    KNITTED BABY BOOTIES WITHOUT A SINGLE SEAM
    #babybooties #knitbabybooties #knittedbootiesnewborn
    These booties are knitted in rounds and are made without a single seam. You can wear these booties in at least three different ways. I-cord is optional. You can definitely leave it aside. However, I feel that it complements the colours of the booties and completes the work with a nice little bow.
    Merino wool used is very soft and not scratchy. Those qualities make it the perfect material for baby clothes. Knitting with this yarn is easy and fast.
    I was using circular netting needles for this project. However, straight needles in a set of 4 or 5 needles can be used too, as well, as short sock needles that are very popular these days.
    Size of the sole of a bootie:
    8*5cm
    Size for a newborn baby.
    The size can be adjusted by knitting the longer sole of the bootie (extending the middle part of the sole). And adding additional loops from the sole to the heel part of the bootie.
    Materials used:
    100% Italian merino Wool 125m/50g (Two colours: white milk and pink)
    100% cotton yarn 125m/50g

    I love these booties and am attempting to make them for my nephew's baby which is due March 24th. I have a question about the decreases done on the sole. I have never seen anyone turn and switch the stitches around when decreasing. Why do you do this? Can I just knit 2 together through the front? Thank you for your time and sharing your expertise!

    • @iuliiacraft
      @iuliiacraft  10 месяцев назад

      Hi ☺️ Thank you ❤️ I hope they like the present 🎁
      Switching the position of the loops helps to make decreases less visible or make them almost invisible. If you like the way your decreases look when you knit 2 together you should not worry about switching the position of the loops. That’s up to you and it won’t change a pattern or any major details of the tutorial.
      Good luck with your project ❤️

      Thank you so much! I am fairly new to knitting anything other than a scarf! I made it to the top part where you switch colors and do garter stitch! Yay! I struggled with the sole where you folded it but it looks ok. One question to improve on my 2nd bootie hopefully: The heal between the magic loop gap looks very loose and stretched out. I can send a picture if that would help. Do you have any suggestions? Your booties look perfect! I plan to remake another pair and want to fix this if possible.@@iuliiacraft

    • @iuliiacraft
      @iuliiacraft  3 года назад

      Thank you so much ☺️♥️
      Once the sole of a bootie was done, I started knitting in rounds on circular needles. I picked up loops around the sole for that. Using stitch marker helps with keeping a track of rounds. When I needed to switch a pattern I did that in a new round and continue counting rounds of a new pattern.
      I was moving loops from a needle cord to needle tips after knitting about 20-30 loops. I was using not the most comfortable size of needle tips and a cord for this booties and that’s why I had an extra space on the cord. Using shorties (for example twist shorties from ChiaoGoo that I recently bought) is much more comfortable.
      I hope I answered your question 🤗 let me know if you’d like to know something else 😉

      @@iuliiacraft i tried to knit it with circular needles with following charateristics: needle points length: 14 cm, and cord length: 35 cm, but I still didn't manage to knit in the rounds.I am dying to get this project done, but looks like I'll need to buy a pair of needles with shorter points and longer cord. What are your thoughts/experience on that? Thank your for your help, it's very appreciated!

    • @iuliiacraft
      @iuliiacraft  3 года назад

      Hi! Do you have 2 pairs of regular circular needles? Do you have a 3rd pair of needles to use? If you can use the third pair it would be more comfortable to knit. Basically, it'll be like knitting with three straight sock needles and you'll have enough space to move loops.
      You need to have comfortably placed loops on one pair of needles to start knitting the next round with another pair.
      If you'd try evenly distribute loops on two pairs of needles you'd have enough length to make loops with cords. It might seem like a good start but once you'd start knitting you'd see that you have to work all loops from one pair of needles to another to start your next row. Somewhere halfway through it would get hard to move a needle tip of your working (right) needle as you'd have 1/3 of all your loops there already.
      I'd suggest trying 3 pairs of needles or longer cords for more comfortable knitting))) Good luck!! I hope it was helpful)))

    How many stitches should you do for a 1 year old?

