Love seeing you on the deegan channel talking about MX and bikes and stuff. You seem like a genuinely cool and good person. Glad the deegans treat you so good
Duff, you are a very special young man to make the sacrifices you make to help other people be successful, you have dreams and goals, I hope you get to achieve every one of them. Best of luck and hope you get everything you deserve in life!!!!!!!
Thank you for the candor and the raw intensity of this treasure of info…Duf’s next breath depends on livin this intensity and inspires me to higher excellence
So under appreciated mechanics with out them riders go no where there the heart behind the beast congrats u and H.D Brian is a gentleman of all gentlemen
The series is a grind had no idea until i did 25 of the rounds last year and my hats off to everyone who has been doing it for years. Its way more of a grind flying in and out every week and then preping for the weekend when you get home.
How come they don’t advertise that school very much?! I went to MMI and even told my teachers I wanted to get into suspension and more into motors just everything. They said factory’s have to send you lol on sad side the dealer that sent me to school when I got back was basically worthless because they knew me since I was 4 years old lol so then I ended up starting my own off-road team with my buddy and hands down learned more at the races talking to ppl In 4 years then all my years growing up working on everyone’s bikes lol
Wow! That’s crazy cool! Imagine still going to a “race” mechanic school & then a factory team gives a call to the school needing a best mechanic (you) & the next thing know, you’re packing your stuff to start your first career ever at 18 years old.
And I thought Top Fuel drag mechanics were the epitome of working under pressure, this guy really opened my eyes that a pro motocross mechanic is under the same pressure.. Brent history is pretty similar to Lee Edmonson (Billy Bolts mechanic)..they definitely don’t do it for money Brent Duffey is one really interesting dude..
Kind of along the same line as Brent was saying. I’m a 36 year-old single man from Pennsylvania. I put myself through trade, trucking school at the age of 29. As an owner operator, I now have my own trucking business and can totally relate to him staying single. It’s not fair to another individual. IMO 🤷🏼♂️ I get what he’s saying.
I’m hoping these are hourly positions with all this travel. I’m a corporate aircraft mechanic and travel for work. I’d just never take a job like this for a salary position to turn a wrench. Just wild. Hope they get paid good. The only thing that makes being gone from home is that w2 at the end of the year to remind you to do it again.
Most important thing I can tell ppl is when your talking to ppl at the races. Even if you know how to do whatever or think you do just ask ppl anyways how they would do something. Even if you know there’s always someone that may do soemthing just a lil bit diff that you haven’t thought about that save you time or pain and suffering lol I learned more talking to ppl and just picking their brain about stupid things lol
I’ve been to mmi with dreams of moto race mechanic and I just think that wasn’t helpful to me hardly at all for that aspect… maybe if you wanted to work at a dealership or shop… but not a race mechanic imo.
I thought same thing lol they have to teach you like you’ve never sat on a bike before when my teacher told me that I kinda was disappointed lol I have ADHD so if I’m not interested in the basics became I went threw them by the time I was 14 I’m tuned out lol I still had fun there but I was really disappointed in way lol
I mean, hoping it’s more than at…a bare minimum 120k plus. Being gone that much from home? I’m making over 200k and I still think about when I want to stop. Soooo better be much more.

But that's Brian he deeply appreciates everything you do Duff to help Haiden be successful and it's truly a deep felt Thank You!
What an amazing man I could listen to this pod over and over.

I need to watch this entire interview. Duffe / Deegan might be ( it's to early ) the most dynamic rider - mechanic duo since Skip / Jeremy.
You deserve to be around great people. Your a Saint in everyone's eyes around you!
Good stuff as usual liked the guest always love when you have mechanic and trainers on not to forget sleeter is always gold on the pod
This guy is a solid and honest man. I can see why the teams value him.

Duffe is great, he has become part of the Deegan story!
Hope that Hayden always has him around on every level
Duff. Living legend in his mid prime. Just wait.
Thee best of thee best....... that's all that needs to be said!!!!
These are best interviews.
Duff=BEST MECHANIC FOR LIL DEEGS
Man I love this industry!

Brent Duffey is one really interesting dude..
I'm a full time race mechanic, practice mechanic, driver, sponsor & medic.... Can't be that bad!!
Deegans start their own team, bring duf in to be the head mechanic/team manager. Duf stays with them and has more time to himself.
Why start their own team? Way more headache and the point is to make money not spend money to race
