I bought my walnut 335 new in the day, November, 1973... $670 CDN ( with a case ) ... I did mod it by ditching the trapeze tailpiece for a stud one, and when I refretted it I put in Seymour Duncan 44 fret wire, much higher than the stock.. The thing about any Gibsons back in the day early 70's was that were several factories pumping out all models as fast as possible, everyone had either a 335, Les Paul, SG ... or a Strat back then it seemed. I tried maybe 4-6 of them before I found the one I did buy, the quality was really hit and miss... BTW, I still do have it..!
