Im tired of ppl always comparing sohyang with other artists who can hit similar high notes or even better. This here is true artist becuz she has the ability to convey theblyrics of the songs to the audience. U dont even have to know the language to be able to feel that. That middle of the song super long run is just soooo sooo sad especially with that backdrop of the sakura tree leaves falling like someone just passed and her voice just does the same. If u understand that, u cant help it but cry
Lee Sun Hee composed the song for her late husband who had committed Suicide it is also an OST for the Korean Movie The King and The Clown ... Sun Hee is without question one of Korea's most respected and we'll loved Singer/Artist wlth ... her career spanning several decades she still remains active with Music Shows such as Fantastic Duo also Albums and concerts ... heres a link to her Bio on Wikipedia en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Sun-hee_(singer)
"How does she do it like that?" Amen, brother! Preach! She threw down! She takes me places with her voice that I have only dreamed of before now! You go, girl! Put me on the cutting onions list!
TraENT, thank you for your reaction to Sohyang 'Fate'. And I have one thing to tell you. Those are not Chinese. Both are Korean traditional instuments. 1. 가야금 (Gayageum) : a 12-string instrument of which the strings are picked with fingers. 2.해금 (Haegeum) : a vertical bowed string instrument with two silk strings.
Not true. As you look closely, this instrument has way more than 12 strings. This instrument is Gu Zheng which has 30 strings. As for the vertical instrument, I think it is Er Hu. Also a Chinese musical instrument although it might be Haegeum too. Not too familiar with them.
@@xeoemploymentservices567 If you do not know, do not say it as you know it. This song is Korean traditional melody and rhythm. In the modern era, the improved gayageum was also created. Originally this song itself was played with Korean traditional instruments. The original singer of this song later arranged this song using Chinese traditional instruments for a while to sell this album to China. But originally this song was played with Korean traditional instruments.
@@hellowow8662 I don't understand you. You can clearly see the instruments used and it is clearly 30 strings and not 12 strings (unless I do not know how to count). My daughter played the Guzheng in her school for 4 years and I am sure she knows what it is. She was the one that pointed to me when I said that it is a Korean musical instruments that resemble the Guzheng. Have you played either of the instruments or know the instruments intimately?
Her voice in my opinion, is compared to a finely crafted, perfectly tuned instrument! Koreans are very emotional people by nature and whether it's happy or sad, they are very good at expressing it through their songs!
...I am gonna repeat myself..again and again when it comes to So Hyang, Dimash and others....but have to bow down to their awsome gift they have! She pierces my heart and emotion almost everytime! ...sigh ( of joy)
This is one of my favourite performances of hers. Absolutely haunting and unforgettable. I continue to love your reactions and commentary, please keep doing Sohyang as you have many amazing performances of hers to discover. Can't wait for you to get to get 'Mask Singer' performances from 2017, maybe her peak as a singer IMO.
Best female singer in the world...and so humble. Dedicates her talents to God and refuses to profit from it...thats what makes her great. Glad you recognize real talent bro...
Traent, in an hour long interview with Turkish music producer Emre Yucelen here on RUclips, So Hyang says that both she and her family were quite surprised to discover just how excellent her voice was. When she sits down to arrange a new song to cover, her entire in-law family and her musical friends and associates will join in with her and go over _everything_ with a fine tooth comb. They are apparently a family of very fine musicians, so when we hear a So Hyang song we are hearing the accumulated efforts of a good number of people. They know So Hyang's voice very well and know, pretty much exactly, what So Hyang can do with her voice. Are we not some of the most blessed people on this planet to be able to hear this God-gifted voice? 💖🎶🎸😉👏😎
Wow!! I really appreciate your sincere and detailed reaction. This performance shows both her beautiful & emotional voice and her phenomenal vocal technique, as is almost always the case with her. It may sound similar to Chinese music, but this is wholly traditional Korean music and the instruments are Korean ones.
Lee sun hee's song is really beautiful. Is a amazing singer , please check out " Dear J " and " Beautiful scenary" live perfomances. She sang in a concert in North korea for the peace with south korea
I love it when you pause the video TraENT, since I do the same thing when watching Sohyang performances. Some parts are just too good to only see once!
Fate is composed by Lee, Sun Hee. Lyrics by Lee, Sun Hee as well. Lee, Sun Hee had sung "Fate" herself. That is the same song. One of major instruments played in Fate is called"Gaya Gum" Gaya Gum came from the old dynasty of Ga Ya South edge of Korea- which my ancestors came from.
vimeo.com/220191647 One of So Hyang´s performances on The King of Mask Singer "BREATHE", apparently she was sick durign this performance but one could never tell...just beautiful
Time to get a taste of SoHyang's more playful side. Check out her more sultry, jazzy, torch song side in "I Always Miss You" ( vimeo.com/263705701 ) and get funky and flirty in the duet "Childish Adult" ( ruclips.net/video/ECHIiju-9SU/видео.html ). These two, especially compared to the performances of hers you've seen so far, shows how she really takes care in adapting her performance style and mannerisms to the piece (in addition to, of course, her vocal delivery)
This song was basiclly an ost from a korean movie called ‘The King and The Clown’ . Its actually a BL’s movie during the Joseon Era if Im not mistaken.

Let me apologize, wrong fate, this song is composed by a famous Korean artist, Lee Sun Hee who remastered the song for the Korean movie "King and the Clown, which was adapted from the 2000 stage play "Yi (You)." This is a little known fact that she has translated this song into English. I apologize, I get all history on all song I hear, for my teaching purposes, I want say thank you to the one that corrected me, even though I research, I can still be wrong. I'm sorry to all, do more research and less informing.

There are many instruments in Korea that is similar sounding but its called gayageum!!! Ok I guess a King of Korea had it made after looking at an old Chinese instrumenten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gayageum
Hey. Aren't you ashamed that you didn't even know her nationality while listening to her song? How can you say that you are Chinese even though there are subtitles in Korean? As a fan of incongruity, I feel really unpleasant. How annoying would Koreans be when I am British and I am annoyed by your rude behavior? And you're talking Chinese nonsense while showing MBC's copyrighted Korean program without permission.

This song was originally sung by Lee Sun Hee, another legend from south korea. The song was for a Korean movie called "King and Clown" from 2005.
Oh ok thanks! I love how So Hyang sings it!

OMG~~~~SoHyang is my goddess my QUEEN~ ㅠㅠ
