Just wanted to make it clear to everyone that my goal is to get Koda on the same diet as Luna - which is only 1/8 cup of pellets a day and hay/veggies for the rest. I'm just trying to keep in mind his low weight/teeth issues as I make that transition and my #1 priority is to make sure he is consuming enough food. Obviously, hay should be the main portion of his diet, and he will adjust to that overtime, but in the meantime I don't want him to lose anymore weight/not get enough food since he is so picky.
Austin's things from the Pig room are amazing I never seem to get online quick enough though until everything is sold out. His stuff for Ginnie pigs is amazing such great quality too ❤❤❤
Hello Autumn! This was a beautiful video. I love the piggies and how happy they are over treats and food. the two lops are extremely adorable! 🥕look forward to next video :)
Hey autumn I hope koda and Luna get along and the guinea pigs look so happy in one of the future videos can you do another cage reaction video I'm sending in my cage soon.
The piggies are so well behaved! Mine if I'm 5 minutes late to get them breakfast they get so hangry (angry hungry) and start biting the cage shaking it violently😂 Incase your wondering they are 2 boys, buttercup&oreo living in a 6x2 c&c and we are looking into expanding the cage by 8 square feet.
Lol! Mine know that just because they scream and beg, doesn't mean the food will come right away, lol. I don't always respond to their wheeks asap because if I did they would get hangry like yours and scream all the time 😂😂
@autumn grace lol I feed them at 6am everyday and they are so spoiled and once they almost broke the cage because they where so hangry lol and when we order them presents they are like "I think I like the box better" lol
I used to feed my bunny Sherwood pellets and he had GI stasis every couple of month, also those pellets don’t have ingredients that are important for rabbit health I feed Oxbow garden select only 1/8 of a cup deciding in two feedings My bunny also doesn’t want hay of any kind or brand… even alfalfa he wouldn’t eat more then a few bites, he doesn’t see hay as food so he eats organic greens, herbs of different varieties all day available for him, pretty expensive
Oh thanks for sharing! I used to feed garden. Haven’t had any issues with Sherwood but I’m considering doing a garden/Sherwood mix for the future. I only do 1/8 a cup typically too but with him I’ve been doing a little more since he’s so hesitant to eat other things. Sadly he doesn’t view veggies as food either but hoping he’ll come around with that. What ingredients are the Sherwood missing in your opinion? I’m still learning a lot about nutrition percentages etc.
Yes definitely! Pellets should be a very small part of the diet. And that’s my goal with him. He’s just so skinny I worry about him not gaining weight since he’s not interested in veggies and only eats a small amount of hay.
@@autumngrace. poor fussy boy 😭 i have similar issues with one of my budgies. All he wants is seed rather than veggies. Animals can be so stubborn especially when they're rescues and come from a less than ideal background.
@@mojothebudgies2901 Definitely, I've ordered more forages like plantain/strawberry leaves/etc. Some dry forage that replicates a wild bunny diet. So hoping that will entice him too!
I adopted a rabbit from a bad situation a few years back who was skin and bones. She would NOT eat hay. So I sat with her for like 30 minutes poking the best parts of the timothy hay into her mouth. Sounds cruel but honestly it was so successful. She began by being real irritated at the hay and would take it in her mouth to shove it away. I kept at it. Finally something just clicked, she was like “oh there is something in my mouth, I might as well chew on it” 😂😂😂 After that there has been no stopping her!
Just out of curiosity have you tried making rabbit cookies for koda to help him gain weight/eat hay? I made these for my friends rabbit whos picky and he loves them 1/2 cup ground rabbit pellets 1/4 cup timothy hay (or other hay made cut small) 1/4 cup banana 1/4 mashed pumpkin or carrot (or other veggies) 1/4 cup papaya (optional) Add in optional herbs or veg preheat 325 degrees (F), Food processor put in hay/pellets pulse a few times, add in everything else till combined (it might be a little sticky). Making the size as small or large as you want, slightly flatten on baking tray, bake for about 30 mins will come out somewhat soft. Keeps up in the fridge for about a week or freeze them for longer, they thaw out fast. You can play around with the ingredients too adding or taking away what you want, its a very forgiving recipe Hope this helps!
I’m feeding Sherwood currently. Also is not better to limit some than none at all? What do you have against me trying to give them more natural alternatives when I can?
after my bun got gi stasis a month ago i have been consistently giving him one of the oxbow digestive health treat thing. in the video you had mentioned not liking them, is that something i should look more into?
It’s up to you! I just hesitate to give it often because it has cane molasses and other sugary binding ingredients. It’s definitely not the worst thing that you could give and nothing may come of it. But the well kept rabbit probiotic biscuits are like the more natural/herbal way to provide that same GI support!

Hi autumn great video
Did you already say the winners for the giveaway ❤ love your work and the Guinea pigs are going crazy in the background 😂
Not yet! Thank you ☺️
Hopefully Luna will inspire Koda to eat better and try new foods.

I think the idea is pellets are treats most of nutrition should come from hay & some veggies

Oxbow pellets have cane molasses too though? Kinda hypocritical

@autumn grace wish we had good things like that in New Zealand but unfortunately all I can find for my bunnies is oxbow digestive support 😢
❤❤❤❤❤
