"Campaign song" for an upcoming anime movie entitled "Oshiri Tantei", which literally means "Butt Detective". Saki said she was channeling Brian May for some of the counter-melody in the chorus. Song and lyrics written by Ryosuke Imai, best known for his work with Namie Amuro, J-Pop superstar, including the song "Hero", which was the theme for national broadcaster NHK's coverage of the 2016 Olympics. Arrangement by Nemo's usual collaborator Kensuke Akiyama.
@@waterwalker9600 Agree, really good work from Mayu. One of the better ballads you'll hear from a hard rock band. For this song they got a top writer who's worked in J-Pop, hip hop, R&B, and harder genres. He and Kensuke Akiyama are friends.
Great reaction. I laughed when you said they are not mad now. Because even though they are heavy as hell most the time I don't think they are ever mad because they are always smiling. But I know you were just talking about the sound of the song. Also yes its still Tamu the drummer. Her hair was just styled different. Hazuki cut her hair short a few months back too. Im not sure what the song is about I dont think it is about her being a mother because it was not written by them. It was written by someone else and it is being used in a Anime movie there in Japan. Still though it is a beautiful song. Mayu sounded great. It is a very good power ballad. The style of the video and what they are wearing along with the music reminds me of 80s 90s power ballad. Goes good with a few of their other slow songs like Life, Game Over and Now I here. Nemophila is mostly in your face metal/ rock and shredding guitars but this is another example how talented these ladies are and can play anything.
They all constantly change it all up: the genre, their look, the feel. TBH, I'm not usually here for ballads but I'm making an exception for this song. I wouldn't want them to permanently move in this direction, but I'm not at all mad they visited it. Mayu's voice is beautiful and powerful at the same time and the instruments are always sublime. This band can *still* do no wrong for me.
Not almost a ballad--it IS a ballad. The third original ballad they have dropped as a video, and all of them are gorgeous. You have to check out the others "Life", and "Now I Here" Don't need to know the words to get the feels. This is where a truly great thrash band separates itself from the pack.Yes, see them live even if you have to sell a kidney to do it. They are fantastic live.
Even more demonstration of Nemophila's incredible versatility! A lesser band trying to pull off so many different sounds and subgenres would just end up having no identity. But Nemophila infuse everything they do with their chemistry and personality. Truly special band... I really love the dynamics in this, both musical and emotional. Ryosuke Imai is a terrific songwriter, and Nemophila/Akiyama-san took this song and ran with it. I also love how Mayu's skilled and emotional vocals dominate, as should be in a ballad...none of the instrumental members overplay, but all add so much to the song.
Mayu is incredible. I don’t know the lyrics but I believe she said she pictured her child while filming this video. Saki said she packed the spirit of Brian May’s love into the chorus. These ladies are incredible.
Mayu said in a interview not long ago that they wanted to do some songs that were different from what they typically do, some slower ballads and some with nothing but screams. I think this song and Zen are the book ends and they fill in everything in between.
This one really surprised a lot of people. I for one love seeing this side of them. It' shows how much they have grown as a band. They are so much more than a cover / metal band. They are true musicians. To me this is Mayu's best vocal work. I believe Tamu recorded the piano for this, her or Mayu. They are just getting better and better.
NEMOPHILA has no limits. 🌸✨️🌠

This ballad is incredible. MAYU's vocals were the best I've heard, and all of them played with more heart than ever.

What a beautiful song and flawless performance. Just awesome! ❤
That's absolutely a love letter to the power ballads of the 80s and 90s, down to the hair styles, clothing, and video style. Nice.
When they play this live, the venue is going to have to distribute free boxes of tissues. 🤘😭💜
ネモフィラ、ありがとう!
Thanks so much i really appreciate that. Happy holidays ❤️🤘
So good
I think this one caught everyone a little off guard ... perfect for the season. NEMO really can do anything!
Dam right they can!!! 🤘love them so much
I love that Nemophila refuses to be categorized. This band is so good.
Their original video for their song "Life" is just as epic and anthem like.
Mayu destroyed this… total rockstar leveling up. Yes, it’s a ballad to her infant son. Language here isn’t important… amazing. 🤘🎸👍
Me gustó la canción en una. tremenda canción ❤

yes same drummer.
Love them so much my favorite just metal group
Of course Nemophila had to do a power ballad. Tamu is a master!
Tamu just changed her hairstyle.
Yes, that's 100% - 10!
Reminds me of a clasic 80s Bon Jovi ballad. Amazing!

Sorry Nemophila for having doubted your abilities to seduce me with your music. Odyssey is the perfect song to prove me wrong. So beautiful.🙌
Absolute perfection! I didn’t understand a word either, yet it still brought a tear to my eye. I can’t get enough of this band. ❤️🌸

🤟🎶☮️
Yea it the same drummer
It reminds me of the tag line of those old 'Monster Ballads' compilation cd commercials.
'Even bad girls have a soft side'.
Absolutely LOVE this band.

Yep. It’s a big 10/10. Mayu and Hazuki and Saki shine on this which is probably typical for a rock power ballad.
