DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender:

For millennia, the evil Galra empire has plagued the universe by destroying other civilizations and enslaving various races. The only known threat strong enough against the empire's power and plans is the legendary "Defender of the Universe" Voltron, a 100 meter tall robot warrior composed of five lion mechas whose pilots are known as the Paladins.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe is an American animated television series that features a team of astronauts who pilot a giant Super Robot known as "Voltron". The first season of Voltron, featuring the "Lion Force Voltron", was adapted from the Japanese anime television series Beast King GoLion. The second season, featuring the "Vehicle Team Voltron", was adapted from the unrelated anime series Armored Fleet Dairugger XV.

Vehicle and Lion Voltron was supposed to be part of a supposed to be a trilogy of animated shows being part of a big single series

@@ZarctheCelestialDuelist which unfortunately didn’t get the third installment, but instead we get the second season of Voltron defender of the universe, the lion version.
Let’s compare this to Robotech, which lasted three seasons because they were adapted from three shows. And also a three-part miniseries that was not in either of the shows, including an original OVA that takes place after the third season, and tie in comic books and novels.
