My strategy is and always will be. Make my own tier lists and then use said lists to draft BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE every round
How you should do it
Not me. For me all about stacking
The issue with stacking is one bad game or major injury and it affects your entire week/season.
You draft Tua and Hill and Tua goes down you lose your QB and a ton of productions at WR
@@Dadrian91wash your beard and buy some new clothes before tryna clown someone else
Get screwed on BYE weeks though with that.
Numbers don’t lie, and to be honest the waiver wire & luck with injuries is ultimately what wins it for you.
it is it is not skilk but luck that wins you. championshio
@@Dwatts24111 absolutely! I always tell my leauge mates drafting, waiver wire & luck with injuries only gets you to the playoffs. It takes pure luck to bring home the 🏆.
We have implemented a rule with waivers this year. You get 1 free waiver each week. Any waiver that you make after the free one must start in the week you picked him up. This is an attempt to prevent stashing.
Jake, I can’t keep up with all these BANGERS of videos you’re dropping!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Always great info. Thank you.
always straight facts!
BPA is always the best
strategy!
Going godwin/Jeff wilson over evans/mostert hurt me last year but the process was sound imo.
Definitely needed to hear that.
Love this channel man ! They helped me win it all last year !!
Love this video. I would love to see you do the same next year with the 2024 results and combine this info to have an even more in-depth point of view for next year.
Amazing video!!!
Oh I will 😁
These are my favorite videos you do, yearly. Love it.
This draft strategy advice is very helpful. Thanks for doing the research. I'm definitely going to use this strategy.
Glad it was helpful!
Just found your channel today and I am glad I did!!!
Welcome!!
GREAT video as always!!! This was my favorite video last year!!! This is my favorite video this year I have to take a wide reciever first or second, then a running back first or second. Then best available. I had one of the best years tuntil Chubb and Mikre Williams got hurt!!!
I tend to go the RB Hero approach aka a balanced first 5 rounds. Making sure I take 3-4 WR's, 1-2 top tier RBs, 1 QB, 1 TE inside 7 rounds. BE FLEXABLE!!
Honestly my biggest takeaway from this video was how OP Christian McCaffery is
Thank you Jake for doing all the homework!
👊🏼
Love the balanced approach bro!#HUBMAGIC, #HEADLINERNATION, #MAKINGTHEWORLDABETTERPLACE!
👊🏼
Jake is da man. Stacking is great until someone gets hurt. Always my luck lol
Thanks Jake.
Another banger (air humping)!
🍆
Great content!
Thanks for the info! I was just curious, does the QB/TE draft locations (round/number) play a factor you consider when doing these? I think this is super informative, just curious if that might cause one of the categories to tip the scales.
Headliners are the Aristocrat dealer of online football fantasy information 💪🏼🏈
So cool that u do different types of videos. The fantasy streets are so vanilla these days! Gimme that twist!
Love the video Jake. I’m been in one league for 15 years now and we added one keeper the last 2 years. Last years champion picked Kyren Williams in the 14th round which will be his keeper this year. Many of the top RB’s will be keepers. Throws another wrench in my strategy for 2024 😩
For sure.... Forces your hand to get an RB early kinda
My favorite draft strategy is getting into draft rooms where everyone lets the best pick fall.
I have a lineup and it’s still active where player 12 picked hurts then 9 RBs in a row.
If that can go thru I can only imagine what draft rooms the winners of these tournaments actually have.
.
This is the best fantasy study I’ve seen. Lends a lot of insight when you’re factoring out your drafts
👊🏼
Great research I applause you🎉
Another Banger!
I did exactly what you mentioned here last year on my way to another championship.
My draft went WR, QB, RB, RB, WR, TE, then filled in the rest of my spots.
The team was loaded with Diggs, Lamar, Walker, Evans, Hockenson, and I picked up Mostert and Nico in the 9th and 13th!
