12T-75?
Yes the blend I did at the end of the video works great.
Who doesn't love a Well Rounded Bottom End? 😇😉
Would love to see you do a video like this on the hated celestion 70/80 and hear your thoughts. I think it's a decent speaker in the room but like the g12-t75... It's hard to make it sound good when micing
Love your videos man! Have you ever considered making your own IRs of that cabinet? Those T-75s sounded fantastic!
I've been hoping you would make this!
Good job again!,…Vintage 30’s are the best!
Actually the v30 is more cutting and has more presence in your face both in the room and recorded but it's also harsh;
T75 is more pleasant to my ear, doesn't cut as well and has a fizzy thing going on...if it wasn't for this last issue it would be a really great speaker.
I hope I'll figure out how to take the fizz away because I know a lot of great albums were recorded with t75's, so it should be possible to fix it.
Big massive fan of the 75's. On the Bad Boys live album, John Sykes used brand new Marshall 1960b cabs with 75's.
Haha one Hour ago I bought a 1987 4x12 silver jubelee with those speakers. I am interested how I like the speakers after a few Gigs
Always fun to watch and hear!! Gotta admit, it sounded good even if its a speaker ai always dsliked.
And what about gh 65 ?
Wish i could have bought your esp Phœnix... do you still have the ltd burl poplar sentient pegasus ?
Man it was just instant Zakk Wylde when he played that first riff. Same speakers were used on those early ozzy albums. Great tone man.
I can totally agree. The T75 sounds great and full in the room but mic'd up it sounds strange/scooped
I wonder what a 75 and a greenback would sound like? I have a cab each loaded with those respectively...might have to try that. I also love my 75 loaded marshall cab in the room at practice but have always hated it micd up live. There's like this weird jangly frequency in the background of everything that's just always there.
sounds quite good G12T75 ive alvays hope it could, and very nice warmoth built.
I have a 2002 1960A with the last of the British made G12T-75's and they're great speakers... the newer Chinese made T-75's are harsh IMO 🔊
I only use this Speaker. For Funk. For Metall. He is very tight. I Love him.
If I had the time, I would actually try and test most stuff your doing in your videos.
But I don't 😂
Thank you for your work Sir 🎯
great video mate thanks for sharing your insight
Great Speaker! Very good at Low Volume too
I like this speaker but l must admit my setup is a bit different than yours. I use a Kemper and 1 or 2 4x12 cabs. I tend to like the balance of my cabs with the 75’s. I also have Mesa v 30 cabs. I kinda like the old 75’s
They are not my favourite speakers, but Carcass (Heartwork!) and Fear Factory (Digimortal!) have been recorded with G12-T75's!
I probably have the most hated combo according to the internet, TSL100 through 4x12 with G12-T75's.
Internet is wrong. I have TSL100 and it’s a great amp. Usually if something sounds like s+*%t the reason is in the bathroom’s mirror. 😎
The G12-T75 doesn't suck, that's for sure. 👍 (21:06 The moment of truth. The T75 & Creamback are two good friends. :))
The internet says G12 T75 suck. Therefore, G12 T75 must be awesome. I personally prefer these speakers over V30s
Second that. Not a fan of V30's
Agreed
Mix both. 👍🏻
Thanks for proving what I've known for a long time. T75 is ehh, V30 is harsh in the top end, Creamback is ONE of THE Marshall speakers for me.
Idk why alot of people judge the T75 speakers and replace them as soon as they can. To my ears the stock cabs with them rock right out of the box!
Great video. I learned some stuff.
Yes the 75s 1777 are from the 90s they are in my JCM900 cab
they are not that easy to put in a mix in comparision to scratchy v30s but they dont suck and blending makes sense in this case for my taste ... fits better than g25 and v30 together imho
Dude I love the t75 sound
This just made me realise i need to get a creamback 🤣
The only Celestions i like are G12M-70's.
I have a mid 80's Randall cab that's loaded with them.
Death metal weapons through a BlueVoodoo.
Never heard of them. Do they have a scooped low mid?
@@jaychen2000metal somewhat scooped. They're fairly flat overall. I don't think they've been made in decades. I have a mid '80's Randall cab they came in.
