What sets the Xtool apart is the addition of an excellent came for positioning fine details, and the huge community around it. But both lasers are great choices.
Great comparison. Another benefit to the Ultra is the FB community. While there are some very good generic laser channels/groups, it is nice to be able to drill down and focus on info about your specific machine. Thanks much!
Community in general if an Xtool strong suit. On the hardware side the Ultra also has a fantastic camera that helps with positioning. Nothing like this with the ComMarker.
Hi Steve, great video! I'm looking for a laser that will engrave color on stainless steel for my stainless steel pendants. I've narrowed it down to the commarker mopa (for the color) and the XT F1 Ultra. I need to make a decision today to catch the Black Friday sale and wanted to get your input on the best "bang for the buck" purchase?
Yes I thought the same. I use both of these lasers but I find myself gravitating to the F1 Ultra a lot more. Better software, excellent built in camera and dual lasers.
Not sure this is a fair comparison, but for straight engraving I’d buy the Omni1. The Ultra is a better choice if you want deep engraving for things like coins, or if you still need a diode laser. Keep in mind the omni1 is more expensive than the Ultra, and that can matter a lot if you have a fixed budget. Also note the a UV laser and a fiber laser aren’t exactly the same things
@@SteveMakesEverything in your video you said the machine was not fully effective when you put that lens on. I think you may have said in the outer reaches. If that's accurate, then one would have issues with consistencies across the work area, no? The xTool camera can be used to batch process blanks of the same type across the work area, which I realize the other can't. But presumably you can use a template, and then consistency across the area is important then, too.
Another awesome video with great reasonings as to benefits and reasons in the comparisons of each machine.

You’re definitely look at a mopa fiber laser if you want color. But both lasers you mention here top my list for basic fiber capability
I am still amazed by any of both machines, though XTool has better image

good stuff Steve THANKS
Thanks - you've changed your user name??
Would you still buy the F1 Ultra over the Omni 1? This would be my first "fiber" laser.

I feel like you underplayed the difference in effective work area. The F1 has effectively 4x the work area. (220x220 = 48,400 vs 110x110 = 12,100).
The B4 also includes a 200mm lens so the difference isn’t as dramatic as this.

@@DavZell The 200mm lens seems fine in the center, but the power seems to drop dramatically at the edges.
@@SteveMakesEverything That was my take from the video. Thanks.
Where do you buy your blank coins eh?
You can get them on Amazon. You need to be careful though because there are really cheap ones there that engrave terribly.
Scratch my comment on the F1 ultra video 😅😅
Enjoy!😀