    • @iuliiacraft
      @iuliiacraft  Год назад +1

      I would just make the sole of the boots a bit longer and increase the loops around accordingly. If i remember correctly, my daughter's feet were about 12 cm in 1 year. It would make just about 2 more rows more then it is in he totorial and add 4 more loops around (2 loops on each side). Fee free to reach out if you have further questions)))

    Hello, how many stitches should you do for a 6-month old?

    • @iuliiacraft
      @iuliiacraft  Год назад

      Hi! I would suggest leaving the same number of loops when you cast on the sole part at the beginning of knitting but rather making the sole a bit longer by adding a few rows. For example, if a baby's foot is 10-11 cm long in six months you should add 8-12 rows before you start decreasing loops to finish the sole. In that way, you should end up with 54 or 58 rows respectfully before you start making decreases (according to the pattern it is row # 47).
      Overall, you will end up with 58-62 rows in the sole part.
      After that, you should pick up loops around and end up with 72 or 76 loops (depending on the baby's foot length, 10 or 11 cm).
      Add those extra 8-12 loops to the toe part of the boots. Instead of 29 loops (according to the pattern) you will have 37 or 41 loops. You should include those loops to round # 17 where you should have 4-6 more decreases to make. After that, the pattern should be the same as written in the description.
      Please let me know if you'd have any further questions)

      Should I do more rep of 2knits 2purls?
      Or do more decrease until same loops with round 20?

    • @iuliiacraft
      @iuliiacraft  Год назад

      Hi! I would suggest leaving the same number of purls and knits and making more decreases in the toe part. You just need to make the sole longer and respectfully, make more decreases at the toe part. The heel part would not be too different in size for 6mo. So do more decreases to end up with the same number of loops in round #20. Hope it helps)) Feel free to reach out@@jennifer990108

    • @iuliiacraft

      Hi! 🙂
      Right after I pick up 64 loops on circular needles, I continue with knit stitches and go around starting with the very first stitch that was picked up. I knit (knit stitch) for 7 rows around. Because I knit in rounds I have to make just knit stitches to get stockinette pattern (knits on one side and purls on the other) ❤️

      I know that , you just didn’t understand me , you are knitting with a circular needles in the round , how are you able to knit around without being stuck, I was trying with 22 inches total length of my circular needles and got stock on half of first row , don’t have enough space to knit ,it is like my needles are too long to knit....thanks for responding to my message...😊

    • @iuliiacraft
      @iuliiacraft  4 года назад +1

      Ohhh.... I got you 😉
      My cord is about 50cm long. Keeting needles are short (about 8cm each). I knit till my needles allow me and then pulling the cord and leave a loop. And repeat this process. I think It would be even better to try 2 pairs of short needles. (Like sock shorties). I didn’t have the needed size in shorties so I used a long cord. Probably not the best solution but works for me just fine.

      @@iuliiacraft thank you so much for your help , The problem is with the length of the needles, mine are just regular , so I can knit with two separate circular needles like 16 inches total? but how to do it?

    • @iuliiacraft
      @iuliiacraft  4 года назад +2

      Hi! Do you have 2 pairs of regular circular needles 16inch each (together
      tips+cord)? Do you have a 3rd pair of needles to use? If you can use the third pair it would be more comfortable to knit. Basically, it'll be like knitting with three straight sock needles and you'll have enough space to move loops.
      It might be challenging to use 2 pairs of 16 inc needles. (if that's what you meant). The reason why is that you need to have comfortably placed loops on one pair of needles to start knitting the next round with another pair. You can place all loops on 16 inches but it does not give you a slack to move your needle tips.
      If you'd try evenly distribute loops on two pairs of 16inch needles you'd have enough length to make loops with cords. It might seem like a good start but once you'd start knitting you'd see that you have to work all loops from one pair of needles to another to start your next row. Somewhere halfway through it would get hard to move a needle tip of your working (right) needle as you'd have 1/3 of all your loops there already.
      I'd suggest trying 3 pairs of 16inch needles or longer cords for more comfortable knitting))) Good luck!! I hope it was helpful)))
