I eat the diet most similar to Esselstyn's. It is very rewarding to have a healthy weight, healthy blood pressure and now a healthy resting heart rate being whole food-plant based. It may take work to determine the foods you like. Trust me, they are there and will fully satisfy you. Trust me and take the time to find the foods, and overcome slip ups we all had initially. There's no downside except some of your taste tests don't work out. However, you can make good educated guesses to minimize the chance of foods that won't work for you.
Me: whole wheat pasta and black beans-spice is key with cayenne, and I add kale and/or romaines. I also eat whole wheat bread (no oil, of course). Bananas give me a nice sweet taste. Your tastes change. Another request about trust: natural foods will taste so much richer over time, just as rich as the processed foods you once ate.

Thank you . I’m learning a few new things. I have coronary artery disease and had a 90 percent blockage I was so happy to catch it before I went under spinal surgery, my cardiologist said if we hadn’t caught it before the surgery I would have had a heart attack on the table.
Heart disease, high blood pressure and strokes run on both sides of my family. Yeah, I feel so blessed 🙄 Not!!!

Wait... you need to wait until you don't pass a stress test??? Too late Dr. What about a CIMT Carotid Artery Scan years before?
