Man. Thank you so much... All my check valves were lose. My water pump is in Brazil and you help me to save about US$100 to ship a new pump to Brasil. I just pressed my check valves down on their housing and everything went fine during test.
Thanks for posting this Steve! Very helpful! What I did with mine was use a small thin blade flat tip screwdriver, wedge it down the side of the check valve, then twist it as you pull up. Depending on how badly yours exploded inside will determine how bad pieces are jammed in place. As Hrumple shows in his video, it's a really good idea to remove the thermal valve so you can get access to that whole lower tube. I'd recommend very thin hobbyist needle nose pliers and use of an air compressor. On mine, it seemed the bottom check valves were the ones that froze and blew apart. The upper ones appeared to be okay, though I replaced all 6. I also replaced the water seals at the same time just for extra insurance. Oh, and be sure to check, break free, and clean that unloader valve!
Hammer in a drill bit just larger than the hole, don't drill it, hammer it in good so it catches, then just pull with pliars, u can put a rag or cloth on the tip of the bit so the pliars don't slip
In case you have the pump with the brass fittings that has a little bit more of a lip on the top that comes off there's another bushing under it you have to pull that off before the check valve will come out I found this out after I broke the check valves trying to pull them out one I pulled out in that top piece came off I'm like ah that's how it comes off so I got a piece of wire and bent it with a hook and pulled on the check valve until that top piece came off but the check valve was kind of turn sideways if that helps I hope
What pliers would you suggest? I have one of these pumps sitting on my bench and none of my pliers nor any I've seen look like the ones used on AR's RMW repair video.

Pliers... everybody removes them with needle nose pliers. Even AR's own video that predates your video by four years... needle nose pliers.

@@adampreston1516 Regular needle nose pliers of appropriate size will work. Heck a 90 degree pick works. ruclips.net/video/9izydnJyl2Q/видео.html
