Had mine 2 years plus & still going strong ! Put a cable tie over the handle to save holding the button down, no big deal.

I bought one of these and absolutely loved it until it just stopped inflating, its hardly been used. Makita is not what it used to be.

  • @dunnjun

Just got mine. The box looked like it had been to Ukraine. No directions, and when I try to inflate a tire, it keeps shutting off and showing +/- 64 lbs. . Finally, after reseating the air connector multiple times, I got an air pressure reading that was believable. After I hit the desired air pressure on the Makitas' gauge I double checked it with my longacre autox air gauge. 3 lbs under. I was hoping this was the perfect autox air compressor. The search continues.

For bigger tyres, there is bigger model (DMP181Z) available with about double output. The smaller one is handy with bicycles, wheelbarrows etc... just select the right one to your needs.

Bonus tip for those in an area with road salt: if you have never dropped your spare tire before- drop your spare, check the pressure and BEFORE you lift it again, fluid film the HELL out of the wheel, mechanism and underside of the truck bed.

Ha You’re not happy with it but I have a bunch of Makita tools already and just scored one of these inflators at tractor supply for 35 bucks on clearance I’m sure I’ll get my 35 bucks out out of it

The NEW updated 18v and NEW 40v are WAY better …. They are bigger and pump much faster than this model 😉

I have one and I've never had a problem with that you're supposed to hold those things as level as possible when you're performing your test

I got one of these last year. I already had a bunch of other Makita 18v, in use it for car tires, motorcycle tires, bicycle tires, balls, etc. so far I have not had any problems with it.

It is a pretty good inflator for it's size, you can just throw it anywhere in the car. Feels like Makita quality all the way. Providing you have some Makita 18v batteries - it is not so expensive either. The biggest drawback is that you have to always press the trigger (solvable with some kind of a tie). There are newer models (18v and 40v), much bigger and heavier - but have twice the power and the speed of that.

I love this tool. But the trigger is kinda bunk though. A zip tie fixed that since it shuts off automatically
