UPDATED - Another way to do this is to export it as a "webm" file and select the export alpha channel option.

Telemetry data (distance, speed, etc.) is recorded on my smartphone (1k).
How do I make the white text of the telemetry data appear at the bottom of the screen. Without losing the 4k recordings?

Your video was exactly what I was looking for as I was tearing my hair out on how to export a video with a transparent background as I wanted to use it as an alert in StreamElements..
But I have an issue that I hope you can please help me with?
When I go to export the video it says the the Size is 4.2MB but when I export the file it is 123MB? So when I try to upload this to StreamElements it's telling me that the video is too big and that I need to have video file under 30MB.
So I was wondering. Do you know how I can reduce this in size please?

How do you actually preview transparency? Is there something that you could switch to view a checkerboard background instead of the black? That would be super helpful. If not, then I guess I'll make myself a checkerboard background in video resolution, and export it to JPEG. I'm actually keen on removing green screen effect from some meme VFX assets I obtained for free, replace the green screen with transparency, so I won't have to apply green screen effect each time. It's gonna be super useful and it's gonna save so much time for me.

What format is the video you exported with transparent background in? I follow your instructions, export video, but exports as a MP4 file. MP4 files can not hold alpha channel. It is imperative that it actually exports with alpha channel so the logos I create can be placed on any site. In your video you import the exported video to Filmora. This doesn't really prove that it was exported as an actual video with alpha channel that can be used anywhere.

Jacky, you're videos on Filmora are the best I've found on RUclips (including Filmora's official channel). I just switched over from Movavi and am finding Filmora to have way more & better features; however, I'm having a HUGE issue: When I've completed or nearly completed a large project with lots of texts, overlays, b-roll, along with multiple video elements that are 'synched' together with other elements, what's happening is things get 'out of sync' with one another if I have to make edits farther along in a big project. In Movavi you can 'link' elements to a specific spot on a track so it doesn't matter how many additional edits you make... the different project elements stay in synch with one another. The 'ripple' effect doesn't seem to make a difference, and neither does 'locking' tracks down. What am I doing wrong? Thanks a BUNCH for your help, this is VERY frustrating! Mike

Not as complicated as yours.
But if I have placed texts very precisely on a video track, for example, they are not moved when the video is moved. Not reliable.
Of course I know the Ripple function.
Okay! I need to know exactly what you're doing on the timeline to give you a correct answer. Can you record the screen, drop me an email so that I can take a look. When the project is almost finished, we should turn off Auto Ripple Function to avoid moving objects when adding or deleting things on the timeline. But, it maybe not your case.

OMG! I had exactly the same story as you and i was looking every where for a solution but later i figure it out myself,
first: once you finish the cutting part disable the auto ripple
second: leave always at least two empty timelines in case you need to add any further elements
third: in case you need to edit an element "dont delete it" just disable it from the drop down menu when you right click the mouse pointer
forth: dont mix different types of elements in one timeline, for example make 2 for text
2 for stickers
2 for b-rolls
2 empty for extra edit as i mentioned before
last: lock any track once you done with it immediately before start working with the other

I knew that only MOV files are exported transparently but your file is exported to MP4, so the question remains whether you have done the blending mode, if it works then the tutorial can be called good.
