I was raised under armstrongism after leaving that I have been self studying alone for a long time so refreshing to hear someone who actually study’s their Bible, great sermon and it’s correct . You really made my day. Thank you
This is one of the best rightly divided expository videos of the book of Acts I have heard. Some biblical doctrine has a spiritual meaning and can be hard to understand but the book of Acts is more of a historical timeline and with some careful reading, one should be able to understand the book of Acts without much spiritual discernment. In the book of Acts, there are two ministries happening at the same time so one needs to not get them confused. One ministry is for Israel and one is for the gentiles. It seems that those who have been taught that the 4 gospels is doctrine for the body of Christ want to twist the book of Acts around so as to not conflict with their misuse of the 4 gospels.
Thank you, Pastor Justin, for this always -timely and much-needed message, and for the sobering prayer! I truly love hearing your prayers, at the beginning of the message!
What Happened to Peter's Ministry? "One of the most common questions people have after learning about the revelation of the mystery that Christ gave to the Apostle Paul is, “What happened to Peter’s ministry?” This lesson explains how and why Peter’s ministry decreased as Paul’s increased." -by GraceAmbassadors
How were people saved back when paul and peter lived since they taught 2 different gospels? Like were you saved when you heard peters teaching or when you heard Paul's? When did Peter's teaching not save you anymore is what I'm asking
Good question Matthew Until about Middle of Acts the gospel in operation was the Gospel of the Kingdom - this gospel of the kingdom was a ministry to Israel that they would believe in Jesus as the Messiah and a prophesied kingdom to Israel. However it would appear as in Acts that Israel would not repent and come to the saving knowledge of Christ even though Christ had so evidently died and rose again. Israel thus fell through unbelief and a partial hardening has come upon them. During that dispensation of the gospel of the kingdom, gentiles could only be saved by having faith in the Messiah or by blessing Israel as we see with the Euthiopian and Cornelius. However since Israel's rejection of Jesus' Kingship and finished work - the gospel of GRACE was made available to the gentiles who did not have the law to begin with(Romans 2) This dispensation of grace was committed to the Paul and is the mysterh kept hidden since the beginning of time whereas Peter's Israel ministry was spoken through the law and the prophets. Why then has salvation come to the gentiles? Because Israel rejected their own Messiah and now the ingraftinf of the gentiles would hope to provoke jealousy to the Jews (Romans 11:14)
At 31:35 mins, you mentioned about Paul actually preached the Gospel, you are right, even to Peter's group... As said in this verses... 1 Corinthians 9:20-23 (KJV) 20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. At 33:21 mins you said Peter didn't leave Jerusalem...but I thought Christ told them to go the all the Nation? Peter and the 11 were not just sent to Israel, but were also sent to Gentiles after they converted all of Israel [Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15]).??
Yes but you see their preaching of the Kingdom had to start from Jerusalem then Judea then Samaria and then unto all the ends of the earth. The 12 were meant to minister the gospel of the kingdom to Israel and in turn Israel would fulfill Isaiah 49 to be a light unto the nations Israel failed to be that light and so a partial hardening has come upon them (Romans 11:25) The gospel that the 12 preached was really the dispensation of the Kingdom up until about Mid Acts when it was confirmed that Peter would continue to minister to the Jews whilst Paul to the Gentiles. Paul did indeed preached the Jews first but when he found out that Israel still rejected Jesus, he focused his attention on the apostleship to the gentiles.
Peter's ministry, according to Catholic teaching, has been a succession of popes from St. Linus 67 AD to the present. Catholics would claim Peter's ministry has done very well, indeed. I'm not Catholic, but would be interested in a bit more historical perspective about the Church after Peter and the early Church fathers and what they taught. Also how those after Paul's ministry later contrasted with those who came after Peter. To write-off Peter without any serious documentation seems a bit - you know...
It is the scriptures that deal with what happened as the vid teaches. The task of explaining how Catholicism gets its idea of Peter as head of the church has to fall to the Catholic Church. It is not scriptural, because Paul's gospel superseded Peter's.
Anybody notice at 13:00, this heretic actually said, "Paul did not go to Peter's church and try to steal members from it and Peter didn't try to do that to Paul's churches". Umm...I thought Christ is the head of THE body, and that the body is THE church? Does the church have one head and two bodies like some sort of freak? The entire "lesson" is whack, but that part was the worst.
Reading comprehension... Not everyone has it. May I ask how do you know you are saved? (Serious question, usually the root of the problem) Are you enduring to the end, as per Peter and the Eleven's gospel? Or do you have the current possession of salvation, as per Paul's gospel?
I can listen to this message a million times and still get blessed.

Great teaching.. Blessed ❤️
Excellent
This is dispensationalism started being taught couple hundred years ago

Faith is a gift from God whether to the Jew Act 2:39...or to the gentile Acts 13:48
Good question Matthew

only ONE gospel
That was cool
Great teaching on this subject...but man you dont have to say the word OK after every other sentence !!!
I just wish these were all written haha

Are we to conclude that Matt 16: 18 did not come to realization?
Not yet, in Matt 16:18 Jesus was speaking to Peter, he told peter "on this rock I will build my church" the "rock" was Jesus, not Peter.
Am I hearing you right? Are you saying Peter ministered in Corinth?
Whats the preacher name here ??
Justin Johnson is preaching.
