I don’t think you’ve been informed that the LGBTQ is a protected class under Title VII 😂😂😂 You cannot legally just say no.
There’s also state and municipal laws to protect them most places in the U.S., and in New York specifically you can’t legally refuse service over this.
I believe when our Faith is actually being tested we should have the right to refuse, but that’s just not how it works here.
Edit: HOWEVER!!!!! I was not informed that in 2023 the supreme court DOES allow you to say no if it violates religious beliefs. So NEVERMIND. 😂
This needs to be said more. Cancel culture has gone too far. Anyone who doesn’t agree with your point of view gets cancelled these days. It’s crazy that this woman had to consider that people could protest and her business could suffer simply because she was not comfortable catering to a customer because of her belief!
We as Christians need to support the businesses that they try to cancel!
I don’t remember every detail nor their state, but it didn’t go well for a husband and wife who lost their business, home and were sued for more. I don’t remember if they had a bakery, flower shop or graphic designers, but they too refused services and were not protected!!! 😞
She cares more about what God thinks of her, as opposed to what the world does. That takes courage along with faith.

Romas 1 26-27 call both male and female homosexuality a sin and God defines marriage as between one man and one women. You do not know God if you disagree with this because you are disagreeing with Gods word and a true Christian would not do this.

I'm a violinist, and before a hand injury and surgery, I used to perform at weddings. My sister asked me to play at hers, and I asked a friend of mine if she would accompany me. She refused, because she was a fundamentalist Baptist and it was my sister's second wedding. I asked another friend, who agreed.
Nobody called the media or accused my first friend of any kind of bigotry or discrimination. I found someone else who agreed and whom I paid for her time.
I don't see why nobody else thinks to do this. Just call someone else. Nobody must take your work, and their reasons can be as unique as you are. Doesn't mean you were wronged.

God opened my eyes to the truth and Jesus after healing me of my heart sickness I had for 4 years. I was dying. I developed it after Covid hit and was so depressed and lonely. After almost ending it He saved me through bringing me and my mom's relationship back together, and by her words of wisdom I decided to actually pray to Jesus. In His name I was healed!! Praise God! I am going to be a foster mom now. I love Him sm. And He is my Best Friend. ❤

Christianity is not being 'religious' it's by choice & once you make the choice to give your heart to Christ, he comes in and abides with you along with the Father and helps you walk out the faith, we walk by faith not by sight. To be religious is to walk by sight, it's to do rituals and deeds in order to be loved or forgiven. Those in Christ are not this way, God loved us before we loved Him and Jesus died so that we can be forgiven without works. God's mercies are renewed daily. It's not a religion or about being "religious" we could never be made righteous by our deeds but it's through the sacrifice & the blood of Jesus.

I stand with her decision, I am a graphic designer, I also won't make any items promoting it as well. At 1st I didn't understand creating the design made me a part of the sin. Then I had this thought out of no where I realized I was promoting something that God did not agree with. I took all the designs down and I don't make them anymore even if it's by request.

They would be changing their circumstances from sinful to holy. Two people of the same sex having a ceremony to honor their sin is moving in an unrighteous direction.

I had a similar experience, although it wasn't like my job or anything was at stake. I had done a great deal of volunteer work to raise donations for a cabaret dinner my daughter's high school chamber choir hosted. My daughter's vocal coach and son's piano teacher (same woman) saw all the work I had done and later ended up asking if I would volunteer to help raise funds for a concert she and a local organist were putting on. I told her I'd be happy to help, but since her concert was not supporting a nonprofit, I couldn't promise my fundraising efforts would be as successful as previous school events I'd organized. The next day she said she and her organist were considering partnering with an LGBTQ nonprofit. But, knowing I am a conservative Christian, she wanted to find out if I was comfortable with this. I really appreciated her realizing this might go against my religious/personal beliefs rather than assuming I'd be okay with it. She did not resent my decision not to solicit donations. I still put up posters for her concert and attended it because I wanted to support her bringing her musical talents to the community. Oddly, I never saw or heard any mention about any LGBTQ organization in their advertising or at the event. So I'm not certain she even ended up involving them. I think her goal was to just break even, which she did.

Until you can forgive those who hurt you, pray for your enemies, show kindness, mercy and grace towards them, and offer compassion to the least of the world, you will not understand what true love is.

I was asked to photograph my lesbian neighbor's wedding, I refused to as well. They were really nice ppl & we got along great. However, I didn't tell them it's because I'm a Christian who doesn't support the lifestyle. God loves them but not their homosexual practicing lifestyle. I'm not judging, that's in the Bible. I told them that I was double booked. I should have just told the truth back then, 10 yrs ago. I've already repented & God has forgiven me. God hates a lying tongue so I've since repented (scripture in the Bible), and a soft answer turns away wrath (scripture in the Bible) before your go throwing stones and condemning. My heart was in the right place & I didn't want to participate in the celebration of a homosexual wedding when God created marriage for men and women ONLY. Just sharing a previous experience with Y'all.

I'm a lesbian, and i have always believed that it is the business's perogative as to who they choose to do business with. I was horrified when the family who lost their livelihood over a "cake" for standing up and putting God First. I'm proud and support your choice to stand firm. If more business owners stand on their beliefs, it would help to reign in a lot of this craziness that has gotten out of control. You do have support from the LGB community that only wanted equal, not more, or special treatment. There are other options they can turn to for cakes, dresses, or other products. God Bless you, plant your feet, stand firm, and lean into the storm. God will prevail.
