I like Randy Skeete a lot, however his understanding of God is killng and killing is not God's character. The Gospel is good news, lt is about life and not death.
By putting to sleep those who persistently disobey, is God's grace, to preserve the life of those who consistently obey in His power. It's one's personal free choice... life or death. God only honors the choice of the disobedient ones by executing His strange work of putting them out of misery.
That seems like a subjective statement because Randy Skeete has preached many sermons and to say "God is killing" was the theme of these sermons would be untrue, but once you're preaching on "the law", then if sin is its transgression, and the wages of sin is death, then life and death must be central. For the law was given to life, but it will be to death for lawlessness. For the apostle Paul said, "The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law" (1 Cor 15:26). You said, "The Gospel is good news, lt is about life and not death" but what would those who reject the "good news" of "life" receive? Not "death" and condemnation?? C'mon, the good news has to be about life and death, for the Lord declared in Deut 30: 15-18
"15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
The Lord has sent us as witnesses of this truth to warn the world of what is to come!!
