Thank you for everything Kristina! ♡ My name is Serena and I'm 13 years old and a vegan. Because of you, I've conquered anorexia and now i am happy and healthy. Although my parents don't support the lifestyle I've chosen, especially coming from an Italian culture where pasta, cheese, and meat is life, I owe it to you. On my journey of becoming vegan, I learned to love myself and food again. This challenge is a great opportunity for me because I've always wanted to be a fully raw vegan. I have 3 goals i want to accomplish after this challenge: love myself inside and out, be a fullyraw vegan, and have a stronger relationship with God :) lots of love ♡
Serena Scirrotto You should be extremely proud of yourself. Overcoming a serious illness like anorexia and doing all of this without family support takes a strong and courageous person! There is so much love and support out there. I’m happy for you that you are finding that here.

Bravo. Continua così and stay healthy (I haven't conversed in Italian in years so I've forgotten most of it).
My family is still not really supportive of me being on a plant-based diet, but I've learnt not to care about what they say and how they try to get me to go back to eating how I used to because it's not right for me, it's not right for my body and my health. I was very sick, anaemic and had an eating disorder that I didn't know how to work with. Now, it's been almost a whole year and I have not needed to take any form of medication, I haven't needed to see a doctor, I haven't had to take my iron pills and I probably still have the eating disorder, but I can work with it an not let it affect me negatively.
Keep doing what you're doing, Serena.
p.s If you are wondering what the eating disorder is, it's called 'SED,' but I have a unique case of it where the texture of foods put me off them, I don't like many foods, I go off foods, I don't get hungry (I have gone 6 days without food and my mum called daily after I moved out to ensure I remembered to eat) and I used to not be able to eat the same amount of food as an average person (I ate as much as a toddler (or less) and yet, I was overweight. I still need to research on how and why that was the case).

I want to be so energetic, loving, beautiful just like you :) I'm on vegan diet for a week now, feeling better and better everyday but still I have not said about my veganism decision to no one... and all people I know are meat eaters. so I'm kinda alone :) but not lonely! I want to keep going on this path and nobody will stop me. why? because I know that's right for me.

Neil McLeod You dont have to buy all the fancy equipment. Just a cheap blender will get you by to start with - it won't do greens very well (you'll have to blend them for a LONG time) or frozen bananas, but will definitely get you started!
Neil McLeod black & decker glass jar blender is great for around $37.00 at amazon free shipping, or a cuisinart glass jar.. when it comes to the less pricey i always go for the glass jar, little heavier granted however they seem to me to blend better. you can do all sorts of smoothies. as for juicing, i saw a couple youtube vids where they added just a bit of water to the kale celery etc and basically pureed it then strained. that might be a more budget friendly option.

Shmidgety Love I have the same thing here with my husband: he thinks raw food is rabbit food, but I try to make it work by going raw once a day, for example in the morning with the juices or smoothies or at lunchtime at work, in the evening I have my regular diner with my younger kids and husband.
I find the challenges hard with young kids, i like the idea of being and going healthier but they don't like raw food.

I noticed that when I'm having cravings it's because I haven't eaten enough. Eat A LOT! Eating a TBS or two of seeds or nuts may help too 😊
Tyna Hefner What I always do when I have a craving for something sweet is have mangoes and dates on hand...they're sweet enough so that my craving goes away and I'm not filling my body with junk.
this is not only about your body but also about your soul! The transformation that can happen through this lifestyle is more than lifechanging, it is what this world needs :)

Incorporating the message of love is vital. Everytime ive done a lifestyle haul for vain reasons i have failed but for the healthy love my body from the inside out reasons i have succeeded!
During this challenge I have had SO much more energy than usual! Self-love is not always easy but once you learn, it makes life so much better!
I love how powerful and unique your videos are within the raw food community! So positive and uplifting. . . .growing up (all the way into my 30's) I hated my stocky muscular legs. Then I started hiking and backpacking and without my strong legs I would have never made up some of the tallest peaks in the US. . . now it's my favorite body part! So needless to say I LOVED your "homework assignment"!! :)

I had to watch this twice and I will probably watch again and again. When this challenge began my husband was about o undergo surgery for a brain tumor. This made it unthinkable for me to start something like this. Now that he he is recovering I am more fully aware how important it is to take care of ourselves and adopt healthy habits. I believe that this process would be much easier for him if we lived a healthier lifestyle. I know that I likely will never convince him to go fully raw but I am hoping that through example he will see the good in this.

I decided to go fully raw for this challenge. I've done it before and have been fully raw for 6 days now. Summer is the perfect time to do this because I have the time and motivation. This challenge is the perfect opportunity to get my nutrition back on track. Thanks.

So happy your doing this. Loving myself has been one of the my biggest struggles. Thank you!
One area I need to work on disciplining myself more on is eating late at night. I am working on making 9 pm my deadline and then move it up to 8 pm and so on. It does make it difficult when I have been so used to staying up so late and now working on going to bed earlier. I enjoy getting up as early as 6 am to go for long walks before it gets too hot here in the morning. With me getting more exercise, I do fall asleep in my chair earlier at night. Not easy to make necessary changes but do enjoy the benefits of regular exercise and eating healthier. I do believe the new healthier habits will come in time as long as I stay with this new lifestyle I am currently developing!!
It's tough living with my family who doesn't completely support me going fully raw. While I feel better when eating raw. Especially, pain is diminished, inflammation and water retention is greatly reduced, and I have more enwwhy. Thanks Kristina
I'm a little late but catching up on all of the videos now. I have learned that when I simply eat vegan I am a junk-food vegan and I do not love myself. Fully raw is where I feel the best and I am making the transition. Thank you for all of the support you have provided to help with this.

I think I have watched almost all of your videos more than once. They are my resource tools for when I start to feel in doubt about some aspect of this lifestyle. I have slowly transitioning for 3 months now. I'm losing weight which is a goal but the main goal is to rid my body of the dis-ease that has come my way.

I have been keeping up with the videos since day 1 but have been at a youth camp and for whatever reason my cell phone wouldn't allow me to like or comment on the videos, so I am just now being able to comment on the videos!! O and BTW, they prepared 3 meals a day for us and I only ate salad and fruit :)
I am excited about this challenge. I hope that I can truly make this work for me because my Doctor told me that this diet plan would be my best friend, especially since I have been diagnosed with Pre-diabetes and Diabetes runs heavily in my family. My Mom, Dad, both brothers, my Aunt, my Great Grandma, my Great Great Grandma, a second cousin and more.
The rules/guidelines are so on point!

This challenge is going to be difficult for me. But I can't wait to "feel confident in my skin." I've been feeling sick and down for the past few years. My being sick has gone unexplained by doctors, made it incredibly difficult to work, focus on schoolwork, and keep from being moody, and stopped me from being able to do many things throughout the end of my high school. Although I find myself to be a pretty loving person, I find it hardest to love myself. I'm ready to love my body.
