I run cheapish firearms grade red dots on my airsoft and nerf stuff, like the bushnell TRS25 and sig romeo 5. They basically function as an indicator of where the center of my "cone of fire" since airsoft and nerf gear isnt the most accurate. Then I adjust based on wind and such if needed. Most inexpensive amazon dots are too dim for outdoor use I've found.

@@waaaksun they're small and fairly simple, big knob controls brightness of the dot, the two small knobs move the dot in their respective directions. Fire a few shots at a static target, ideally from a rest, then move your dot using the small knobs. You'll need to remove the caps over the knobs, and use a screwdriver to adjust them. The knobs click every MOA you adjust them, or 1in at every 100yds. Do the math based on your point of impact and how far you are from your target, make adjustments, and try again. Repeat until zeroed.

I run the CVLIFE red/green dot ($20 on Amazon) and the CVLIFE reflex ($32 on Amazon) sights on a few of my half-length dart blasters. They make plinking a lot more fun for me!

A magnified optic? No. A reflex sight? Yes. Having that dot or reticle while being able to keep both eyes open works great.

A little bit but not as often as my old airsoft load out.
For me a simple holo or red dot will go for me for nerf as all I need is the general location where my dart is going.
The reason for the scope loadout would be for taticool looks.

I find then quite useful. The trick is zeroing them in properly. I use a cheep laser bore sighter from Wish to sight mine in, as it puts a red dot projected out from the center of your bore, and all you have to do is move the dot in your sight over that.

When slid into the correct position, the Dart Zone Max Stryker's scope actually was useful. The bullets shot to the center of the optic. I've done it basically every single time. On the rail there is a part that looks like a bunch of the bumps were put together in the middle somewhere. If you slide the scope so that the front is slightly behind the edge of the part it will be in the perfect position. PLEASE TRY IT.

I buy the cheapest sights on Amazon with decent ratings. I don't need super-accurate sights, nor do I need sights built with firearm-quality materials. Basically, I'm never going to spend more on a sight than the blaster it's on. So far, so good!

I use a red dot Gamo brand laser for my Rush 40. As long as I sight it in, it’s pretty darn accurate. It suffers from being invisible in daylight or while wearing polarized lenses as well. But for indoor or night time play, it’s great!

"Engagement ranges" in nerf are usually so close that you don't need to use sights nor do you have time to aim, but it helps at higher fps limits (200-300) where you need to dot a really specific, exposed area in someones body (foot or hair thats sticking out of cover)

For visibility you generally want Green Dot for bright outdoor environments, depending on a few factors. It's why I personally always looks for an optic that has both red dot/green dot options.

I picked up some usb c rechargeable sights with good daylight level brightness and different reticule shapes with r and g variable brightness, I also use a low power scope with mil dot reticule.
In the case of the no magnification optics, love them, they help get faster accurate shots.
In the case of low power scope for lobbing nerf darts, when I want to reach past 200' it doesn't hurt, even for casual plinking watching a dart travel through the scope is neat and helps me track the flight characteristics better, especially because I have experience with airsoft regarding scopes.

Yes, any Nerf/Dart Zone/etc Pro blaster will get advantage of a sight. I have a Truglo for my airsoft. Works great in the Trion and Nexus Pro.
My recommendation get cheap sight from companies. You can get good sight for less than $50. Avoid Chinese copies. My 1rst sight was a bad copy-paste that only includes a raiser base, you can't zero the dot and cost me more than the Truglo. I adjust the sight to 25ft and you can hit little targets. The only miss are the bad feed darts or incorrect charge.

There’s a $44 TruGlo I really like at Walmart! It was a 5Moa dot which is nice and big for Nerf. Also green and red dot and super bright. I like TruGlo I use them on my archery products!

I run some really good $20 fiber optic iron sights on my Nexus Pro X MK3 and Stryfe X
The main functionality is to make sure that my blaster is always straight not tilted or angled. For the Nexus X it's a spot on hit with a Springer with the flywheelers though it's a generalization.
Red dots of any kind are just completely useless. You'll never be able to accurately zero in your sight with a Nerf dart because the inconsistency and not to mention there's so many different weights so many different darts use you could have 10 shots and they will all shoot inconsistently so which one would be the actual shot to determine where that red dots going to be sighted in? You can't

i never had a game in which they were really usefull.
But that´s just my opinion. :)

✌🏽😺 I agree with the “Open Sights” style of playing. I’ve found that as long as you have a general line of sight at a reasonable distance, all you have to do is point + shoot. The Red Dot that came with the DZ MK3 works really well for that.
I recently picked up the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Red Dot for like $56 on Amazon. I haven’t Zeroed / tested it other than just opening the Box after work and throwing it on a Gen.1 Aeon Pro and shooting a paper target on a wall from like 30 feet. I look forward to using it at some UNO games in a few weeks🙃🤙🏽
On another note, What do you think about the orange sights that came with the DZ Max Stryker 🤔?
I’ve personally found them to be incredibly accurate and useful and have an impressive amount of long distance shots with them in games as well as “precision” shots on indoor targets at a medium range in the cribo. ✌🏽✌🏽
