There is not a terrible Harry Potter book but some are better than others. I do love the chapters in Philosopher’s Stone (in particular Diagon Alley, Quidditch, The Mirror of Erised, The Forbidden Forest and The Man with Two Faces) and the plot twist and it is a great opening to the series and Harry’s journey starts in this book meeting Ron and Hermione, hating Voldemort, Malfoy and Snape. Introduction of Hogwarts. Goblet of Fire has the best mystery of who put Harry’s name in the Goblet of Fire, who Fred and George were blackmailing and why, how Rita Skeeter was listening into private conversations. The return of Dobby was great, Blast-Ended Skrewts were interesting the final of the Quidditch World Cup was amazing as was the Third Task. One of my favourite moments is the night when Harry is figuring out the eggs clue and he sees the name Bartemius Crouch on the Marauder’s Map and he gets stuck in the trick step where he is under the cloak and alerts Filch, Mrs. Norris and Snape and Moody or Crouch says “oh if there’s one thing I hate it’s a Death Eater who walked free”. The graveyard scene is my favourite in all of Harry Potter and the reveal of Moody as Crouch is the best. The Unforgivable Curses scene was fascinating. 4 6 3 7 2 5 1
the only problem i have with deathly hollows is that we barely get any interactions with the side character when the final battle starts. Wheres Georges reaction to freds death?
My personal book ranking is 7 - deathly hallows - i like it a lot but i just don't find myself revisiting as often. 6 - prisoner of azkaban - i love this but it feels a bit forced that ron and Hermione aren't friends because of the fact their pets are trying to kill each other and i think Hermione would have told them about the time turner considering what they'd been through. 5 - chamber of secrets - i love this book so much but the pacing from when they get to hogwarts to the dueling club is slightly off but everything else is great. 4 - half blood prince - i love the delve into Voldemorts past and the relationship between harry and dumbledore but harry and Ginny's relationship feels a bit rushed and other small things like harry being banned from playing quidditch because of the sectumsempra incident just niggle at me because of the context of the fact it was a heat of the moment thing and that draco was about to use the cruciatus curse on harry which should be a major red flag for the staff. Also i really dislike Hermione in this book. 3 - goblet of fire - the only reason this isn't number one is because the next 2 have more moments that stick in my brain 2 - philosophers stone - it pains me that this isn't number one. Its my favourite story out of all of them and its the one i reread the most and I dont know why but quirrel has always been one of my favourite characters. If it was extended to the length of prisoner to flesh out the world and give us the backstory of quirrel that we were given after this was released then it'd be my favourite 1 - order of the phoenix - absolutely love this book. I think the length is perfect and unironically its the most I've loved the golden trio. I know for most that harry is too angsty but i went through similar phases where i was at the end of my tether with my friends who were just trying to help me deal with personal tragedy so its always stuck with me for that. The third act in the ministry is sheer perfection. I know it's sacrilege but i prefer it to the battle of hogwarts
I love this video! Such a great and succinct ranking. Audio was great, and the mix of images and video was perfect too. I can feel your passion to, and your rankings are well reasoned 😊 I subbed!
Half blood prince is SO elite. My favorite for the same reasons you listed, and I love any Harry and Dumbledore scene, particularly in Dumbledore’s office
These lists always baffle me. I find Order of the Pheonix to be my favorite book, but i didnt like the movie (well, i like it but i was disappointed). I was 13, finishing up my copy of Deathly Hallows when we were leaving to go see OotP at our drive in. I was so excited but then i was immediately let down with how much was cut. People praise about it being cut but thats what i hate. To me its a "summerized" version. I did find the end battle better, but then they cut everything from the office. I related to Harry during this time. I felt everything i read. And the movie skipped it with headlines in the DP.
For me, OotP is my favourite/best book. Especially Neville training with Harry, himself, in the DA, alongside his Lieutenants, Hermione & Ron. It's because of that why Neville survived the battle of the Department of Mysteries, the Skirmish of the Astronomy Tower and battle of Hogwarts. So many great moments, from Fred & George calling it quits, OWL exams and Hagrid KO'ing several ministry goons, Hogs Head chapter, the revealing of the Prophecy, Luna Love good and more. With Goblet of Fire & Deathly Hallows as close 2nd and 3rd, the longest books were the best. My Least favourite is HBP, but that's my own personal reasons of not seeing the romance between Harry & Ginny and more Harry & Hermione and Ron & Luna, with Ginny gravitating towards Neville in his final year where he was practically 'Harry' at Hogwarts defending students, standing up to the regime and taking the beatings that comes with it.
CoS is hella underrated, but to me it suffers from a crazy amount of characters being about to say something incredibly important, but either being cut off or not saying it or not saying enough. Ginny about to confess everything, but Percy is hungry so she runs away. Dumbledore knows the trio is in Hagrid’s hut, but never finds a way to offer more help than vague riddles. Hermione gets the hunch about what the monster is but doesn’t say a single word about the hunch to Harry and Ron, just says “see ya later”. It got a bit tedious. Not to mention smaller plot threads all over the place where knowledge of some kind is about to be revealed and there’s a coincidental sound to distract. Which is why I’d also have this at 6th or 7th even though it’s an awesome book.
HBP is one of the best books ever written, my order is similar to yours except that I prefer DH over GOF and I'm currently on a reread and I've been dying to finish OOTP to start on HBP, and as much as I respect people's opinions, if I come across a rating which puts HBP on the end I go nuts 😂
I think the meme about chamber of secrets is because everyone enjoys it, its a good story and it is a better story the philosopher’s stone however we have more of a appreciation for philosopher’s stone because it does so well at character and world building. Chamber of secrets is a much more interesting story in its self, but you only learn more about voldermort and the not as important side of the world compared to philosophers stone like house elfs, the malfoys ect.
Im 30 years old. I grow up watching movies HP. But only recently i started reading books and its a big suprise. I love books even more then movies. So far i read Philosophers stone Chamber of Secrets Prisoner of Azkaban Goblet of Fire My least favorite movie in the series was Goblet of fire, but book Goblet of fire is so far my favorite... It makes more sense then movie. Now I preparing myself to read Order of the Phoenix. I didn like movie that much and it seems that book is a bit of dragggg Halfblood prince is my favorite movie, watching your reviews it seems that book is even better so Im looking forward to it.. PS. I liked so much Barty Crouch JR . iTS sad that in movies he gets only minor part and we lost him very quickly in the series. Probably most loyal and intelligente death-eater pf all.
1. Half Blood prince 2. Deathly Hallow 3. Prison of.. 4. Golden of fire 5. Stone 6. Chamber of.. 7. Order of phoenix. (nothing else as half blood prince on number one I do not respect)
1. half blood prince 2. order of the phoenix 3. prisoner of azkaban 4. deathly hallows (i haven't finished reading it but so far i rlly like it) 5. philosophers stone 6. chamber of secrets 7. goblet of fire
I’m now OBSESSED with the thought of Harry and Ron’s fight being saved for when Ron leaves in DH 🤯
Now you need to do a movie ranking
He does!!!!! That’s a great idea
I dont know for first 7 movies, but I know number 8 is Goblet of fire.
@@porodicnoblago5791 number four is goblet of fire

I agree perfectly, i enjoyed the half blood prince my first time around that I finished the whole thing in 3 days
This is actually the correct order of the books, worst to best 7/7! Good job!
