They remind me of when I was a kid and the park with the pool had a free camp that we used to go to, and the best day ever was sprinkler day!! They would tell use to wear our bathing suits under our clothes and we would change out of them while they turned on the MASSIVE park sprinklers for us kids to run around having fun under the water spray!! 😁
Hi, I have both, however they are housed separately as the Barraband is not too fond of my Plum-Headed Parakeet. I suggest that they are housed separately. It's always recommended that different species should not be housed together and sometimes even the same species. Two males may fight especially during breeding season. One may bully the other from eating, drinking, sitting on certain perches or spaces. If they get angry at each, they can't get away in a cage. It's best to house separately and let them out together under supervision.
@@Loveofpets oh ok thank you for responding . What about having a barraband male and female ? I want to get two to not keep them lonely . Would you say male with male , female with female or male with female for barrand is better ?
It's most likely a male and female would get along. Avoid 2 females. It's possible with 2 males, however its no guarantee they will get along in a cage. It's best to have 2 cages and then if they really love each other, you can try putting them together. Sometimes birds that love each fight in a cage and Sometimes they will get along in a cage, especially when young but may fight once mature or fight over a toy, perch, food etc. I had 2 Cockatiels together for many years until one day they wanted to kill each other. Be wary of this. In my opinion 2 cages are best side by side and let them out together.

They are so stunning! I’m thinking about getting a plum head parakeet and would love to see a species spotlight for them!
Question can a plum parakeet male be with my barraband parakeet that is also a male ?
