For 19 years Dearly Beloved has been the title screen music for KH, the instrumentation changes a bit every time, and while it's always a happy tune, it is distinctly *not energetic*, then this comes along, and flips that completely on it's head. I can't believe that after a decade of playing these games, Yoko can still make new versions of this track that hit me in the feelings. Love this track!
I think this may be since Kairi is a different character than Sora? Idk, I haven't played the games yet but I hear the lore is that Kairi is surfing through her memories so this being a different Dearly Beloved would kinda make sense?

I love how, with the progression of the story, Dearly Beloved gets more and more positive and energetic. The first versions felt really nostalgic and kinda sad, while the new ones are still nostalgic because they take me back to happier times when I was a little kid playing the first game, but are also able to put a smile on my face. Yoko Shimomura never fails to amaze me.
(Tbh, I really loved the KHUx version but I'm scared to admit because apparently it's one of the most hated one ???)

For reasons I can't explain, this Dearly Beloved did the same thing to me as KH3's version did. It sent me on a trip down memory lane. However, this time without the tears, but all of the grooving.

The "Throne" simbolism is starting to get a way more used than I expected
But, if we assume that this is the same throne as Sora's with just some minor design differences, than the idea is that Sora's now gone, the throne's empty, and Kairi is sitting in it as a way to cope with Sora's loss, staying there and remembering the good momments they had
If that's a different throne, than it becomes more simple, it could be kinda of a "queen's throne" or something, Idk
Dude for real though, I also thought that the throne looked similar to the one Sora sits on, and maybe since Kairi is princess of heart, she could be queen this time.
Sora's is a darker redish and has a different outline then Kairi. Its supposed to symbolize King and queen.

Kairi is sleeping in the picture because the plot of the game is her being asleep while they try to use her connection to Sora's memory to locate him.
Sora is wearing a king crown in his picture with his chair, Kairi is in a different chair but with no crown. Usually a King and Queen would have two thrones next to each other, and Sora and Kairi's are similar, thus I'd say that's the symbolism.

This sounds like the credits scene where they show all the characters finally be able to move forward in their life at the end of the series, it shows that after all the hardships they went through, they can finally obtain the bright future blinded with light that awaits them.

Literally cried happy tears hearing this. Nobody in my life could share this experience with me, it's reliant on the emotional weight of Kingdom Hearts and Dearly Beloved rooted in my childhood, coupled with the love I have for big band music. Full body chills through the whole piece, what an incredible feeling.

I year late to the comment but, AS. a long time KH fan, yeah we got kinda gimped on music choices, not to say what we got was bad per se, but a few KH1 battle and boss tunes doesn't really portray the series in it's best light, pun intended. And that's where mods come in baby!
It's beautiful. Oddly enough it reminds me of old diner music. Like something you'd dress up nice and go dance to. This version hits the heart in a whole new way.

Reminds me of when Shoji Meguro made those Reincarnation Soundtracks for Persona 3 and 4. They always made Jazzy versions of the soundtracks as that was always his fallback until Persona 5.

Though I imagine most people noticed, I find it cute that the three Sora pictures are him smiling at Kairi from the end of the numbered KH games. One up top is KH1 when the End of the World is collapsing. The one to the left of the chair is the end of KH2 when Riku and Sora get back to destiny islands. The one in the bottom right is the end of KH3 and them sitting on the tree (technically that one could be right before the final battle, but it being right before the Thanos snap makes more sense to me)

I had "You'll be Back" stuck in my head this morning until I listened to this.
I can picture Sora and Kairi dancing at a local bar in the 60s outfits to this.
I've seen the fan base grow more and more toxic over the years. So many different complaints about not being what they want or being too complicated. But the one thing I've NEVER seen a complaint about is the music. Yoko Shimomura is the one thing we can all agree on and now we're getting a game dedicated to her work. Totally worth the full price for me! 👌👌

There’s something about this one stupid opening theme that honestly strikes me at my soul, one of my earliest memories, and I mean earliest and it was the very first thing I remember myself being pretty much enchanted by was this song when my dad booted up Kingdom Hearts to try it out. I remember this and the Destiny Island theme perfectly. It was beautiful. And it’s something that just always brings me back to those very first and few moments I can remember from all the way back then. It just clicks in my brain
