- Dr. Sanil Rege, Consultant Psychiatrist and Founder of Psych Scene and Psych Scene Hub speaks to Dr. Martijn Arns, Chief Scientific Adviser, NeuroCare Group; Founding Director & Senior Researcher at Research Institute Brainclinics about neuromodulation on the topic of key differences between high frequency & low-frequency rTMS protocols.
Take-Home Points
• Remission and response rates remain consistent, regardless of the level of rTMS stimulation applied.
• 1 Hz and 10 Hz protocols are used to stimulate the right and left sides of the brain respectively when treating depression, although 1 Hz bilateral treatment has recently shown to be beneficial for patients.
• 1 Hz stimulation is considered to be the safest protocol and better tolerated by patients.

Thanks Dr, can you suggest best frequency for left and right for autism child not interested to write and read.
We already given rTMS to our child
This is very difficult to answer here on a forum. Your child’s doctor or psychiatrist will be the best person to provide individualised advice. Wish you and your child well
Why is 1hz safer?
It’s a lower frequency - LF-rTMS causes less pain and has a higher safety profile - even in epilepsy patients.
Sir LF 1HZ and HF 70HZ my EEG report
Im scared i had high frequency on the right side and since than i have high anxiety
Would be good to discuss this with your doctor.
What frequency, part of the brain and what was the rationale for doing that? Are you left handed?
First comment.
WHAT??????
Yup welcome 😁.
