your logic is stupid , why defend a fortress but not use the fortress ? what is the purpose of a fortress? open field will be a better tactic as line of sight and fire is not obstructed or just use the stupid fortress and 100 soldiers can take care of a few million zombies easy

    • @randomguy4989
      @randomguy4989 25 дней назад

Well the soldiers had some artificial benefits by the computer settings. Unlimited ammunition, no reloading, no friendly fire. Also one of the main gimmicks of zombies is that they convert other people into zombies while here all soldiers just stay dead instead of turning into zombies.

  • @joshuakrueger3392

They’ve got those special bullets that completely avoid friendly fire.
Hard to say if they’d really survive if those thousands of soldiers couldn’t shoot through each other like that to hit their target.
Those choke points in the castle walls would make it difficult for soldiers in the back to get a decent shot.

After about two days of non-stop firing, we finally settled things on the northern front. None of them broke through... We lost a lot of good men at around the 30-hour marker. Fortunately, I was attached to my company as an onboarding designated marksman. I was a medic and often did overwatch, but given that the only cure to the damned rot is a bullet, I had my MOS reassigned. It was voluntary... I never had any intention of being a surgeon assistant to a bunch of cowardly REMF who rolled their ankles on purpose. At least that's what I told my regimental commander when my platoon leader initially declined my request. But, the truth was, I just wanted to stay with my squad. How could I go to the rear when after finding out my platoon would be one very frontline of the northern front of castle Brunswicks? I knew it was suicide, and my platoon leader did too, hence his initial denial and even the company CO's denial. I subverted both of them when I routed my special request to the regiment. I thought I would have my wish fulfilled... I thought I'd be able to die with my squad. But instead some string were pulled, and I was assigned to a scouting company that was acting as pseudo marksman security one of the inner walls. I watch my entire company get completely annihilated. The despair was so great that I could not formulate thought nor speech. What followed, a cascade of pilling corpses and a smell so putrid that it made my eyes burn, almost as if I was in a gas chamber. Imagine the poor bastards in the actual shits. Alas, by the 50-hour mark, we had successfully repelled the foul beast. We were lucky. The eastern front? Not so much... The formation on their end had adapted several times to properly combat the approach of the dead. Apparently it worked, but at a cost. They broke through, and many stragglers were unwillingly cornered and suffered horrible fates. But while they suffered those fates in involuntarily, some men suffered it completely and utterly, readily suffered those fates fearlessly. So that others may live.

@Wee Bee there was a similar castle siege scenario done in another gamer's video. It was a 2-hour seesaw battle with the soldiers having the upper hand in 90% of the game. Having wiped out the attackers in their sector, the soldiers then sallied forth to attack the remaining zombies that was again about to overrun a sector. That was a mistake and the zombies wiped them out in the final 10 minutes. I was surprised but happy with how it turned out.

The southern front, where my squad and I stood our ground, was a place of relentless chaos and unimaginable horror. We were the last line of defense, the final bastion between the encroaching hordes and the safety of the fortress. We knew the odds were against us, but we had a duty to fulfill, a duty to protect the innocent lives sheltered behind the fortress walls.
As the sun began to set on that fateful day, we could hear the distant screams and guttural growls of the undead, growing louder with each passing minute. The tension in the air was suffocating, but we stood tall, rifles locked and loaded, ready to face the oncoming storm.
The night descended upon us, shrouding the battlefield in darkness. Flares illuminated the battlefield intermittently, revealing glimpses of the nightmarish army that awaited us. Their glowing eyes pierced through the blackness, an eerie reminder of the hellish fate that awaited us if we faltered.
I clung to my position, perched atop the crumbling walls, scanning the darkness with my scope. The moonlight danced on my weapon, casting an ethereal glow. My heart pounded in my chest, each beat echoing the bravery and determination coursing through my veins.
The first wave crashed upon us like a tsunami of rotting flesh and decayed bones. Their moans filled the air, a chilling symphony of death. We unleashed a hailstorm of bullets, each shot a testament to our unwavering resolve. But for every zombie that fell, it seemed like two more took its place.
Our squad fought with a ferocity that defied reason. The ground beneath us trembled with the weight of the undead, as we stood firm, unyielding. The stench of blood and decay permeated the air, assaulting our senses, yet we pressed on, unrelenting in our defense.
In the midst of the chaos, I witnessed the selflessness of my brothers-in-arms. Some sacrificed themselves, drawing the attention of the undead, buying precious seconds for the rest of us. Their bravery was awe-inspiring, a testament to the indomitable spirit of humanity.
Hour after hour, we fought with a primal fury, our bodies and minds pushed to the limit. The exhaustion threatened to consume us, but we couldn't allow ourselves to falter. We couldn't let the zombies breach our defenses.
At last, as the first rays of dawn painted the sky, we saw a glimmer of hope. The undead horde began to waver, their relentless assault faltering. Our spirits soared, adrenaline coursing through our weary bodies. We had held the line against insurmountable odds.
But the victory was bittersweet. We knew that in other parts of the battlefield, our brothers and sisters in arms had faced unimaginable horrors. They had paid the ultimate price for our survival. We mourned their loss, honoring their sacrifice and vowing to carry on their legacy.
The southern front had become a battlefield of heroes, where ordinary men and women had become legends. We had faced the very embodiment of death and emerged victorious. Our fortitude and resilience had defied the odds and preserved the flame of hope in a world consumed by darkness.
As we stood amidst the aftermath of the battle, surrounded by the fallen, we held our heads high. The war was far from over, and the undead would continue their relentless onslaught. But we knew that as long as there were soldiers like us, willing to lay down their lives for the greater good, humanity would never be defeated.
Together, we would face the horrors that lurked in the shadows, fighting for a future where the living could thrive once again. United, we stood, ready to face the challenges ahead
, knowing that our courage and determination would carve a path to victory.

