To hear Coach Pitino recognize right away that Lebron was the only one in that camp who was on the path to the nba straight from high school let's you know how his talent stood out even amongst the best high school players in the country.
This is why LBJ is the GOAT over MJ. The people who mattered knew it right away. At 15 Jordan wasn't Jordan yet. Some of his peers/coaches knew since he was 13 that he was a different breed.
apprently after his sophmore season, many thought he could forgo graduation and go to the nba. idk whether they meant from SO to Rookie or JR to Rookie though
@@superdopehiphop is it at fact that Lenny was ineligible to play 2 senior years because he was 19? Matter fact he was trying to play High School ball at 20.
@@anthonyhurd5573yeah he ran out of eligibility but he was destroying grown men and former pros when he was 20 as well. I remember Lenny was damn near averaging 40 in one of the pro leagues he was playing in and he wasn't even playing hard.
And Lenny didn't play basketball til he was 15, his parents did not support him, and he still managed to be #1 in nation from sophomore to junior year. That type of logic can be played both ways. LeBron was lucky, born right place right time - put him in downtown NY, give him a kid to take care of at 16, don't give him a support system,.get him hooked on drugs and all is different. We are all products of our environment, and LeBron got crazy lucky with the right things falling into place for him.
Did he . Lol!!! He was right on the money . That is amazing to see out of a high school junior at that time . Bron has truly lived up to those expectations and more . Not going to see to many guys like him come along . I know that was difficult having those expectations since high school.
Pitino was talking about LeBron @ 15:57. They even mentioned Kwame Brown. I remember seeing this while I was stationed in Korea, without the commercials.
Sonny’s observation on Bron was spot by a little bit . Lol!!!! Nice to see this . I used to watch all these at the crib . Bron was being pushed in 8th grade . It’s a shame Lenny Cook didn’t pan out .

It’s nice to see this . Lenny Cooke mentioned this conversation shown in this show, what Kobe said to him when he asked about playing him one on one . The only ones to make it the nba in this clip of the show out that camp, was obviously Lebron James who was not even a Senior at that time and Telfair, who had a cup of coffee in the nba . Bron never really seeked Kobe for advice at least not publicly. He didn’t in this camp and never did in the nba . Obviously it has worked out for him Lol, but he never did .
Looking at this now, Kobe’s gone RIP, Lebron has established himself as a goat in the game, Lenny Cooke is a has been, and Sebastian Telfair went to the league, but just snitched on a deceased Kobe Bryant about him cheating on his wife. Smh
I wouldn't trade my generation for anything. This was one of the most horribly and dangerously greatest times of my life. It had its hard times, but im better for it.
Nah he was the real deal ...I do think not playing for Pitino at least 1 year was a big mistake. The kid to the right of Lenny Gary ervin was a problem on the court as well.

Arrogance. He thought he was already on Kobe's level.
Yep he was listening but not hearing or comprehending.
Lebron focus was different. “Kobe is Kobe, but I want to be Lebron James”
Facts 💯💯💯
This is how long LeBron has been in the spotlight. Crazy. Hasn’t slipped once.

Facts. I remember when Telfair was the #1 ranked 8th grader in the country.
Maybe if he had went to college instead of going straight to nba.
Lenny Cooke was #1until this camp and Lebron passed him here
Damn kobe even told him smh lenny cooke hard headed asf, no clubin 😢..
He was around the wrong people and his coaches were more like groupies instead of mentors
Kobe backed up everything he said
