Both Manchester and Liverpool have big ethnic Ukranian populations and in Manchester there's a big Polish population too. Manchester also has a big LBGT+ area with Canal Street.
It's a pity that we can't host next year's Eurovision. But everyone in Ukraine is happy that the next Eurovision will be held in the UK. Thanks for support)
The reason I think Glasgow is top of the odds is because it has everything required. The SEC Campus which has the Hydro Arena hosted COP26 and has enormous capacity for delegates and press on site. It is surrounded by hotels and the BBC Scotland HQ is across a pedestrian bridge over the Clyde from the SEC. The campus itself is a 15 min walk from the city centre, which itself is compact. The Commonwealth Games in 2014 were fantastic and the compactness made you feel you were at the games as soon as you stepped off the train 😊🏴 Manchester has the huge arena but its in the city centre above a railway station and wouldnt have the ‘village’ feel that Glasgow would give 😉🚲
This is the UK celebrating Ukraine's win - it has got to reflect Ukraine.... a joint venture between 2 countries..... Sheffield is twinned with Donetsk.... a link between the 2 countries.... It's had major events before, the World Student Games, Swimming, an athletics Grand Prix....hosts the World Snooker Championships every year..... this year had several of the Women's Euro matches, includind the semi-final tonight....... but mainly it is twinned with Donetsk.
For me, I think Manchester should host. The BBC studios are right there in Salford Quays, it has an international airport, a 30,000-seater stadium; trams every 10 mins, hotels everywhere, the gay village on Canal St. It would be perfect.
The BBC are one of the worlds wealthiest broadcasters & if anyone can pull out all the stops & put on a spectacular Eurovision It's them. I've no doubt there'll be a huge Ukranian Influence throughout the entire event as it should be. How cool would It be if they secretly flew Zelensky in to make a surprise appearance. Congrats Ukraine on winning & Congrats UK for hosting on their behalf, we all know you'll do them proud.
We hope to see you and Mike somewhere in the UK next year! I'm hoping for Glasgow.. maybe bring back Katie Boyle and have the Kilted Coaches and Verka Serduchdka as hosts! An obvious suggestion for the logo.. use UK in the design! Have a great 'winter' .. hallo from Norway
It's less about the UK and more about getting away from London government rule. There are plenty within England who would do the same if they could vote for that kind of independence instead of being ruled by upper class eton rich kids and millionaires (or in rishi's case, billionaires). Eurovision was created by an italian, now via the European Broadcasting Union for members of the EBA
Cardiff. The UK has never held the event in Wales (or NI). The Principality Stadium holds 74,000. The UK's largest indoor arena

big Polish community in Liverpool too, my current neighbors are a Polish-born family

Thought Sturgeon wants to leave the UK,so it seems odd she so keen to host the contest...

have we left yet. no. why shouldn’t we want to have opportunities while we are still here
Surely hosting would show solidarity WITH Europe!