This year, I'm targeting Murray, Chase, Nacua, King Henry, Mixon, and Pitts if I can't get Kelce, with Pickens, Stevenson, Zeke, and Jameson Williams as mid/late round sleepers.
I'm hoping for pick #6 in a 12 team league because I can probably get everything I want there.
Godly fantasy knowledge right here. Thank you
You're very welcome
Banger
30 hours is insane that’s why you guys are the best
Illuminating.
Great vid!
Much appreciated!
Wow! I had the 12th overall pick and ended up with very very close to that combo one and won my league
Excellent quality analysis and breakdown
I changed the way I drafted in 2017, going with a value based drafting system. My teams ended in the money 6 out of the 8 years. I feel you need to be fluid during the draft, and take advantage of players who are under valued.
A little waiver wire skill, a little draft skill, and possible trade skill if needed.
I say that to say a little bit of each resource is needed for decent fantsy squads....
excellent advice as usual!! Play the draft and don't feel pressured to stick to a strategy cause it's "hot"
Exactly!
My draft (re-draft .5ppr) strategy is to load up on RB/WR and wait till almost the end to grab QB/TE, and of course D/ST with K last.
Playing fantasy over the years, I find that you can always use another RB (especially RB) and WR. QB/TE is basically streamable.
te is the least likely to get a stud
I agree, though guys in my league like to start loading up on QB backups starting in Round 9, so I have to be careful!
Balance is key to fantasy football and life! Take the good times and be ready for the bad! Great video as always
Well said!
This is likely the MOST informative, productive segment in all of fantasy-landia...
I tend to agree
I drafted Mostert as my last player last season, and he absolutely put my team on 10!! 🗣Nuuuuuke Squad!!
You guys are definitely one of the more entertaining FF channels, where else are you gonna hear”researching the nuts off of it”?
Another banger
Video idea, can we get a chart on which draft position scored the best? There always seems to be a fall off around 8 plus you don't get the double pick in snake drafts.
I always build strong teams. My issue is that I always do a big trade before the deadline and the beast I traded for either gets hurt or just completely falls off immediately after the trade lol I'm gonna see if I can restrain myself this year 🤞
Balanced has always been my approach. I try and take 2 rbs and 1 WR in first 3 rounds if possible
Went zero RB last year and finished with over 2000 points in full PPR 12 man league. It really depends on who you draft late that ends up turning up (I.e Mostert, Puka & Kyren)
Great advixe! We have 1.5 PPR for TEs in our League, does that mean at 10th pick i should reach for LaPorta in the 2nd or 3rd?
If you want to be safe yes.... Unless you want to wait just a little longer for a guy like Jake Ferguson
@@TheFantasyHeadliners legends! Much appreciated 👍
Yes! Same results as last year. You also said there was a clear advantage to getting a Top 3 RB. How does that play out?
Ive always gone RB heavy may have to go best player available each round but im always trying to get 3 rb 3 wr before i grab a qb or te
Good sleeper pick up for volume Josh Palmer as well not consistent but we know Herbert and Palmer have chemistry !
A draft guide to help me regain my title I won a few years ago.
#realtalk. Ekler at #4 killed me. Only thing that saved me was B. Hall in the 6th RD and C.D. In RD 2.
Ekeler at 4 here as well but Kyren Williams off the waiver wire and a couple good trades and I won it all. We have a 12 team standard scoring league for over 20 years. I use a balanced approach but normally go RB, RB, QB, WR, RB, WR, RB, best available from here. I've always loved my league mates that go 0 RB because they always crash and burn!😂
Makes sense I always go RB 1 and RB 2 with RB 1 potential every year and back to back champ and I’ve been playing for 4 years
And top 3 in other two leagues every single year.
Too many teams with multi WRs that are good.
Yup, gotta be fluid. Last year got Tyrek in round 1 and CD Lamb was staring at me so instead of forcing a rb, took CD.
Did you win with that lineup?
