It was a close game until the end, so he would definitely had a greater fighting chance if he wasn't pinned down. However if he lose that 3rd nexus it would have been an loss because he wouldn't be able to economically recover in time to fight off Reynor's next wave.
I reckon it was only a matter of time. Reynor was the only guy keeping up with Serral a year or 2 ago, and then was only being held back by how young he was as a player ... Now we're going to see a zerg that scared the SC II scene as much as Serral did.
@@timmcc6899 Not really, actually Serral dominance was a lot more "respected" back then. Reynor was phenomenal in this IEM and fully deserve to win it, but hes not "scaring" any other SC2 the way Serral did in 2018. In some of the series, Reynor could have lost to Dark or Maru, and PvZ meta will change again to Reynor build. The meta in this game has gotten really stale. Every game is the terran or protoss player having to come up with surprise builds to apply consistent pressure because unless the zerg economy takes constant damage zerg just autowins due to their broken macro. Terran and protoss have to keep winning engagements throughout the game, zerg only needs to win once.
The whining has gotten stale. The meta has kept changing for zerg because they keep nerfing zerg, because whiny lil turds would rather demand the rules be changed, rather than learn to get better. You see it especially in the Maru vs Reynor match. Reynor won that because as the series progressed he learned to play away from the meta and got better because of it, these guys lost because they didn't. Same happened in the first game of Zest vs Reynor ... Reynor tried to play to the meta and lost because Zest didn't play to the meta. Shouting that there is something wrong with the meta doesn't make you sound smart or valid. Grow a pair and learn to get good, rather than whining about how the world needs to accomodate your personal tastes.
@@timmcc6899 I haven't played SC2 in years and have no interest in going back to it, so you're barking up the wrong tree with your "git gud" ranting. I still enjoy watching the game from time to time, even when zerg are playing, because the pros are amazing, but you'd have to be blind not to see that in its current state the game is heavily skewed in zerg's favor. Just listen to the commentators in literally every game in the last 3 years: it's always "the terran player needs to do more economic damage to the zerg" or "has protoss done enough damage to stop zerg from taking over the map?" or "if zerg reach late game they'll be unstoppable." The onus is ALWAYS on the non-zerg player to outplay his opponent, otherwise he's practically guaranteed to lose. Zerg can just sit there and expand and max out, because he knows he can outmine and outproduce his opponent at every stage of the game. Look at the entire series in this video: Raynor always had more army than Zest, whether he was on equal bases or more.

You don't get to argue the other races need to do it, when zerg are doing the same thing. The only difference is that zerg have to go through the front door to do it, because zerg transports are inefficient compared to the likes of medivacs (that can also heal) and warp prisms (that can also produce more units on the spot). As for zerg late game, go see the interview with Reynor after he won against Maru. He's scared of late game, and tries to beat his opponents in the early-to-midgame to avoid having to take on the likes of late game terran and protoss. @@tiel604 sure imma level with you homie. TLDR: those people have been at the top even when other races are considered OP. It's not their fault that they're skilled as hell. soO (2019) always reaches the playoffs for YEARS (even during the Golden Armada and Battle Mech era) and it's only a matter of time until he gets the gold. Rogue (2018 and 2020) was the world champion during the time when Golden Armada was OP as fuck. Mass rushed carriers, unkillable early third unless you go for hydra ling bling timing (which was figured out by P anyway and prompted blizz to nerf carriers). He invented the way to destroy skytoss (which Serral perfected). Reynor was always a prodigy. Back when he was 14, he was the one of the two foreigners who can fight against Koreans (the other being Scarlett). Now let's talk about race representation shall we? 2021 - 13 P, 13 T, 10 Z 2020 - 34 P, 20 T, 22 Z 2019 - 8 P, 7 T, 9 Z 2018 - 8 P, 8 T, 8 Z There is a healthy representation for each race (favors P a bit) and you cry that zerg is OP? You are discrediting the skills that these pro players are showing. None of the zerg wins in Katowice showed easy wins, everything is struggle just how it should be. Reynor had to fight 3-2 against top players of their respective races to claim the gold. Rogue had to invent a new strategy to beat the golden armada, soO clawed his way to the top and was the most emotional Katowice champion to date. GG Reynor
Protoss just amoves carriers and wins 😂🤡 “requires micro”
Zest's protoss is meh. Too much reliance on gateway and early units. Not really transitioning to late game units like disruptors and tempests. Tempests and an oracle tag could have won game 2 with those mass lukers op units.
He basically threw the games by never transitioning.
It's funny that you call something OP and give an easy way as an example to counter it in the same sentence
Oh look zerg won, why am i not surprised
Probably cause the top2 zergs happen to be the best players, and the top3-4 zergs sometimes happen to just perform well.
Oh wow why am i not surprised
Oh look another ignorant whiner, why am I not surprised
@@fotojenic8198 "best players -" lmao
@@dantes4729 By far. Just look at aligulac.
Kinda getting boring how OP zergs are :-(
Have you seen the game with reynor vs maru? How is that op?
@@emlen5847 yeah and the fact that there are fewer zergs in the playoffs than T and P.
ignore this guy, he's not a legit fan. he's just riding on reddit and forum bandwagon lol.
@@shapowlow sure! One just needs to take a look at IEM winners last years to prove you 100% right!!
2021: Zerg
2020: Zerg
2019: Zerg
2018: Zerg
oh, wait
2021 - 13 P, 13 T, 10 Z
2020 - 34 P, 20 T, 22 Z
2019 - 8 P, 7 T, 9 Z
2018 - 8 P, 8 T, 8 Z
There is a healthy representation for each race (favors P a bit) and you cry that zerg is OP? You are discrediting the skills that these pro players are showing. None of the zerg wins in Katowice showed easy wins, everything is struggle just how it should be. Reynor had to fight 3-2 against top players of their respective races to claim the gold. Rogue had to invent a new strategy to beat the golden armada, soO clawed his way to the top and was the most emotional Katowice champion to date.
But sure, go ahead with your sarcastic, uninformed opinions and feel dominant. Good luck
@@shapowlow or ur just a salty zer main following the downplay bandwagon
Zest will always be the second in the best case :))