      One of the Zombies:
Shackles of darkness bound me to an existence devoid of purpose. A primal hunger gnawed at my insides, driving me forward with an insatiable desire. Once, I was human, but now I am a creature of the night, a slave to the never-ending craving.
We moved as one, a grotesque mass of decaying flesh and shattered dreams. The world around us blurred, distorted through the haze of our insidious hunger. No longer did we possess thoughts or emotions; we were driven solely by the instinct to feed.
The scent of the living filled the air, a tantalizing aroma that sent ripples of excitement through our decayed bodies. Like a moth drawn to a flickering flame, we stumbled forward, limbs flailing, tongues lolling out of our cracked lips.
Faces once familiar now distorted and twisted, teeth bared in perpetual snarls. We yearned to taste warm flesh, to feel the life force surge through our rotting veins. There was no remorse, no pity within us, only a relentless pursuit of sustenance.
We crashed against the fortress walls, mindlessly clawing, scratching, and slamming our decaying bodies into the unyielding stone. Blood oozed from our fingertips, mingling with the stench of death that clung to our decaying forms.
Some of us fell, dismembered by the soldiers defending the fortress. Limbs torn apart, bodies rent asunder, yet the pain was but a fleeting sensation, drowned out by the all-consuming hunger. We were expendable, mere pawns in this macabre game of survival.
Those of us who managed to breach the defenses were met with a hail of bullets and steel. Our bodies convulsed with each impact, yet we pressed on, driven by an unstoppable force. No matter how many fell, we surged forward, our numbers seeming infinite.
In the chaos of battle, we tore into flesh, tearing sinews and gorging on the life essence of our victims. The taste of warm blood trickling down our throats provided a momentary respite from the agonizing emptiness that consumed us. We were monsters, but even monsters find solace in satiating their relentless hunger.
But as the hours passed, our strength waned. Our limbs grew sluggish, our movements slowed, and the wounds inflicted upon us became more severe. The soldiers fought with unyielding determination, refusing to surrender to the inevitability of our hunger.
And then, as the first rays of dawn broke through the night sky, a change swept over us. Our bodies convulsed, wracked with pain, as the sun's gentle touch bathed us in its life-giving light. We crumbled, disintegrating into nothingness, our existence snuffed out by the very force that sustains the living.
In our final moments, as we dissolved into ashes and dust, a faint echo of our former selves whispered within our decaying minds. We were once human, lost souls caught in the clutches of an eternal darkness. But now, we were nothing more than fading memories, swallowed by the unforgiving embrace of oblivion.

Nevermind the humans actually winning, that place is uninhabitable for the foreseeable future unless massive, and I mean MASSIVE efforts are made to clean the place up .
Nevermind the zombie plague / disease / whatever it is this time, just that amount of corpses in one area is just a breeding hotspot for any kind of diseases and plague that otherwise appear with lots of corpses.
As to how to make the zombies win, easiest 2 methods would be bowling or friendly fire.
Bowling as in, corpses rolling through human troops knock them down.
Friendly fire... well. Not letting thousands fire through eachother.

the troops have modern guns that have range , they could have been more spaced out along the walls creating a bigger arc of fire rather than being bottlenecked by the holes in the walls , that way more troops would be able to fire at once over a greater area , now im off to watch the old classic film Zulu )

It could work if they were placed more strategic and have at least 181 bullets per soldier. 181 bullets is based on an accuracy of 60% and 1 bullet for 1 kill... more realistic would be an 30% accuracy in real life since zombies move fast so it's harder to have a headshot. Let's say q zombie needs 3 bullets... each soldier needs 546 bullets including 40% missfires.
