my first trip to Glamis in the year 2000 was with my brand new DS 650, it was epic! my second trip to Glamis 3 years later was with my DS 650 with a CBR 1000 motor. that's what Glamis will do to you.. couldn't ride the quad really anywhere else but 5 times at Glamis was well worth the transformation. it's been 8 years since I've been out there and after watching this video I realize I need to go back soon, I'm feeling the pull back towards the West.
Great vid bros! Always look forward to new material from you 👍🏻 Had to chuckle at the beginning, opening while working on the Arctic Twat was absolutely priceless! The closing scene with the flaming SXS Blog was freakin EPIC!!!! Keep em comin my dudes!!!!
The editing and different camera angles and views and drone footage was epic good job nick! And I agree with the other people 30 min is a long time but with your videos I'm like damn it's already over! I can't wait for the other videos especially Colorado. I've always wanted to ride there. I've rode in Red River New Mexico and it was really cool and the views were amazing.
xDIRDx I've been to Colorado in Buena vista it's really cool and the view is amazing and the hills just keep going and going and where pretty easy there is some pretty nasty hills of to the side of the trails very steep and chewed out and long. I remember one hill we almost didn't make it in a RZR 900xp. Very fun place to ride just make sure u have EFI since some hills go to 13k elevation, pretty hard to breath too up there
It's so cool to see you guys experience Glamis for the first time. Taking on a place like this with no guide takes some balls. Glamis will definitely separate the men from the boys.
Been heading down sand highway to China Wall for decades and decades and we still blow by the turnoff. Everyone misses it sooner or later. Bright sun is somewhat snow blinding and ya miss the simplest of landmarks. Ya go back and say "WTF, how'd we miss that?" Theirs those that miss it and those that won't admit they missed it.
You guys are great, and another great video. Glamis is defiantly a winter destination gotta hit it up in December or January. Thanks for the great entertainment that you guys provide and keep those videos rolling. Can't wait to see Moab it is my all time favorite ride spot.
We're out there a lot. You guys definitely gotta meet up with us or some people who know what they are doing. You will be pinned in 4th for a lot of it. I'm not a SxS guy but you are more than welcome to go with us. Our rides are a mix of everything. And yes you guys were doing it the hard way! Lol Hope to see you guys out there this winter.
glamia day 1 area for sure looked fun. day 2 hmmmm well..... Cool to see the cat recover so fast. but cool jumps near the end and the fire logo was a nice touch
Thanks for watching to the bitter end. I try to put them together in a way that really captures what we do as opposed to the 3-5 min highlight reels you see everywhere else. Sit down, grab some pizza and a beer, and watch!
Amen to that! love the long videos.. i treat them like watching my favorite shows on netflix.. surprised u guys haven't put ads in the middle of the videos for a little more revenue lol
we would understand the ads help out and feed your guy's trips and videos which is great!l. but yeah can't wait for more videos of the trip to come out !
You guys need to come to St Anthony Idaho. Taller dunes by a long shot but smaller area. Not as hot and ride through the summer. You won't regret it if you like big bowls to ride
Cool vid!, Almost feels like I was there. I'm sure any new place is going to take some learning, but glamis really did look to be treacherous. Definitely would never go there solo. That sxs blog fire at the end was a great way to end the video. You've got a way with the editing and the music, Nick! Keep up the good work!
Sorry to see a repair underway early in Glamis, but nice to see your choice in synthetic grease. I make M1 oils everyday and the grease lab above me makes M1 grease all day every day. It's like R&D with 20#s of boost...we make everything from oil for taxi cabs to dragsters. M1 products money well spent.
Usually Halloween is the kick-off to Glamis season and when going up a dune you don't stop until your cresting the top, but at the same time don't fly over the top because it might not be what you expect on the other side. In summer heat night rides are the best and even in winter, but you want extreme lighting. Plus you can see others coming a lot easier.
Good video, it was so much work for you guys just to make it there. Then to be in a new place and not be familiar with it is always an issue. Looked really hot like a big frying pan out there too. Still looked like an awesome time!
Yeah it was completely worth it John! It's easy to get caught up in the heat and razorback dropoffs everywhere but looking back now we're absolutely in love with the place!
