wow the lawn is looking great!!! also cute doggy and i need a sunny day like thisss XD
Best I've ever seen Kikuyu, for sure.
You haven’t seen mine
Man loving the edges 😍, and the lawn is looking mint..👌👌
Looking great Ben.
Boi, that looks mint.
and I love my pro-plugger
Looking awesome Ben😍 To get the leaves to stand up, try a drench spray of potassium silicate, 60ml per 100m2 and watch those leaf blades stand up. Should take effect in 24-48 hours. You’ll get an amazing cut 😉
Gosh, I thought it would be a little while longer before it starts to look mint, but pretty well already there!
Good to see some actual lawn tips coming back. 🎉
You mustn’t have been watching for the last 2 months
Here we go bois, the videos we've been waiting for ... time to go reel low :). Looking good my man.
Looking good Ben
Hey mate, could you do a vid on grooming vs verticutting? For kikuyu. Looking at the different attachments you can get for the SB45’s. Cheers
looks awesome 👍🏼
Looks amazing!!
Looks pretty dam good, hows your old mate from the road of the old house getting on with his kikuyu lawn?? And your brother in law over the road and your actual brother? Few update videos on coming soon??
That is mint mate and such work on a sub optimal grass type. Seems criminal to glysophate one day for rye after minting it !!
Up the Kuyu baby Wooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets gOOOOOOOOOOOO! get some Liquid Iron in there, making that green nice and deep like, Owww!! Looking good.
When you think the electric mower video will be out? Thanks another good vid!
Nice into 😂😂oh god this is Gonna be a good one 😍
Nice Ben Simms. 👌👌👌
Really interested to see what you do with grooming your Kikuyu. Mines coming on good but a bit flat - need the PGR.
Yo mate, what up?
Welcome back to another lawn tip vid 👍🏾
Ben you always take your lawns to epic levels, well done great job, I am really frustrated for the past few years, no matter what I do midway through Spring I end up with thatch, is it due to the rain or something I am doing wrong? Are you able to share some advice with me. Thanks
Hey Martin,
Sometimes high nitrogen ferts can contribute if you are using them. Otherwise it can honestly just be a climate thing. Would be worth scalping back 1-2 times a season extra after reno to help with thatch build up
@@LawnTips thanks Ben you’re an absolute legend mate!!!!
Early for a banger of a video
Hiya Ben, just seen the news saying west of Orange being smashed!! Hope you and yours are all high and dry!! Take care big man! 😳😜
Thanks mate, we are good here! A lot of rain though. A lot of people I know have been impacted though. Not good 😓
It’s never good, just count the little wins and help as many as ya can!! 👍🏻👍🏻
The measure of a great lawn is when a dog performs a back scratch on it, as shown here!😉
Hi Ben, love your work. Wondering how you keep your kikuyu green during winter in orange?
Liquid ferts was how I got away with it this year. Sometimes it’s impossible to avoid if we get a lot of frosts though
@@LawnTips awesome. Thanks Ben
Hey mate. Kikuyu looking unreal. Wanted to get your thoughts on two things - best treatment for funnel ants? And second - have some buffalo trying to grow through my couch. Best way to kill off the buffalo? Cheers man.
Lawn looks friggin awesome. 👍👍
I've got a 4 foot dia, 3 inch bunker in my front yard where the stump of an old gum tree has decomposed. It was removed by council 15 yrs ago and stump grind then turfed over.
Kikuyu also, what would you use to fill it back to level ?
Coastal NSW.
Wonder how the lawn from your last house is doing
I wondered how long before the tree came out.
Can you explain why you would groom it? I understood this was for doing a light vertimow
Mate do you ever have sparks fly when the edger hits the concrete? Happens to me all the time haha
Sometimes haha
Do you think you could groom it with a Ryobi scarifyer if you just go deep enough to go into the grass and not into the dirt? Or the tines just won’t do it the same?
I was wondering the same thing
How often will you be grooming? I've got a kik/couch blend (mostly kik) and currently training at 12mm. I have recently invested in a groomer so keen to find out. Will get the PGR going once it recovers from the reno.
With PGR what is the ratio ? I have couch tiftuf Bermuda and 100sqm so only a smallish area. And when should you follow up with it and how often do you need to use it ?? Also I’ve heard people say to apply it with some form of liquid fert or greening agent ?? Do you mix it in with each other or apply separately ?? Your kikuyu is looking absolutely excellent. I’ve been watching since you first started with this property. Looks fantastic love the videos and helpful hints 🍻🍻
Looks amazing! what Kikuyu seed do you reckon I should purchase? currently have Kikuyu but need to do some overseeding
How can a lawn look so orgasmic? Wow!
Ben! I scalped the lawn, seeded with Qld Blue. Two weeks later the seeds are germinating but the existing grass is now 2" tall. What would you do? Mow or risk seedlings being shaded out?
Hi - why would you groom this lawn after you’ve cut at 10mm?
Looking sweet
Hey mate, after grooming do you usually need to clean up with the rotary or go straight over with the cylinder?
Noice mate. I found my kikuyu looks best when i fertilise less, otherwise too much thatch and white patches when I mow.
Sounds like you might be ferting with too much nitrogen. Definitely would do that
@@LawnTips Would liquid iron and seaweed be a better solution ?
Can you please explain what is grooming?
It’s like scarifying but you only Knick into the surface. Pulls out above ground that’s to help for a more true cut. Plus it helps the lawn grow a little more upright
Siiiiickkkk
Nice
Kik that does not look like a weed. Lol
Does anyone know the best way to plug bare patches without a pro plugger? Just use a spade? 🤷
Yeah you could cut squares out for sure mate! Would work well
After all the PGR, you still collecting more grass, 🤔🤔 interesting!!
Only cause I went from 15mm down to 10mm 😉
If I had of cut at my normal height it would have been basically nothing
@@LawnTips ok I get it now
Go the Hark Yakka boots, comfiest out
Get yourself some LM/Durban grass
Last Aussie 😁
Would u just throw extra top dress over the scarified pieces I want to get and get kik to over take my buffalo that’s very very sick !
#envious
First 😎
Bet your glad that trees gone
Nope, kikuyu is still a weed..
How would you remove broadleaf carpet grass in Kikuyu? As far as I can tell I can't spray it out because that will hurt the Kikuyu and I have to large patches and I'm afraid I'm going to have to either paint round up on the carpet grass individually or pull the section out by hand 🥹
Yo mate, what up. Looking shmick for reel. 👍💚🦸
