- What is Bluetooth LE? LE stands for "Low Energy" and will feature a new codec called LC3 which stands for "Low Complexity Communications Codec." The newer Bluetooth technology will make the current codec, SBC (Sub Band Codec) obsolete with its multi-source, multi-device and energy saving features. I'll explain all of these features, plus cool ways we'll all benefit from this new Bluetooth experience, including it's impact on hearing aids. will lc3 be able to (on hearing aids) be able to play audio (switching between playing on multiple devices)?
will LC3 be available under "audio codec" in dev options on android whenever it comes to every headset/hearing aids?
does lc3 support all audio codecs?
They already have Bluetooth hearing aids that connect to, for example, a Samsung TV with built in Bluetooth built in and while the watching TV can also take a phone call.
Do you have to buy new devices to get advantage of lc3?
Your device needs to support Bluetooth 5.2 and I had to unlock developer options to enable it and hd audio

@@FromMeToYou77 What kind of device do you have?? I think it depends on type of device & model. Some headphones might be getting a firmware update to support LC3. Like some android phones might get an OS update to support LC3, but it needs to have hardware that could support LC3. Personally I do not plan on buying anything new until the manufacturer says that it supports LC3.
You also need to remember that the source & headphones or whatever need to BOTH support LC3.

id like to know about what it will do for hands free uses for example using skype or video calls i was kinda confused by what you said and the video title. right now when i use my air pods to do video chat it sounds horrible worse then a 10 dollar microphone
When you are using those air pods make sure you are using "hands-free AG audio" instead of the "Stereo" version (that is what I see on Windows10). The Stereo version is great for listening to music, but it is absolutely terrible when you are doing a two way call.

I just updated my phone to android 13, it's an s21 and I have new Sony wf 1000mx4 buds. Will these use the codec?
Has Sony said that their: WF 1000mx4 will support LC3 ?? I would double check that you have applied all firmware updates to your ear buds. It seems like Sony prefers to go with their HD codec called LDAC. (Sony Developed that codec).
