  • Just another day at the shop. I show you one of the jobs we're working on. A really nice Peterbilt custom semi truck, we install a Pioneer flip out, Hertz Audio 4X6 and 6 1/2" speakers, 2 twelve inch JL Audio W3 subs, a Pioneer 4 Channel and a JL Audio Mono block amplifier. Put the truck together in one day plus all of our other jobs.

      Ya we did a security system install, 2 deck installs, the boat got a head unit upgrade and upgraded speakers (which required a lot of cutting), plus the Peterbilt sound system.

      I have a 92 chevy silverado with stock speakers and a pioneer head unit. But there is no bass what so ever! How can I improve that? Can I add bass by Just buying new speakers? Or having to also get an amp? I'm not too sure how that all works but I need some bass if you know what I mean

      Arthur Thomason Those trucks come with factory 4X6 speakers. By all means change them for better sound quality but you're not going to get any bass from them. You'll have to at least buy a mono block and put in a sub of some sort. Without having a sub you're missing out an 30% of your music, no matter what kind of speakers you have.
      To take it one step further, you can buy a 5 channel and amplify your speakers and amplify one sub.

      Thanks a lot! I will get to work on that, finally I know what to do so thanks a lot for your advise :) soon I'll be bumping it

    Clean install, would be nice to hear it but like you said distortion and copyright make it difficult, when I saw your choice of amps and subs I thought you could have gone with something more powerful from JL but you obviously know what your doing so I'm sure it suits the customers demands perfectly.

      +Alberto Valdes Ya but the whole copy write part with music. My other problem with demoing it, you don't really know what it sounds like unless you hear the actual system. The speakers on your computer or phone will not replicate the sound of a full system unfortunately. If anything they tend just to distort the microphone.

    I have a 2016 Freightliner Coronado I'm looking to add some sound to. Any suggestions with a good setup to go with? btw you guys did a really good job on that pete

      +Fernando Mccrea Thanks! Well that's a broad question. I would replace all the speaker and hook up a 5 channel to drive them with a nice 10" or 12" sub.

      Cool. If I get the truck I'm planning to buy I'll be in touch to discuss electronics for it. Work occasionally has me run to the lower mainland from Calgary so your location is not a major problem.
      Thanks.

    good job! the driver should have cleaned up his battery box before bringing it to you... I'd be embarrassed to show you my dirty batteries... overall working on a semi is fun with lots of room to work no?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  9 лет назад

      gijoe696 Some parts are ok. Doing the RCA run from the dash to the sleeper not so much and you have to spend extra time securing your power lines since these rigs put on a lot of miles and the cab is on a suspension separate from the frame. So a lot of things you have to keep in mind when working on these things if you want your install to last.

    So when u ran the wires from the head unit to the amp u ran along passengers side of the semi? did the wires stay inside the truck or did u have to run them outside of the truck? I am in process of doing my 2014 pete right now and trying to figure out how I wanna run wires to bunk. any help would be appreciated

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  8 лет назад

      +TK Try to keep the power wire on one side, then run the speaker lines and rcas on the other. For the ground I recommend this product now. www.pozitiveground.com/ ruclips.net/video/vRJjs9Rtp8U/видео.html

      What I try to do now is do the install and show details on RUclips, but for the audio demo I post it on my Facebook page so people can kind of hear the system.

      AnthonyJ350 I wish I had photos of Mike sound system that I had hooked up in my semi one problem I had that was a simple solution is that I had to mount the amps up under the top bunk because when I mounted them up under the bottom bunk they will always blow out but when I mounted them up under the top bunk the amps were able to breathe and then I modify the subwoofers onto the top bunk so I can get most of the sound that I need I wish I had photos I didn't even take any photos good video