I always have your videos on the TV with my wife. My friends and I are always going on trips out of NY. The way you do your videos makes us feel like we know you guys. Like riding buds we never catch up with. Great channel!
We present things as they are, not fancied up or fake at all. We hope that resonates with our fans and allows us to maintain a level of credibility that others may lose trying to be something they're not. Thanks for watching again John! I'd rather have 100 dedicated fans over 1 million people who don't care.
Great Vid of you Guys. I usually only go in the winter months when its cooler. There are times I am by myself and ALWAYS stay on main Sand Roads then. As I know there will be traffic going by. Keep up the great work
There are a LOT of places you could run "4th gear wide open", just like the videos. You just didn't get to them. Behind Olds hill for example. The ISDRA is AWESOME, if you know where to go and what you're doing. Kudos for braving it without experienced duners with you!
Two trips to Glamis five to Pismo and one to Dumont. I think my Grey Tank on my Toy hauler has permanent sand in the bottom of it from showering! Yup, sand EVERYWHERE!!!
SXSBlog.com yeah let me know also I'll show you guys around. And if you want a crazy blog come on a holiday weekend just warning it gets crazy and cops lol.
You'll find some nice big bowls by the Osborne lookout. And next time camp on the Gecko campground side and there is a lot of fun and fast riding south of the Gecko campground loops.
Good video for sure but absolutely the wrong time of year to go lol. As a local who grew up going to glamis you can get 4th gear wide open in the bowls you just have to know how to pick a good line and flow through the dunes. You can’t go strait up and over anything because that is when you get in to trouble. If you have never been to glamis I can see how it would be hard to navigate the dunes. I loved the video great work keep it up.
i know the vid is a little older but i am just getting around to watching it. what brand of goggles is nick if im not mistaken wearing at 14:39? and do they work good? im constantly on the look out for a good pair to use on some of the dusty M.N. trails.
Next time the easiest way to China Wall, head south along the train tracks. On your left each wash along the train tracks are numbered. Number one is closest to Glamis Store. You wanna go alllllll the way to 24/25 then head west into the dunes (away from tracks. Its about 85% flats and 15% dunes. All driving and or riding experience can go. Theres one tricky section, the rest is easy money.
I watched Nick jump trying to see the camera bag come out of the car but could never see it. This last time I finally saw it. It came out on the first jump, he actually jumped on his bag twice before he saw it on the ground.
You guys are crazy lol. This glamis off season cuz of the heat. You guys should come down for Halloween. Its pretty much opening day and it gets jam pack.
I've got to say they did really good for it being there first time they need to work on the razor backs you can't go straight over them you have to transfer from one side to the other but other than that awesome video
gotta do glamis again guys, and definitely bring someone who knows t area... china wall is insane, u missed out. hit me up, i have plenty of sick leave to make myself available 😉, I'm 30 min from t dunes.
How common is a blown belt on the higher hp machines. I have a 2011 rzr 800s with light boost turbo (10psi) and have not blown a belt ever. I want new machine for better suspension and power but not if blown belts are a common issue
I have heard lots of people talk about Arctic cat and how bad they are and you as well, could we get a video of what are the reasons it is so bad. I have been around all the machines and looks like they all have there problems thanks guys great videos
The Cat absolutely has its strong points, so I don't think we'd ever post a video trashing it. That being said, the ratio of miles traveled to problems incurred for the Cats have been very poor compared to the other machines. They have work to do in the durability department.
I don't get along well with 105+ temperatures, so by the time we finally stopped at a good spot the only thing I was interested in sending was myself back to the air conditioning.... lol, sorry guys, next time
Next yxz mod, air conditioning lol I can imagine how much the heat there took its toll on you guys for as long as you ripped around there at slower speeds
God damn you YoutTube. How tf you gonna pop this video up on my timeline from 2 years ago, one day after the boys arrive at Camp Rzr 2019? Damn you straight to hell.
We wish we were back there right now brotha. Editing these videos is honestly really tough. I think we had a hard time really sitting back and enjoying ourselves during the Glamis leg of the trip. But we're infinitely more knowledgeable about the dunes now and we're dying to go back...
