    Looks good. I also have a Colorado pontoon but I use flippers. Flippers really help so you don’t float away while fishing.

      I’m not that brave. We have some massive alligators in our local lakes down this way so I’ll keep using the trolling motor and anchor.

    Ya.. that's pretty freaking slick.. I've been thinking about ways to make this same set up.. except I have mine with the trolling motor up front.
    Have you tried doing any streams or Rivers with that raised seat, noticed much of a difference in stability?

    The best floor setup I’ve seen so far!! Great idea. Do you use a fish finder? If so, how do you setup the transducer?

    • @PatrickAviator
      @PatrickAviator  5 лет назад +1

      Hi I haven’t used a fish finder on this boat yet but that’s in the works. I actually had a few trolling motor issues (one burnt out) the replacement for it was damaged in shipping as soon as I grab another one I’ll likely be installing a transducer on it somehow! I’ll be sure to post that video as well.

    • @jkingTNARNG10

      Why not just use one of the bobber fish finders. Attatched it to some line and blue tooth it to your phone. And just keep an eye on your phone. Keep a solar panel with you for charging

    How did you figure out where to do the cutouts for the stencil/platform? Also would it be the same size for the Colorado (non XT) model?

    • @PatrickAviator
      @PatrickAviator  2 года назад +1

      I just got some boxes and mashed them into place. Should be pretty similar for its deck but yeah just mash it into place mark your sides with a marker trim and try it again see what fits

  • @davemacgyver573

    The pvc bowed down quite a bit when you stepped on it. I would not be comfortable standing on it. Without those joints glued, if it were me I would add an oak dowel rod inside the pvc or 1/2 galvanized pipe to beef it all up. What if you're standing there ready to cast and it pops apart? What if in the process of falling you bust your head on those metal pipes. Or a fish hook swinging around as you're falling catches you in the eye. It would be so much safer to glue those joints and add a dowel inside the pvc to beef it all up. IMHO

    • @PatrickAviator
      @PatrickAviator  6 месяцев назад

      No need to add just glue the joints. I still haven’t glued them it’s been years and no issues

    By chance have you weighed the 1/2 table unit? I've been looking for a lightweight solution for my boat. I've been looking for composite honeycomb panels like those used in aircraft floors. Some of that stuff is very light weight, yet uber strong. I've built a PVC support structure & front motor mount for mine.

      I appreciate it man! You gave me so many good ideas. I just bought one on a resale site and plan on doing some of the same things you have done. I haven't put it together yet but I noticed on the box the picture didn't look like it has a trolling motor mount. Sure it wouldn't be too hard to make one. I've had an older small trolling motor sitting in my garage for years that would be perfect.

    I see these modifications all the time, and they look good on video. But I have yet to see anyone of you that have made these videos actually show a video of yourself standing in fishing from the sitting position to the standing position. Not a single damn video on RUclips shows this. So what good is all these modifications if you cannot show that they actually work.