@@philipbryan2685he came in 8th place
Thanks for the breakdown Jake, enjoyed the video!!
My pleasure!
Does the same theory apply to dynasty leagues? Could you do a video on that and how teams would likely do in subsequent years?
Every sense I join this channel I’m always n the playoffs or competing for a championship 😊
Love to hear that
hey Jake I drafted my wife team last year I use the combo but I need help in the later rds where I suck alot of times
Fiiinnnneee… I’ll subscribe.. 😏
How much would ppr swing these results?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Been doing different strats in mocks and I really love 3 rbs right off rip, followed by a top 5 qb then WR/WR and another rb.
Were the numbers for the control variables (QB/TE) similar across the board?
Yup.
hey jake im in a 14 team im in the 9-14 spot which one should I use ?
Whoever the best player is that falls to you!
#REALTALK This is why you guys are better than any other football "experts". Disproving things with actual statistics and #facts
Much appreciated! 👊🏼
Last year I waited till rounds 5-7 to draft my RBS and got Mixon, White, and James Cook. After taking Lamb, ARSB, Olave, and Hockenson in the first 4 rounds. Won my league handily.
8 man league??
I love the deep dive on this!
Appreciate it!
My experience is my best teams are the ones when I catch a player that fell one or two rounds. Unfortunately, that depends on 11 other guys passing on someone.
If I waited until the 6th round to draft a Running Back, my head would blow a gasket ,the stress and pressure would cause blood to ooze out of from my nose and ears. That thought is just a nightmare. Get your RBs for sure
So true. Same here
I won my fantasy league last year and this was my starting team
Trevor Lawrence
Josh Jacobs
James Conner
Joe mixon
Alvin kamara
DJ moore
Tee Higgins
Olave
Laporta
Goedert
Started the season 1-4
I traded my ass off for AJ Brown, ceedee lamb, and Jalen hurts. Moral of the story don't fall in love with who you draft. Trade teams that are about to spiral due to injury and hit the waiver wire hard early. I got puka week 2 and it opened up so many doors for trades. Finished the season
Jalen hurts
Josh Jacobs
James Conner
Ceedee
Puka
AJ
DJ
Higgins
La porta
Does this apply to best ball (flock drafts) ?
No idea what the hell a flock draft is but no, this is not for best ball
@@TheFantasyHeadliners underdog fantasy lol my bad. Thank u. This is just for regulars leagues not best ball. Got it.
Ive always gone with the balance. But when my pick comes up, its about value
#RealTalk how do I get that 49ners helmet in the background? 😅😅😅
LoL 😂
I'll think about it
BPA but players in same tier I will lean RB,
Best available builds best depth. No reaches
Best Fantasy advice: Draft th3 best available player and build an overall solid team. Jake nailed it.
👊🏼
Call me chicken💩but I couldn't dare go zero wr/rb. I gotta build a monster across the board
I had ekeler, Leporta, Cooper, Hurts, JJ, and mostert, and I still lost my 1 QB 10man PPR league in the first round of playoffs. Ekeler was my first round pick so It did in fact destroy my season. 1st round picks seem to be make or break in redraft.
Love your work but how you gonna get Mike Evans in the 7th round? That’s why they were the best team! I can make a great team drafting Tyreek Hill in the 6th round too. 😮
Dude.... Listen to the video man. It's not that hard and you avoid looking silly out there
Do you have any statistics on what them zero RB teams would look like if they picked up Williams in the first week? A big part of the zero RB is the waiver wire!!
Ya but that's basing you're season on having to win weekly waiver pickups.
It's not like it's guaranteed you will get the top waiver RBs.
@@TheFantasyHeadliners that’s very true, but I think that’s a part of their strategy. Running backs go down, left and right as you know and a skillful manager can make the most out of it . I believe taking the best player available for a first three rounds is the best way to go, then go from there! I don’t necessarily disagree with your finding!