The actual road you used to tow the broken belt car back is not ok to drive off road vehicles on. Helmets are required at all times, even when pulling the rig off the trailer. Obviously you were able to do some of those things because you were there off season, during season both of those things would be large fines. During season there are dozens of rangers and Sheriffs. While there is no one there to enforce the rules off season it would be a big deal during season. During season there would be lots of guys willing to help new guys out and show them the ropes. Hopefully you guys can make it back during season and get to really experience the full Glamis experience. Any major Winter Holiday would be worth going. Thanks for sharing the video, I enjoyed it even though the first few minutes getting stuck was a little painful to watch. lol
you guys are too hard on yourselves . Running the dunes in the middle of the day when the sun is straight up is pretty hard for anyone. Shadows really help you judge and negotiate a lot easier. And yes there are plenty of high speed areas where you can haul ass and carve. Like you said , go with someone that has been there and your experience will be totally different.
I'll add Dubai to the legal list, the sand dunes there are just awesome, and everywhere you look. I was there before the sxs craze hit, but the things they were doing with jeeps and land cruisers was truly insane. Fun place!
its interesting coming back in time and watching yall before you knew what you were doing in real dunes.
I'm watching back some classics here it's crazy how far you guys have come since this!
my first trip to Glamis in the year 2000 was with my brand new DS 650, it was epic! my second trip to Glamis 3 years later was with my DS 650 with a CBR 1000 motor. that's what Glamis will do to you.. couldn't ride the quad really anywhere else but 5 times at Glamis was well worth the transformation. it's been 8 years since I've been out there and after watching this video I realize I need to go back soon, I'm feeling the pull back towards the West.

Thanks for being a loyal viewer Pete!!

Glamis will definitely separate the men from the boys.
What’s the difference from men and boys
Joshua Rangel men are older. boys are younger
Men have egos
@@joshuarangel8600 the budget
Been heading down sand highway to China Wall for decades and decades and we still blow by the turnoff. Everyone misses it sooner or later. Bright sun is somewhat snow blinding and ya miss the simplest of landmarks.
Ya go back and say "WTF, how'd we miss that?"
Theirs those that miss it and those that won't admit they missed it.
Dive Bar Casanova
She’s always shifting and changing. Thats one of the many beautiful things about Glamis.
You guys are great, and another great video. Glamis is defiantly a winter destination gotta hit it up in December or January. Thanks for the great entertainment that you guys provide and keep those videos rolling. Can't wait to see Moab it is my all time favorite ride spot.
Yeah man we are definitely going to go back during the "prime" months.
We're out there a lot. You guys definitely gotta meet up with us or some people who know what they are doing. You will be pinned in 4th for a lot of it. Damn! Trip of a lifetime! Can't wait to see the Moab stuff. Just discovered you guys on RUclips and have been binge-watching. You guys got it right.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it man! We got more coming soon. These videos are just insanely time consuming to make.
that fired up sxs blog at the end was kick ass bud. can't wait for the next episode
Thanks! I meant to put it in the intro but I forgot about it!
great job on the editing. not to many 30 min youtube videos ill watch every bit of. thanks for sharing.
Nah man we're going to stay away from that. I think we will soon start to do some "brought to you by" type stuff but that's it.
we would understand the ads help out and feed your guy's trips and videos which is great!l. but yeah can't wait for more videos of the trip to come out !
For a cheap sport it's expensive. Grab every dime you can.
Thumbs up - excellent video.
You guys need to come to St Anthony Idaho. Taller dunes by a long shot but smaller area. Not as hot and ride through the summer. You won't regret it if you like big bowls to ride
The drone footage is always so steady and smooth. Nice footage!

Glamis is a badass place to go, but when you go with some one ho knows the terrain it becomes a cool roller coaster ride. nice vid guys
jose flores
When you catch a groove its like surfing waves. All you need is one good leader and it changes the entire experience.
awesome video boys!
a little "Doug Knowledge" goes a long way!
Usually Halloween is the kick-off to Glamis season and when going up a dune you don't stop until your cresting the top, but at the same time don't fly over the top because it might not be what you expect on the other side.

Clear WICKED ending! Can't wait for the next vid!

