    ABOUT THE WITCHER: SEASON 2
Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, THE WITCHER is an epic tale of fate and family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, dwarves, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified. Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.
    ABOUT JOSEPH TRAPANESE:
Joseph Trapanese is best known for his sleek score work for blockbuster films like Tron: Legacy, Straight Outta Compton, The Greatest Showman, Oblivion and the Raid series. As a composer, arranger, and producer for movie, television, theater, and video game music, he has collaborated with a number of mainstream musical acts. His first major break came in 2010 when he worked with Daft Punk on the sweeping digital soundtrack to Disney's Tron reboot/sequel. Trapanese followed that success by creating a score with Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park for the American release of the 2011 Indonesian martial arts film The Raid: Redemption (he would continue without Shinoda in 2014 with The Raid 2). That same year, he helped with arrangements on a handful of tracks for M83's breakthrough hit Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, which led to the pair's collaboration on the 2013 Tom Cruise sci-fi epic Oblivion. For 2017's The Greatest Showman, Trapanese worked alongside Pasek & Paul and John Debney, producing songs and co-composing the score. Notable scores include Shadow and Bone(2021), Finding Ohana (2021), Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge(2020), Project Power(2020), Ladyand the Tramp (2019), Arctic (2019), Robin Hood (2018), Only the Brave (2017), the landmark rap biopic Straight Outta Compton (2015), and the second and third installments of the Divergent series, Insurgent (2015) and Allegiant (2016).

I listened to it yesterday the first time, I found it a little weird, I listened to it several times today, in fact it is incredible. And I think of the scene that will go with it, surely Kaer Morhen. I loved the music from the first season. We might have less of a Slavic style in the soundtrack, but is it really bad if we win in epic, I don't think so. And they still reuse some remixed tracks from S1. The only thing that I was afraid for the S2 was the soundtrack, for the rest everything will be better than the S1, the story, fights, monsters, lights, images.

Not sure why Netflix made this move and changed composer for Season 2 really. This is not a bad soundtrack, not a bad composer, it is just not something that should be in Witcher. First season music was unique and so very well done and it was like a very natural part of Witcher universe. I don't hear that slavic touch here anymore. Music has such a huge impact on movies and their atmosphere, changing composers after such a huge success of soundtrack in Season 1 can make a big difference and overall effect will be different. I'm surprised Netflix made this move. I was so inspired by Season one atmosphere, and I was waiting for Season 2 to get even more inspiration for myself, but I'm not excited about this change.

Although it's not a bad song in itself, it really lacks the mystical slavic vibes, diversity and originality the first season gave us. I fell in love with Sonya et Giona's work, and was hoping for more of it. This one song is fine by me, but not nearly close in comparison to what I've expected the S2 soundtrack to be. Yes, I know it's just one track and it does not reflect the overall quality of the show yet to come, or even the work this new composer surely put in it, but man it doesn't help for now building an unique and interesting atmosphere I've been personnally craving for. Give us something unheard of, for a change, not something interchangeable with any piece of fantasy media already existing.

Middle of this song sounds like ‘Final Frontier’ from one of the trailer music to Interstellar, and after 3 minutes onwards is a lot like the Assassins Creed II Theme if you sang the main 4 notes. Nonetheless that’s why I like this track so much lol

Hmmm ... I really hope there is more "witcher" sound in the other tracks, because this one sounds like boring MCU noise. At the end it get's a bit better, but I have a really bad feeling about this. Why hasn't the ladies who did season 1 showed up for this?

They are evolving their music theme, to more a Witcher-esc / Elder Blood theme..
The only thing we know best, is how a Witcher theme should sound like, and although Geralt's theme is missing from Season 2, it seems like there are many things to evolve here.

This composer feels more european leaned and Sonya felt more Slavic leaned, i feel i just listenint to waltz in the first minute then theres that weird peak of the orchestra at the end of 1:57 minutes and it just goes louder from there till 2:40. That small section makes you feel like they are showing the landscape of a city getting closer then you get the 3:38 entrance to which it feel you are now inside the city rather than watching it from afar. I didn't exactly disliked it, i feel is a pretty good composition but feels i'm watching another show rather than the witcher. Like to me this feels like it would fit in a Wheel of Time setting type of story when they first arrive to the white tower for example. That said the ending of this track is beautiful and i do appreaciate the build up.
