back when i first heard this i was like "i love this!", then heard jeremy enigk from sunny day come in and i crapped my pants. couldnt have picked a better singer
Oh, but sister in our darkness a light shines! And all I ever want to say for the rest of my life, Is how the light is GOD! (That light is God!) And through I've been mistaken on this or that point, That light is God.
Lol, I just listened to his older pieces the other day (off the EP) and he has definitely gone through a 'metamorphosis' as you say. It is always interesting to look for these patterns, especially for those of us who study art thoroughly (lol, as you say you do).
As his friends slept, Jesus wept - and it's no wonder why. You wanna be set free? You wanna set me free?! Well that can only come from A union with the One Who Never Dies.
Fire has intensity and unstable, its dangerous yet practical Gentlemen Vs. The Cure for Pain Wind is unsure, it goes in all different directions. It can be both violent and calm My Exit Unfair Vs. Carousels Water is affected by its surroundings. A source for life, but its also an unkown to be feared A Glass Can Vs In a Market Earth is malleable and solid. It can be mishapen, and most often is so at its truest form. But it can also be formed into a foundation Bullet Pt2 Vs A Stick
Wow, I actually expected someone to mock my interpretation. Of course, this is just a silly observation, of coursem many other random scenarios fit that profile. Its all coincidence really, supposing that the elements even have a definite color. We all know that Wind doesn't have a color and Water (at its purest) is clear. Fire has different colors according to cumbustion (chemicals in the presence thereof) and earth can vary in the texture, not just brown.
Bullet isn't a good example, more like Every though a thought of you. Their music does follow this pattern, but again its merely a coincidence of observation and in no way does that maintain enough evidence to be justified as their original intent (especially over a span of almost 10 years respectively)
Can you provide a link to that quote about Aaron Weiss stating Muslims can enter heaven without Jesus? I'm curious about that. Seems counterintuitive to their other quotes, etc. Lyrics especially.
I personally don't want to listen to a song that is cursing people out and possibly mocking God, So I personally want to know what they are singing about. But that's just me.
"You have a decent ear for note, but you can't yet appreciate harmony" *cue vicious tone cluster*
So glad i'm not the only one that appreciates that bit
I love when Jeremy Enigk comes in, his voice just destroys in the end of this song, it makes it even more perfect than it already is.

Without a queen, the locust swarm
turned the ground to black,
descending like a shadowy tower on a fish's back

as the red clay took the form of a lizard

And it made me smile

as the river wept for you, O Zion!

bells shake the sky
all creation groans...

3:55 has to be one of the best parts of any mewithoutyou song
goosebumps. one song that makes me want to cry every time i listen to it
back when i first heard this i was like "i love this!", then heard jeremy enigk from sunny day come in and i crapped my pants. couldnt have picked a better singer
Dude Jeremy Enigk kills it on this one!!! So good!!!
It's ridiculous how clever this song is.
When the guitars cut out and then come back with the vocals. Amazing.
Oh, but sister in our darkness a light shines!

Is how the light is GOD!
(That light is God!)

whenever mr. weiss says "why not be utterly consumed by fire?", i think that's what he means. flowing into a music that never, ever ends.
dat ending

This song UGGGHHHH I love this song!!!
As his friends slept,
Jesus wept - and it's no wonder why.
You wanna be set free?
You wanna set me free?!
Well that can only come from
A union with the One Who Never Dies.
The intro kinda sounds like the intro to "My Sharona" by The Knack... :)
In darkness a light shines on you.
They have Christian roots so, God Bless.
Fire has intensity and unstable, its dangerous yet practical
Gentlemen Vs. The Cure for Pain
Wind is unsure, it goes in all different directions. It can be both violent and calm My Exit Unfair Vs. Carousels
Water is affected by its surroundings. A source for life, but its also an unkown to be feared
A Glass Can Vs In a Market
Earth is malleable and solid. It can be mishapen, and most often is so at its truest form. But it can also be formed into a foundation
Bullet Pt2 Vs A Stick
Someitmes I wish the song wouldnt end.
"In darkness your light shines "

our little world our sad little world!
What a sad little world
EXACTLY!
Mostly because of Jeremy Enigk. The live versions really miss out on that aspect of the song.
I'm here from TypeReacer lmao
Best song!
Bullet isn't a good example, more like Every though a thought of you.
Their music does follow this pattern, but again its merely a coincidence of observation and in no way does that maintain enough evidence to be justified as their original intent (especially over a span of almost 10 years respectively)
Still love
@riffbp Ive always thought that part was so insanely creative, because it is
Listen to the song and figure out if you like it or not. You don't need preconceived notions to pamper your shallow mind.
When this song comes on my shuffle I sometimes think it's the Hannah Montana theme song at first 😅
You'd be well inclined not to mess with me!
Why is a lyric from this random old song on a typing website? The world may never know.
I see a face in that painting.
kewl thanks :D
im convinced HoboJohnson got their sound from these guys
I wish this song was on Spotify, can't seem to find it
It is!

Same. Cool song, TypeRacer.

I like that this band is religous, but doesn't rep it. i'm not religious by any means and have a mad deal of respect to them for that.

@wisheswolvesx
Definitely.
o porcupine is by chance a song Terry Pratchett based?
my favorite band. i stalk aaron weiss
Can you provide a link to that quote about Aaron Weiss stating Muslims can enter heaven without Jesus? I'm curious about that. Seems counterintuitive to their other quotes, etc. Lyrics especially.
Lol, you fucking dork.
bro the weiss brothers were literally raised muslim and have incorporated muslim themes throughout their music
@@damesoumbi though I understand and appreciate that, it doesn't substantiate anything.
@grafiene No point in being a nihilist. Trick your self into believing that there is a purpose. Sadly I'm not even kidding
Ha they go to my church.... so yes. Band? No, Guys, yes.
@jufjansties more cowbell!
No, no, no. Don't hate on Muslims, or anyone. Who are you helping? Leave that to yourself.
@BarrieMyself
because of his christian lyrics.
I personally don't want to listen to a song that is cursing people out and possibly mocking God, So I personally want to know what they are singing about. But that's just me.
they arn't christian, 1 band member is, not all the rest.
You spelled mewithoutYou wrong.
I really like their music it's just too bad the lyrics are so... well you know, christian. I can't relate to them so it kinda' ruins it for me...
This drum beat is a total rip-off of My Sharona by The Knack.
Well said man
