  • In this video, we explore some of the BEST Waterfalls and Swimming Holes in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland....
    1. GARDNERS FALLS
Obi Lane South, Maleny QLD 4552
Gardners Falls is a hidden gem in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Leave your vehicle in the car park on the banks of the Obi Obi Creek and take a short, level walk downstream to the falls.
Picnic tables and toilets are available.
    2. KONDALILLA FALLS
Kondalilla Falls Rd, Flaxton, QLD 4560
From the Kondalilla Falls car park, walk 100 metres downhill (with steps) to a large grassed picnic area with barbecues, picnic tables and toilets. Walking tracks lead to features including rock pools, lookouts and waterfalls. From the top of Kondalilla Falls, Skene Creek drops 90m into the lush rainforest valley below. If you want to swim at Kondalilla Falls, it’s best to wait for the warmer weather, when rains make the falls increase. However, the park can be enjoyed year-round, thanks to warm summers and mild winters on the Sunshine Coast.
Picnic tables, BBQ's and toilets are available.
    3. WAPPA FALLS
Wappa Falls Road, Kiamba, QLD 4560
Wappa Falls is a scenic swimming hole around 20 metres wide, right by a small waterfall in Kiamba. It's a beautiful area to go for a bushwalk and a swim.
There are picnic tables, BBQs, a children's playground and toilets available at nearby Wappa Dam.
    4. BUDERIM (Serenity) FALLS
    Two Entrances:
Lindsay Road, via Harry's Lane, Buderim, QLD 4556
    or
Upper Quorn Close, Buderim, QLD 4556
This picturesque waterfall and the surrounding tranquil rock pools and sub-tropical rainforest are mere minutes away from the beach and the quaint village of Buderim, yet feel unbelievably secluded.
Picnic tables, BBQs and toilets are available.
    5. GHEERULLA FALLS
    Delicia Road, Gheerulla, QLD 4574
The lesser-known Gheerulla Falls offers a scenic walk through Mapleton Falls National Park and is definitely worth a visit after rainfall.
There are no facilities at this location.

    Gidday,
We're Beth & Paul from Australia and we love living in Queensland!
When Paul retired in 2020, we set out on a 6-month South East Asia adventure.
This is when we began making little videos and posting them on RUclips.
However, our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic less than a month into our travels.
When the pandemic eased, we moved from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, where we live a peaceful lifestyle surrounded by nature, grow many of our own fruits and vegetables, and enjoy free-range eggs from our chickens and honey from our bees!
Nowadays, we mainly travel around our region to show you the natural beauty of South East Queensland. Our aim is to make you feel like you're exploring these places with us 🤗
We continue to make little videos and invite you to follow along as we make regular trips and take our cameras to share our way of life and travel experiences with you......
We aim to post our videos fortnightly 😊

I love waterfalls! In Japan, there are a lot of mountains, so there are a lot of waterfalls, too! I love visiting those waterfalls, which each have unique features and history behind it. Japan's main region, Shinto, regards nature symbols as gods, so those waterfalls usually have interesting stories. The waterfalls you showed me look so much fun since people are swimming and enjoying! 😍 I want to visit them some day 😆

EXCELLENT video. Donna and I were quietly excited as you were introducing this episode. Sure enough... the was Wappa Falls! Our niece and her family live only a few minutes from Wappa Falls and we can probably easily go to experience them, at least, when we hopefully get to Australia for the entire month of May.

Impressive with that many waterfalls in a day! After the lovely morning we all had together in the cafe, me and Steve went to Kondallila Falls so it was lovely to re-visit that through your video. Really enjoyed seeing all the other falls you went to as well and wow that is pretty hot for all that walking! 🤗😊

Hi Julie and Steve! It’s been very humid this summer as we are experiencing plenty of rainfall after the dry spell. Perfect weather for the waterfalls! Kondalilla Falls are very pretty aren’t they and very popular in Summer as you can see. We had a great morning with you both ❤️

As usual you guys have knocked it out of the park 🤩 We are so envious because you are actually living our life, all that's in the way is the sale of our Pommie home. Still, we get 3 weeks in paradise in February and Gheerulla Falls has been added to the ever-increasing list of things to check out. BTW, Serentity Falls is fed by Buderim's storm water drain system hence the murky appearance.

Thanks so much 🤗 A good itinerary for a day trip to our Hinterland area would be Mary Cairncross scenic reserve …after a quick walk to see the pademelons, have a coffee or tea overlooking the glasshouse mountains there. Then drive to Gardners Falls (5 mins away) for a stroll along Obi Creek before making your way into Maleny township for a wander….dont forget to check out the Chocolate Factory and pick up some picnic supplies at Maleny Bakery….then drive through the pretty township of Montville to Kondalilla Falls where you can enjoy your picnic lunch in their picturesque picnic area before taking the walk to the falls. Stop at The Barn in Flaxton before leaving the Hinterland for their famous Devonshire tea with date and ginger scones (one serve of scones is plenty for two people to share) and enjoy looking at their knick-knacks! 3 weeks is a good amount of time to explore everywhere 😉

Great 😊 Montville is also a cute little town, but you might want to save that for another morning (most shops are closed in Montville by 2pm). Eumundi Market, Kenilworth Dairy and the Ginger factory are also another great day out and free entry to all of them 😊

Thank you for the great videos and the opportunity you provide for "virtual" travels and exploring. A question: In the ABC series Darby and Joan there is a very appealing waterfall in episode 7 - would you perhaps recognise it? I'm interested about where it might be.

      @BethandPaultravel  6 месяцев назад

Hi Julie 😊 we’re really pleased that you’re enjoying our videos! We’ve just found this episode on ABC’s iView and the waterfall is beautiful but not recognisable to us. We think it may be in Cairns. Queensland has so many beautiful waterfalls…..hopefully, one of our viewers reads your question and knows the answer! BTW, it looks like a good series….we’re going to start at episode 1 🤗

Hi Gus, as locals, we are aware of accidents at this location and we have witnessed locals and tourists taking risks by using the swing rope, not checking the water depth or being aware of debris under the water or the strong currents. The Sunshine Coast Council recently asked for community feedback to improve the safety in this area. Some of the improvements they are considering include improvements to signage, access and minor amenity upgrades. Swimming in natural water has unknown risks and hopefully the suggested improvements will result in a better understanding of the risks at this location so that all visitors are informed on how to manage their own safety.
