Art journaling on a Monday afternoon. It feels like autumn is coming here in Sweden. It´s getting darker, colder and more windy. Leaves are shifting colors and I feel like a creating a page inspired by the season.

Oh this was so wonderful to watch, and what a beautiful art journal page! I love the colours of autumn but we don't really get these kinds of autumns here in South Africa. But I was in Seattle and also in Montana one Autumn and oh my goodness, I can still see all those colours clearly in my mind! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful process with us.

Hi Brenda! So glad you've enjoyed a fall season in the states. The smell of fall is always delightful, not sure if you've noticed it. I am from south Florida and we don't get to see the colors but we get a bit of the nice fall smell, leaves falling down.

Autumn is my favorite season; it feels/looks as though nature is on fire. I loved watching this video not only for inspiration but a few techniques (with the white gesso especially) I've never thought of, it made it all cohesive. Thank you so much for sharing, it's gorgeous. ♥♥

Thank you so much 🤗💗🙏 I live in south of Sweden and we are waiting for spring but it has been a cold week so far. Tomorrow it’s going to rain and be about 5 degrees Celsius but the promised sun for the weekend 🤗
Wow!! Absolutely beautiful!! It was amazing that the pages could take so much water. What kind of paper is used as the base page??
Thank you so much. It’s a cheap notebook nothing fancy. The paper is thin and kind of shiny. You need to prepare pages with gesso unless you are using watercolor paper or if you want the paint to flow on the page.

Thank you so much 🙏💗I use diffrent kinds, old books found in thrift stores, cheap notebooks and authentic art journals. I have two square ones, one from Arteza and one from Dylusions from Ranger, some watercolor journals I don’t remember the name on.
@@JessonArt i’m looking for one that lies flat like yours and I am not having much success. Thank you for your response.
The only journal that lies flat all the time is if you bind it yourself with each page (mixedmedia or watercolor paper) sewn together with a bookbinding method. This way you can flip the pages exactly even. France papillon makes her own journal this way. I don’t know if she has a video on it in her RUclips channel or it’s a online class. But there are other videos on RUclips that shows the techniques. I have also made a similar journal with this technique with brown paper bags and I have a tutorial video on my channel a couple of years ago. I think it’s one of my most viewed videos if you click those specifics.
