Thanks a lot mate! 🫶 ~2 weeks ago I was filming for a Pro Drift Team in Spain. You can check out that video on their RUclips channel "Max Heidrich #84". ✌

It's cool Bro! Just Tamron 28-75?:), there must be another 70-200?:)

Just the Tamron 28-75 exclusively used in APS-C crop mode on the A7c ii which effectively extends the upper end of the focal length to ~100mm. At this event here it was pretty much perfect. There's a more recent video of mine though on another RUclips channel "Max Heidrich #84" where I was filming for a professional team also with my 28-75. This was where I noticed though that the zoom range is just too limited. Matter of fact: As I'm writing this comment I already have another tab open to potentially buy the Tamron 28-200mm f2.8-5.6. 🙈 I did consider buying the 70mm-180mm lens for a moment however I learned that having to change lenses at the track will make you potentially miss a lot of good one time opportunities.

@@pckbls The footage looks great! Maybe you want to consider that Tamron 35-150:). By the way, are you using any gimbal? The 28-75 doesn't have VC, but your footage looks very stable. The 70-180 has VC actually.

@@Lost-In-Indonesia Yes, I do consider Tamron 35-150 and I'm currently writing up a pro/con list to assist with a buying decision. In fact it would be pretty much perfect in terms of focal length and aperture but: It's twice as heavy, twice as large and twice as expensive. Also: I cannot re-use my existing 67mm filters. My rig consisting of the camera, lens, cage, top handle, external microphone, field monitor (plus battery) already tends to be a little front heavy and with the 35-150 it'd get worse and I'd have to add more stuff to the back of the rig to counter balance making everything even clunky. The whole point of buying the a7c ii was to get away with a very compact setup that I can carry around pre-assembled in my backpack.
As for the gimbal: No I'm shooting all hand held. For this video here I piped all my footage through Sony "Catalyst Browse" which got the footage super stable but couldn't correct the motion blur artifacts due to low shutter speed. However I've completely switched over to the Open Source solution "GyroFlow" which has some limitations (you cannot zoom mid video and you must turn OFF ALL in-camera stabilization even IBIS) but the results are absolutely fantastic.

@@pckbls Thanks for sharing, Bro! Haha, your A7CII plus all your gear is definitely not compact anymore. I also use Catalyst Browse when I have to, even though it's quite painful since my laptop is very slow. Still, it's better than IBIS and Active SteadyShot. I bought the ZVE1 hoping that the "Dynamic Active SteadyShot" would bring some kind of miracle, but apparently, it's not the case. When I use Catalyst Browse, I also have to turn off all stabilization and set the shutter speed around 1/250 (shooting 4K 60). Nice talking to you, bro! Keep it up! I see you have the potential to be a pro, unlike me, as I'm too lazy to learn new stuff.😅

@@Lost-In-Indonesia It's still way more compact than what the other media guys have to carry around.😁 Yeah, the active stabilization on the a7c ii just didn't do it for me either. And as you've mentioned: Catalyst Browse is a pain in the *** to use. GyroFlow was much more user friendy for me as it supports actual batch processing and it can export to Apple ProRes as an intermediate format. As I got more confident with holding the camera steady I was able to go as low as 1/100s without getting motion blur artifacts. Thanks for the kind words!🫡