@@AnthonyRossi-xx5io For sure. I'm just not trying to gamble on my team before the team starts the season 😂
I look at it kinda like this..... Why are there no big time creators or sites that push Zero RB as the best way to go? 😂
#realtalk I drafted mosert, evans, rrice which helped me through out the season but missed the playoffs 😢
You da man Jake! Appreciate the content! Best advice you can give folks, don't get stuck on a player or position! 💯✌️
I appreciate that!
If this scoring system would be full ppr I wonder how much diff it would be
#realtalk Rams v Texans SuperBowl, you're welcome.
Perfectly balanced , as all things should be
Facts
WR with the first 3 picks. Then go RBs.
Not for me 👍🏼
I did a draft with guys I've avoided completely in all my other drafts. Ended up my highest rated team with point total 3526 on Underdog lol
Last year I ran all these strategies and more through a simulation program I created, using ADP data from 2017 to 2023. The bottom line is that over the long haul, no one strategy is superior to another, assuming all strategies are reasonably grounded in logic, because there are simply too many unpredictable variables, injuries being first and foremost among them. I’m not saying don’t use a strategy. By all means, find one you like and use it. But don’t waste your time searching for the Holy Grail of Fantasy Football; it doesn’t exist.
Kinda feel like I said something similar to that 😂
You didn't mention to add when it comes to the zero rb strategy, how Important getting the waiver wire adds were. Achan and Ford really helped guys that didn't draft top RBs.
Pretty sure I mentioned stuff like that at the end of the video.
@@TheFantasyHeadlinersI commented at the 13:00 Mark. You made it sound like for zero rb strategy to work you needed 3 of the 5 middle round RBs. With no chance of getting 3 cause they all go around at the same time.
@@christopher2808
Not what I said man. I didn't say they all had the same round. Didn't say there was no chance.
Mentioned in the video that nailing mid/late round and QB picks are more important than any strategy and so on...
First off, wanna say that I absolutely love what you and Kyle put out! The time and effort is apparent and appreciated! I am curious however, what format(redraft, best ball, etc) is this video based around? Or is this geared towards all of em?
Appreciate it! Everything we do is redraft unless it says dynasty or best ball in the title
It’s also determined by your league requirements my league starts 1Rb 1Wr 3 flex in this setup u absolutely want Wrs in your flex spot
Why do you absolutely want WRs in your flex?
In full PPR once u get outside of top 8Rb Wr score more points than Rb
Multiple flex spots def make a difference and with only having to start 1 Rb wr gain more value imo
@@Ravens752003 we've broken down all the math in the past... The difference is really not that much.... And with RBs you get guaranteed weekly touches.... Plus they aren't reliant on another players performance like WRs are with QBs....
For example....
Let's just say you have DK Metcalf... If Geno goes down then Metcalf takes a hit... But Kenneth Walker doesn't.
I love to have a stud WR early.... But after that let me stack up RBs who get volume since the WR position is so deep
I def get what u saying but I also think the wkly overall touches thing is overstated. If you look at let’s say top 20 at each position and you look at how Many successful scoring wks they have even with the RBs guranteed volume they still don’t have more top positional finishes than the Wr position. I Will say I def agree that Qb is a huge piece that u have to have
I can't do a zero draft. My FOMO and lack of impulse control won't allow it. Always teired, and best value.
What's the point if you draft same Qb? Same TE?
The whole point is to get better at those positions if doing ZERO RB or WR.
It's literally said why at the start of the video
@@TheFantasyHeadlinerswatched the test of the video. I understand the premise. That's what I get for jumping to type.😂
Went 0 RB last year and won for the first time
That's called luck
Zero qb/heavy rb is the winning strategy this year
I have never and will never draft a qb before the 7th round.. As a result.. 3 championships in 4 years!!!!
Nice bro!
great job Jake
Thanks Justin!
I feel bad for anyone around pick 8-10. I would hate to take breece bijan or Gibbs in the first round