And the fire at the end might just be my lock screen on my phone now! Lol
HELL YA
Great video. You guys are funny. We go to Glamis all the time. Very brave to be there in May by yourself.
There are a LOT of places you could run "4th gear wide open", just like the videos. You just didn't get to them. Behind Olds hill for example. The ISDRA is AWESOME, if you know where to go and what you're doing. Kudos for braving it without experienced duners with you!
devastator39 I run the dunes clicking 4th easy on my banshee. my rail I'm in 2nd 3rd open some times 4th.
Great vids guys, Looks like you had a blast.
He guys, really enjoyed the videos! Need to take a trip up to Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Not as big as Glamis but still very fun! Cheers!
Two trips to Glamis five to Pismo and one to Dumont. I think my Grey Tank on my Toy hauler has permanent sand in the bottom of it from showering! Yup, sand EVERYWHERE!!!
give me a buzz when you want to go back. I would love to meet you guys out there and show you around.
We're trying to plan something ASAP!
SXSBlog.com yeah let me know also I'll show you guys around. And if you want a crazy blog come on a holiday weekend just warning it gets crazy and cops lol.
Do you guys ever look at the old vlogs like this one an think wow we come a long way
Can't wait for the moab footage, even though I was just there, I want to see it from sxsblogs perspective.
Yeah we got our bearings for those rides so they are pretty cool! You will enjoy it!
Loved the video, but I wish you had some more drone footage. I've got to get out to Glamis for a ride! Also, I just bought some swag. Thanks, guys!
Hey Ben! Thanks for the comment. Looking back I wish I did a lot of things differently. When we go again it will be drone lyfe.
I always love your guys videos
You'll find some nice big bowls by the Osborne lookout. And next time camp on the Gecko campground side and there is a lot of fun and fast riding south of the Gecko campground loops.
Hahaha Doug is right. You have to know what you are doing and never after April winter months Halloween kicks off our season.
Back in the old days I would the cat on the podium at the rally raid. And it was stock too.
I grew up riding on the dunes. You went the wrong time of year. And running to much air pressure about 3.5 psi is the best.
Haha yeah Specer we definitely were at the tail end of the season. That's all we could do!
If you guys ever make it back out it would be really cool to dune with you guys. I look forward to more of your guys videos.
i know the vid is a little older but i am just getting around to watching it. what brand of goggles is nick if im not mistaken wearing at 14:39? and do they work good? im constantly on the look out for a good pair to use on some of the dusty M.N. trails.

Hahahah man freakin amateur hour!
Not at all, I would have gotten back to camp and then noticed the bag missing!
You guys are crazy lol. This glamis off season cuz of the heat. You guys should come down for Halloween. Its pretty much opening day and it gets jam pack.
Hahah yeah man it was stupid hot. Probably 110-120F.
The elevator music with the drone footage was so relaxing I wanted to take a nap.
Sometimes you just gotta kick back and relax bro.
Correction:
We found the Polaris belts last longer than the Gates but the Gates are an easier clean up when they grenade.
Just scatter it bud! hahaha
great job once again!
I've got to say they did really good for it being there first time they need to work on the razor backs you can't go straight over them you have to transfer from one side to the other but other than that awesome video
I foresee an x3 and a cat xx in the future for this crew🤗
gotta do glamis again guys, and definitely bring someone who knows t area... china wall is insane, u missed out. hit me up, i have plenty of sick leave to make myself available 😉, I'm 30 min from t dunes.
We'll be back.
damn guys that ending is sweet. so you can ride around with out a clutch cover on?
The cat jumps really good I think it lands the best out of all them
great video guys
i gotta ask... where the heck is the mav x3
Cool Vid :) " making the cat great again "!!!
Need to come to sand mountain Utah.
CUMMINISDEZEL Rick your still an amateur you drive like a girl sxs blog
Just went to Glamis for Thanksgiving and it is a different world. I think its hard to drive out there. Especially in the smaller dunes area.
How common is a blown belt on the higher hp machines. I have a 2011 rzr 800s with light boost turbo (10psi) and have not blown a belt ever. I want new machine for better suspension and power but not if blown belts are a common issue
the dunes are no joke!braaapppp!
