  • This conference presentation made in 2000 describes the Web Based Asynchronous Virtual Conference (WebConference), its advantages and disadvantages as compared to a traditional synchronous conference. The paper also treats the development of the WebConference as a Case Study, discusses the prototyping experiments using the world as a laboratory and provides several lessons about the requirements and systems engineering processes.
The project presented is an example of agile systems engineering in 1999-2000 and introduces some innovative ideas about requirements, including just-in-time lower lever requirements instead of writing them early in the system development process.
Unfortunately the audio quality has deteriorated in pat of the presentation. However, if there is enough interest, I may re-record the audio.
This is one of the seven supporting presentations for Improving E-learning with systems thinking: anecdotes and lessons learned, can be found as shown below. A hyperlink on the title opens the conference paper.
