This Video is the 2nd Episode of my Sri Lanka Vlog Series, where I will be visiting Lake Dambulla and Sigiriya Lion Rock.
Sigiriya Lion Rock is a Unesco World Heritage site and according to Mythology, this rock was once a fort of King Ravana.
So let's travel to the past with this episode. Please give your views about this video in the comments section.
Sri Lanka is an amazing tourist destination. According to Lonely Planet Sri Lanka ranks Number 1 spot in the top 10 destinations to visit for the Year 2019. And they have every reason to be on top, as the place is amazing, people are nicest, the weather is superb, food is mouthwatering, culture is rich, wildlife is outrageous, beaches are serene.
But after recent terrorist bombings, this country is still struggling to get back to its momentum. They need our support right now. And the least we can do is to travel to this beautiful Pearl in the Indian Ocean.
With this Vlog series, I am trying to show the beauty of this neighboring country which is just a stone's throw away and is in the budget of every backpacker from India. If my series motivates even one person to travel to this country, I will take that as a success of my effort.
I am very new to making videos and Sri Lanka Series is my first travel vlog series, so I am still learning, so please help me grow this channel by giving your feedback and suggestions. Please also like, subscribe and share if you like my work and this video.

great video .. some say its king Kashyap's palace. some say Ravana was a mythical figure Ramayana is not a myth is past history of ancient India & Sri Lanka too.. Rama's bridge is still visible..this was later renovated by King Kashyap earlier it was Ravana's palace..
According to history this was modified as fortress by king Kasiyappa for escaping from his brother after Kasiyappa killed his father king Dadusena. I hope this was a nice trip to you. Rasmy from Sri Lanka

This is not the ravan kingdom .this is a great fortress . A world heritage site nominated by unesco .it was built by king kashyapa . This belongs to the kingdom of anuradhapaura .(5th century AD)

This has to be entered through lions mouth
There is a Great histry .to this day no one has been able to find the water and garden technology here

NEW DELHI: Did Ram exist? It's a question that has pitted historians against believers time and again. While historians cite lack of evidence to say Ram was a mythical personality, those who believe otherwise claim that significant evidence exists to confirm that Ram existed in flesh and blood. So, where does the truth lie?
According to R P Tripathi, professor of ancient history at Allahabad University, "History requires concrete evidence in the form of coins, inscriptions, etc to prove the existence of a character. Even if we take into account places mentioned in the Ramayana like Chitrakoot, Ayodhya, which still exist, the fact is that Ramayana is not a historical text. So, from that perspective, there is no historical evidence available of Ram. Having said that, we still cannot negate Ram's presence easily, since he has been a part of our collective consciousness for a long time."
"In fact, it is precisely because of this, that we cannot look at Ram objectively, since he has made the transition from being simply a character in an epic to a religious figure," says S Settar, former chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research. "In mythology, there are many characters who have been similarly mentioned. Does that mean that they all existed?" he asks. So, are all mythical texts just that - only myth? Or, is there, somewhere, a grain of truth in them?" Myths have to be carefully interpreted to find that grain of truth. In Ramayana's case, there is no evidence to prove that it is anything else except a myth. There is also no evidence - either historical or archaeological - which proves that Ram ever existed or that he ruled Ayodhya," claims Settar.
However, there are some who beg to differ. "If archaeology cannot prove whether a temple existed at Ayodhya or a mosque just 500 years ago, what help can it render in establishing historical events more than 7,000 years ago?" asks Pushkar Bhatanagar, author of the book, Dating The Era Of Lord Ram. "If the masons of those times failed to construct buildings which could survive seven millennia, an inference should not be drawn that the country had no inhabitants at that time or that Ram is a myth," he adds.
However, history requires substantial evidence that can satisfy all academics, says R S Bisht, former Jt DG of the ASI. "Historical evidence has been found about such personalities as Ashoka, who left behind edicts. Unless similar evidence is found about personalities like Ram, it will be difficult to prove their existence," he says.
Will such evidence ever be found, considering that the cities of that time have been built several times over? Nobody knows. For the time being, however, Ram remains a myth, at least in the eyes of history.

The mythical Ramayana doesn't have any links with this place, the sigiriya rock was discovered by king kashyapa to build a fortress to defend him from enemy forces. Please don't distort srilankan history.