Did you went in June 2017? I want to go now but I'm afraid it will be too hot. I live in Phoenix and is hot over here.
Early May 2017. It would be crazy hot right now... Our advice would be to wait
10-4 man thanks for the reply it's nice to see you guys still running one and beating on it
Do you guys have some kind of helmet to helmet communications system?
Brian actually bought us 3 Sena bluetooth headsets. But we didn't wear helmets in the 100+ degree weather so we never used them. Thanks Brian!
Why did the yxzs not send it? Am so sad they didn't get to play in fedex fun
I agree, need some yxz representation!!! :)
I don't get along well with 105+ temperatures, so by the time we finally stopped at a good spot the only thing I was interested in sending was myself back to the air conditioning.... lol, sorry guys, next time
Totally understand, those 100+ degree days can really wear you out! #letteresesendit
Haha, just a little more seat time before that starts happening. Not long though...
Next yxz mod, air conditioning lol I can imagine how much the heat there took its toll on you guys for as long as you ripped around there at slower speeds
Why does Doug hate the Rockabilly tires so bad?
Go to oceano dunes if you come to california again
If you want baby dunes, in comparison to Glamis...
cool just had to see if you did..
they should have them there at the store where you guys are at..
We brought plenty of spare belts, they just didn't have them in the actual machines when we left camp.
Can't take those razorbacks straight on bud, ya get stuck! Lol
Real amateurs lol
A little late in the season to be out there at 106 degrees
"lets freakin do her bud" Nick
In my best Manitoba accent lol
The big bowls are over by Osborne overlook
God damn you YoutTube. How tf you gonna pop this video up on my timeline from 2 years ago, one day after the boys arrive at Camp Rzr 2019? Damn you straight to hell.
If you think todays of glamis is fun go out there for 3 weeks me and my family do that for chrismas
I'm literally two second into the video and what do I see? A broke down pussycat.
Thanksgiving weekend wtf!!!
It was May, editing takes time lol
You run with no clutch cover in the sand?
Yeah, lotta guys do that with success. There's so much air moving in there the sand doesn't really get in the clutches, so they just run cooler.
I wanna se Doug send his Yamaha. The yxz needs to fly
Just keep watching!
good job guys!
Dougie’s YXZ should do the best in the deep stuff.
the two seater is easy on the belts.
Brian drives like a psycho... lol
I guess Leo hasn’t heard the “black cats are bad luck” folktale.
l wish l was there with you guys right now.
We wish we were back there right now brotha. Editing these videos is honestly really tough. I think we had a hard time really sitting back and enjoying ourselves during the Glamis leg of the trip. But we're infinitely more knowledgeable about the dunes now and we're dying to go back...
I don’t do it meaning litter cans. But it’s to avoid the dui fuzzy pimp vid
That outro though....bro!
Big Dollar fine for driving on Wash Road, Noobs need to read and ask questions!
So we can't drive in the sand?
Thanks for sharing the video, I enjoyed it even though the first few minutes getting stuck was a little painful to watch. lol
SXSBlog.com you can drive in the sand just not drive on the washes where the cars tow their trailers or just regular cars pass by
You guys got cheated at Glamis! Doug’s 4th gear bowls are every where! Don’t fight the dunes ride them.
The best ending
And now I look at every comment saying the same thing I just did lol
you guys are too hard on yourselves .
Uh yeah we do recycle aluminum
Way too much air in those tires!
Which unit? No one was running over 10psi if I recall...
#yxznobeltlife
Enjoy the soft sand while you can. After Friday its gonna get choppy as F.
Teeth rattlers...
Ur not aloud to ride on that main wash rd they will pull you over
Im leaving late tonight. Tried to rent a SxS but too much money. So My 46 year old ass will be on a YZ450F
#GlamisOn
✌🏻👀✌🏻
The vidoes are way better without the music
So much fun is probably illegal everywhere except the USA.
I'll add Dubai to the legal list, the sand dunes there are just awesome, and everywhere you look. I was there before the sxs craze hit, but the things they were doing with jeeps and land cruisers was truly insane. Fun place!
SXSBlog Ultimate Adventure 2018
